i think you are getting hung up on the lynching part.......only side we have heard from is the mothers side.....
You misunderstood my point completely lol.

Which was this: just because Dez' brother says he didn't "hit" their mother, doesn't mean the entire report is untrue. However, some here are making that claim...they shouldn't.

He should be. Dude hit his mother. Godell has to send a message that the league won't tolerate violence.

Really man? He DID NOT hit his mother.

Why would he?...Maybe he sees it as some of you do: as a "minor family argument" that didn't require the police to get involved...why would he go into detail about what happened?

Or maybe he's just not wanting to go into what Dez DID do, and instead focus on what he did NOT do that some media outlets are irresponsibly claiming.

Both of those things make perfect, logical sense.

Well, twitter is restricted to only so many characters. Are you a Cowboys fan by the way?

Dez's brother who was there at the time.

Who was also part of the incident. In fact, you can find many reports that the mother was breaking up an altercation between him and Dez.

That's not a prediction. That an obvious statement. That's like saying the murder suspect might get life or the death sentence depending on the outcome of the trial.

The thing that made me scratch my head was after he said depending upon the outcome, he said "and it's getting worse." I am sure he knows a lot more than most of us but that last part really worries.

You can tweet more than once, yanno lol...(if you were being sarcastic there, it flew right by me).

And definitely not a Cowboys fan lol...It shouldn't play a role in how you perceive my posts, though. Undoubtedly it will, though lol ;)

The issue is thinking that Dez's worth to the Cowboys equates to a decent draft pick/player from another team.

You don't trade a guy at his lowest value (after an altercation). People don't want to take on other teams headaches unless its for a ham sandwich with no cheese.

After Miles and Dez, there's a who's who of unprovens. I doubt the team is even remotely thinking of cutting/trading him.

Its not about draft pics or trades...its about setting a tone for what behavior will be tolerated going forward. You don't wait for middle of the season after Dez has few "nice games" because you disrupt the team too much. You make the move now and let team adjust before the season. I would call every team in football and go to highest bidder even if it meant you got a back up snapper in return.

Says who?

Says the only witness that has spoken as well as her supposed injured wrists and hands. You don't those injuries by being hit on, you get them by doing the hitting and then being restrained.

The important thing here is that Dez didn't do what he is accused of.

And what exactly did he do that won't be tolerated?

Well the getting worse part would bother me as well. But that may just be ESPN sensationalism though.

Actually, it's absolutely about draft picks or trades. NFL is a business and while it's easy to suggest the team should "send a message" or "set the tone" if it in some way hurts the team's ability to field a competitive team or hamstrings them in anyway, they're not cutting anyone unless the offense is too egregious.

Short of him committing a Rae Carruth-like crime, this isn't a cuttable offense. It's strike one on the list of cuttable offenses...IF this turns out to be true.

Anyone who thinks they know what happened right now---whether he hit (or otherwise assaulted) her or not---is living in an alternate reality.

Dez's mother is obviously nuts. There's no credibility there. The witness may very well have more loyalty to his superstar brother who represents the family meal ticket than to his crack w**** mother who undoubtedly traumatized all of them to varying degrees. We have no idea what that situation is like and it's delusional to try and figure it out from a computer. Odds are we'll never know with any real certainty if anything happened.

However, I don't really see how the cops could build a case from this though. It would be nice to hear from a defense attorney or prosecutor on this. If there's no conviction, there shouldn't be a punishment from the league IMO. Only message that would send is that if you have a crazy relative who accuses you, you're assumed guilty.

What bothers me the most here is that Irvin--who knows him from the real world--wasn't more surprised by the allegations. That doesn't mean he's guilty...it just means that Irvin recognizes him as being very troubled. That's not something I just dismiss.

Well then there is Irvin...He isnt saying lets wait for the facts....He is quick to say it not about football, lets get Dez some help. These guys have to be hearing more facts than us.
