Dez Bryant arrested (911 Call-Post 847) **closed**

I'd like to know how they can conclude those apparent injuries were caused by the incident with Dez when they were not observed after the incident and nearly two days went by before they saw her again. I'm not sure anyone could prove Dez caused those injuries beyond a shadow of doubt. There's nearly two days worth of reasonable doubt from Sat night until Monday morning.

Would probably come down to witness testimony since it would be her word against his (unless he has admitted "hitting" her) without the police being able to back it up. And the only witness we've heard from said Dez didn't do it.

I don't know if Bryant's mom is so delusional that she'd inflict injuries on herself and blame her son, but obviously her character is beyond questionable.

Not sure what actually happened, but it would be nice if everyone here would have actually waited before convicting him until we find out.

I saw the tweet from the brother, I was referring to the 2nd part that implied that Dez responded to the tweet. There was nothing on Dez's timeline since yesterday.

Maybe it was a copy/paste error.

I think I just figured that out. LOL. I misread your post.

this is the problem when you have previously been a bonehead...you don't get benefit of the doubt. I have no doubt Dez is partially responsible in this altercation.

I hope Jerry learned his lesson with Pac Man and knows what to do. I have seen enough of Coughlin as coach to know he would have identified Dez as a players who can't help you in big game situations because he can't help himself. Lets hope Jason has same amount of stones.

Look for the spin from Jerry.
I'm not sure what you expect Jerry and the team to do. People thought he would send a message to Anthony Spencer and he was simply fined.

Depending on the outcome of the case, this may all that happens to Dez. 1st alleged offense of the personal conduct policy shouldn't get him suspended by the NFL or the team.

That's been my take as well. I tend to follow the Occam Razor approach, in that the simplest explanation tends to be the correct one.

And the simplest explanation here would be that Dez lost his cool and did a few things he shouldn't have done, and his mom called 911 as a result.

His actions since the arrest have all been perfect in my eyes, but they also point to the simplest explanation: that he knows he ****ed up and wants to deal with his responsibility as quickly and cleanly as possible to get it out of the headlines and to get himself back to football.

Schefter is reporting he may get fined and suspended depending how everything unfolds. He is normally pretty good on his predictions.

You mean the same Coughlin that won a Super Bowl with Plaxico "I shot myself in the foot and served two years in prison" Burress? That Coughlin? He brought plax to NY as a free agent even though it was known he had character issues in Pittsburgh.

That's not a prediction. That an obvious statement. That's like saying the murder suspect might get life or the death sentence depending on the outcome of the trial.

I think you guys are getting too hung up on the "hitting" part...his brother said Dez didn't hit their mom. He never said Dez didn't do anything to her that maybe shouldn't have been done. I took from his tweet that he saw some media outlets claiming that Dez literally hit his mom, and that some are taking the lazy route and just mimicking that assertion as if fact...not that Dez did nothing to her. Hell, in my eyes, ripping her clothes and grabbing her by the hair is bad enough, no hitting necessary. And Dez' brother never said he didn't do any of that.

I would have moved Dez as soon as he started demonstrating violence (January '12 altercation). I can live with the saggy pants at mall and being in debt...but when things start to get violent (2 cases in 7 months) tells me the person is out of control and that kind of person isn't capable of being dependable for the team. We have seen this pattern in sports and out of sports over and over and yet we seem shocked when they can't seem to turn it around.

So he may be fined or suspended, or he may not. I like Adam but that statement says absolutely nothing. Maybe he had just had to give ESPN some face time.

You think maybe if he did do any of the other stuff she alleges that the brother wouldn't say anything? Logic man, logic.

He should be. Dude hit his mother. Godell has to send a message that the league won't tolerate violence.

Her injuries aren't the kind you get from being hit on, they are the kind you get when you are attacking someone else and they protect themselves from you. I'm not saying that she would inflict the injuries on herself but I don't see how they can arrest Dez two days later when they didn't observe any injury at the time of the incident. That kind of opens the door for anyone to do something like you suggested. If she told the police she was not injured at the time, any injury she may have two days later should be ignored as it could have happened any number of ways since the incident.

Why would he?...Maybe he sees it as some of you do: as a "minor family argument" that didn't require the police to get involved...why would he go into detail about what happened?

Or maybe he's just not wanting to go into what Dez DID do, and instead focus on what he did NOT do that some media outlets are irresponsibly claiming.

Both of those things make perfect, logical sense.

The issue is thinking that Dez's worth to the Cowboys equates to a decent draft pick/player from another team.

You don't trade a guy at his lowest value (after an altercation). People don't want to take on other teams headaches unless its for a ham sandwich with no cheese.

After Miles and Dez, there's a who's who of unprovens. I doubt the team is even remotely thinking of cutting/trading him.

And the brother who was part of the altercation.
