That's not the point. The point is the Steelers don't need to force feed Brown but they do because he is their best receiver. Dez doesn't get the targets cause our offense is run first then whoever is open first.

Run first, closest easiest option second unless game flow or opportunity dictates otherwise.

Also I wouldn't say that Antonio comes without distractions when he was literally just called out by Ben and Tomlin

Brown is a complete reciever. Overpaid?? No question. Would l take him even up for Bryant. Yes. Is he hugely better...No. He is sizzle. Give me a hard nosed defensive player and l would trade either of them.

What! Since when is our offense run first. Bryant is almost strickly a redzone jump ball specialist. Thats a valuable asset...but it is not a Julio Jones or Antonio Brown.

Correct, but if he gets hurt this year, next years roster/bonus/whatever could be thrown out the door. So, NOT guaranteed. To me, bad contract to sign.
ABrown signed an extension a couple years ago that was great when he signed it but terrible when he exploded............ he didn't have a lot of leverage........ but worst case is still 19m for 1 year

Dez isn't near the level of the top tier receivers like Antonio Brown, Julio Jones and A.J. Green. I'm not even sure he is in the top 10. Somewhere between 10 and 20 if you are realistic about it.
Dez is part of a complete offense.

Brown has bell and who else?

Brown/Bell rec 181 1900yrds 14 td

Rest of team
200 2358yrds 17 tds

Put dez on that team and i think u see the same if not more production

brown 106 1284yrds 12 td
dez 50 796yrds 8 td

in comparison 2014
dez 88 1320 16tds

Are 200 receptions for 2358 yards and 17 TD receiving outside of WR1 and RB1 supposed to be a bad thing?

That was with Romo at qb, since tony is no longer qb dez may not ever do that good again.

That is one thing I dont think many realize, is that by getting rid of Tony they will lose the bigger production out of Dez.
maybe dak can be more like tony, but not sure that will happen.
Tony would be more likely to go against the playcall, if he sees single cov on dez, and he could throw a jump ball type pass
to dez better than dak.

Again, you're correct. For us normal folk, that's fabulous. For a top 3 receiver, it's terrible. He has a ton of leverage RIGHT NOW, and he used it to get $19 mill guaranteed!?!? Dez $45, Julio $47, AJ $32, Fitz $35. What's wrong with this picture? Again, $19 is nothing to sneeze at for 1 year, but it's the main reason players don't like to be franchised. They are not getting their maximum dollars

Julio is a stud. Absolutely the best currently
Absolutely. Juliois a real...complete reciever that went to a SB...that is really the test of a Team. Julio led the way. The Cowboys could really use a player like Jones.

u missed the entire point. nobody said it was bad. My point was saying Dez is a part of a complete offense where multiple guys are making impacts. Not just a 2 man offense. Im sure if Dez was in pitt he would have the same kinds of stats. next time u get in a post atleast read the post.

And by the way those 200 2358yrds 17 tds are for 13 guys. So while its not horrible its not really too good either.

Since we run more then we pass.......hence run first.

That doesn't mean some games we don't abandon the run and get pass happy because Linehan and Garrett have done that but overall we look to run first and have the past few years

Maybe...but Garrett and Linehan are predisposed to the pass! Elliott may force them to adapt their approach. I don't trust them, when it really counts!! ;)!

It wasn't just this year. We have been a run first team since Murray, sometimes they even over due it with the run. We get that same run play on first and second down then the pass to Witten.......come on I know you remember

Presently, "run first". Not that it matters. Like the Steelers don't utilize Bell to a similar extent, if not more, than Dallas does Zeke?

Dez Bryant contract ---5yr $70m

Antonio Brown---- 4yr $68 M extension

Antonio Brown is the co-record holder for most consecutive seasons with 100 or more receptions in a year at 4 with Marvin Harrison. Dez contract averages $14 million per year. If my math is right, Brown is getting paid $17 Million per year and is the highest paid receiver in the NFL.

Considering that Dez was signed before the 2015 season and revenues have gone up substantially since then (increased salary cap) even if Dez were as good as Brown the Brown contract would probably be a bargain compared to Dez, but based on production and quality of player, Dez isn't remotely in Brown's league currently.

Dez' contract is a relatively bad contract cap wise for the team. I hope we are more judicious going forward.
They are both great talents with different skill sets, apples and oranges.
