Dez Bryant vs. Antonio Brown

Dez reminds me of a player similar to Irvin, Brown reminds me of a less serious version of Jerry Rice. Completely different styles, both great WR's.

Well, to be fair, Dez does drop more throws, especially in the biggest games. He disappears a lot more often too. Let's not forget that he is better at failing to run great routes.

You want to argue every little thing he is better at, I dont think it matters. I would think Dez is a better jump ball guy. Thats about it for me.

AB is a hell of a player, but Dez very well could be as good if not better than him. It's just that we don't force feed Dez the ball like Pittsburg does with AB. All the stat nerds and geeks don't realize it and automatically assume Brown is better because of his gaudy numbers. This is why I don't like to rank WRs. I just have them in tiers and that number 1 tier in my opinion includes Dez, Brown, Julio, Odell, and AJ Green.

Verdict and his tired agenda driven anti-Dez posts didn't exist in 2014; he was too busy throwing up the "X" like everyone else.

I was against over paying Dez and believed it was a mistake. I am sure you wish we were paying him double what we are now.

You don't have to "force feed" Brown the ball because he naturally gets open. Dez, not so much. He should work on his craft instead of relying on fighting the defender for the ball as a one trick pony.

They are both great talents with different skill sets, apples and oranges.

I agree with this. Dez is a much stronger, more physical player and its not even close in that category, but otherwise Brown is a much better, more complete receiver.

Dez is probably a little bit stronger than Irvin was, but Irvin was light years ahead of Dez in mental toughness, and was probably faster than Dez.

I agree with the metal toughness, Irvin wasn't as fast as Dez in my opinion, he did know how to break a tackle or two and sometimes I think his pure desire to be great made him look faster than he actually was, but he found ways to beat people to the end zone, that's for sure.

Brown is faster and a much better route runner than Dez which is why he's so productive. He's caught 371 passes the past 3 seasons for 4,816 yards and 35 TD's. Dez relies on his size, strength and leaping ability to win battles. Many of Dez's catches are contested but Brown can separate which is another big reason he's so productive. He's not going to win physical battles so he has to separate. Dez had a career year in 2014 and Bown's numbers blew Dez's numbers away except Dez had 3 more TD's.

It's clear you don't watch steelers play football. Brown gets the ball in double and triple coverage. He isn't wide open every time the ball is thrown

You have no idea what you are talking about. Irvin wasn't faster then Dez in fact Irvin wasn't fast at all. Dez is a punt returner and can maneuver in space much better. Irvin was a go get the ball guy and would out muscle corners

Dez isn't close to Irvin in any way except being better at jump balls. Irvin could run any route, slant, post, deep in, deep out, go, etc and was a threat to take it to the house every play.

I agree with you, I just said he was similar in his play and a little faster. Irvin is one of the greatest of all time. Dez haz amazing talent but a long way to go to get to playmaker level.
