This is not just in Texas. Not sure how many states are like this but I know for a fact that Colorado is also this way.

It's like that in most states.

Sounds like he wouldn't give her crack money and she got upset. She has put him through enough already. The guy is literally just a kid. But let's blame him for an altercation with his crackhead mother.
nice delusions you got there buddy

i wonder if youd say the same thing if he played for the skins or eagles. oh wait youd cuss him out. but hes a cowboy so let him get away with beating up his own mom. hell, its HER fault. she could have injured his precious hands with her crackhead! right?

He hit his mother.

Wow.

If true I don't support him. C'mon dez jeez

Why? His mother is a crackhead, prostitute who has already lied to the police in the past.

That is absolutely not true for a lot of college grads. I daresay it's not true for half. I've met more self reliance and discipline embodied in members of the Army than the majority of the knuckleheads I knew in college.

I agree, but it depends a lot on the school and the crew you're hanging with.

The army builds self reliance and discipline for sure, but is lighter on the social development end. College allows for more tomfoolery on the road to self reliance and discipline, but eventually, often a couple of years after it's over, it kicks in.

Gotta do one or the other unless you're that rare bird that knows exactly what they want to do and has the Type A personality to get there. Skipping out on college and military is a bad idea for most.

I go by the facts. I know for a fact his mother has been charged with lying to police, prostitution and dealing crack cocaine. I don't lend this woman much credibility. If that irks you, so be it.

Tough way to put it, but yeah, Dez' mom is a piece of work. Honestly, he'd be best off to cut all ties with his past. It's the bottom-feeding family lowlifes that often bring these athletes down. Easier said than done, for sure.

I think the prostitute stuff is a little far-fetched, but she's certainly an addict and has had issues in the past with lying to authorities.

I think it sounds like an argument over money. Dez probably doesn't want to supply half-brothers and whoever else with money to blow on drugs or something else, and family members look to him as the NFL player like he owes them something.

Words were said, mom ended up getting shoved, and what better way to then extort some cash than to go to the police with it, and then petition to "settle out of court."

Time for Dez to leave DeSoto in the rear view.

You're actually defending an NFL Star, a big and muscular man, from the fact that he hit a woman? And your point is she lied to police, took drugs and maybe was a prostitute?

Damn, we have some morally bankrupt views here on CZ.

I've severed ties with my family for similar reasons because my family drinks. And I agree with you. Dez has a chance here to be something. With his family involved, it lessens that chance greatly, especially given the fact his mom is a crack addict and hooker.

No one should have to grow up like that.

And what are the facts of this latest incident?

Of course, its a given that the army teaches you to be disciplined and self reliant. This is true in almost any aspect of life though; however, there is absolutely noway someone can get a major (unless its like anthropology/communications) if they don't have a good amount of discipline.

Being in my 3rd year, i agree there were plenty of knuckle heads in my general classes early on. But its feast or famine, they either grew up or were weeded out.

...I don't believe crackheads and people who have already lied to the police. Something doesn't seem right here. Dez has a lot of money. He also has a mother addicted to crack. If you can't speculate some reasonable doubt here, something is wrong.

yeah here we go again, it was never T.O's fault, never Pacman's fault, never Dez Bryant's fault, I get the tired argument, it's always someone else's fault!!

I usually disagree with most of your views. But yeah, I'm not buying this..particularly because his mother, "the victim" has not an ounce of credibility.

In my opinion, Dez is the victim for having a family like this.

College culls the herd. Not like it used to, but it still does. Today's entitlement society has softened college too much.

I thought this was America people

So it's Dez's fault his mother is a crackhead, convicted crack dealer, who lies to the police?

I expect this to play out that Dez's mom develops amnesia or fails to show cuz she doesnt want to kill the golden goose. It is probably too late for that. As for your comments, you are emabarassing yourself.
