If the character of TO and guys like Dez are open to criticism, when they are begging coaches to give them another shot, than so is Tebow's period. He doesn't get some type of get-out-of-jail card free, because he fits some mold that supposedly makes him "ABOUT THE TEAM" and not greedy or in it for himself, when his actions say otherwise.
Correct me if I am wrong , but Tebow does not stay in the news begging for another shot to make a team like Dez is doing and TO did in the past. I agree that players should all be judged the same, but that only applies when they are doing similar things. Tebow is not the kind of guy that torches teams for not giving him an opportunity to make the roster. Dez to a degree , and TO has buried teams for not giving them a tryout. Neither of them realizes that their mouth has been a big hindrance for them to get tryouts with teams.

What is it? Depends on how he spends the money in his motives I guess. Everyone has a right to try to earn what they can. Someone is always paying when someone else is getting rich. (entertainment, actors, musicians) We don't call all athletes greedy do we? Really just the ones that hold out for that extra penny or dollar. The others get a pass on greed.

A speaking engagement for Tebow probably means people pay $20-$30 a piece to go. We pay $12 for a movie and another $5-10 for popcorn and a drink! Maybe those people want to pay to hear what he has to say.
I was disappointed to see that Tebow charges $50,000 for church appearances. For that price, he better give me a one way ticket to heaven with an escort of angels dressed in gold.

To me it depends how he spends his money and the charities he is involved in. He very well could make better use of that 50K than a church does.

He's now played for 3 franchises.....I have heard nothing about being a "cancer" from none of them.
You certainly heard it while he was with the Cowboys. His time with the Saints was cut very short, but they didn’t bother to give him a second chance. There was rumblings from Dez and the Ravens about the team not being the place and fit for Dez. I defended Dez from most of his critics while he was in Dallas. I saw a desire to win when most people was seeing blowups and temper tantrums . At least a Dez hated losing which was more than most players showed. My problem with Dez comes from his current comments they he feels the need to make concerning things that has nothing to do with him. Enough is enough. Shutup for goodness’s sake .

From my understanding after reading up on it, Tim likes the money to the point where it comes off as being greedy. There are several more instances where Tebow has shown his love for money. It shouldn’t be a surprise considering the money involved with religious speakers.

I never once heard he was a cancer in Dallas. I heard fans determine he was a cancer based on the camera catching him on the sidelines but to me Greg Hardy was a cancer. Terrell Owens was a cancer....that ain't Dez whether someone likes him or not. He was frustrated with losing while it seem like guys like Romo and Witten were content with it so he got called a malcontent.

Dez was a distraction on and off the field. He made scenes on the sidelines. He gave up on plays that weren't directed to him. Opposing DBs would get in his head and take him out of games, distract him and he seemed to forget what his job was. I promise you that players who's career depended on winning games had an issue with some of the crap Dez brought in.
That all being said, for as talented as he was, the game has passed him by.

I’m speaking on the term “cancer”. What you said above doesn’t equate to a cancer. In regards to the game passing him by....that’s irrelevant.

Heard an interesting take on the radio - a point apparently a former Patriot now on ESPN made about the Tebow situation. He said that Tebow only needs to be on the roster for three games to qualify for a for-life NFL pension. Could this be Urban's way of helping out his favorite son?

Hmmmmm?!?!?

I disagree. The term can be broken down, but in the end means a distraction to the team and is a detriment. Which Bryant clearly was. It doesn't mean he's a bad person and this has nothing to do with liking him or not. I was a huge fan until he started having melt downs on the field and this hurt the team.

He had melt downs because the team sucked and was underachieving....I find it more insulting when guys are on the sidelines not giving a damn and smiling it off.

Not accurate. I'm not saying that the team didn't suck, but it wasn't a constant during his career. A simple search will illustrate that. Secondly, that's kind of a lame excuse. The team sucks, so why try?
There was a Seattle game that sold me on it. We were winning the game, but Dez whined and took plays off until they forced him the ball. He volley balled a pass off his hands for an INT, on another play he fumbled. The DBs were all over him and instead of going after the ball carrier on a turn over, he was in a shoving match and the play went right by him. A great player physically, but nothing between the ears.

Every time y’all don’t know the answer y’all tell me to google. The damn deal was voidable.....

The deal may have been voidable but I bet he would've got more than 1M the first year. More than he got with the Saints.

Maybe he need to call Belicheck or Cam to see if he can get on for another 1 year league min deal.

Last time I checked Dez last playoff game was 2016 9 catches 132 yards (off memory) one year after New England cut Tebow. Collin Kaepernick took a 49ers team to the Super Bowl the year Tebow was cut by the Eagles, after being cut by the Jets, and New England.

Dez did get a job as a WR in the NFL during the regular season and played in regular season games without training camp during a COVID pandemic. Where was Tim Tebow after he quit on the Mets?

Dez and Kaepernick do not have to try to change positions when they played at All Pro, Pro Bowl, playoffs, and Super Bowl levels at their current positions. Tebow has only provided one playoff win that was a luck completion to a Pro Bowl WR. Tim Tebow completed a career awful 48% of his passes. No team or coach can survive that QB play. So Tim Tebow quit on NY, NE, and the Eagles who all wanted him to change positions. Now he gets another chance to do something he should have done 8 years ago after make 0 effort to play in the NFL since 2015?

That is why current players, ex-players, and majority of sports commentators have express contempt on Urban Meyer, who has issues with bias and morals (see Zach Smith, Aaron Hernandez, Chris Doyle, etc.), signing of Tim Tebow.

Please tell me the 8 year commitment Tim Tebow has had to play in the NFL after being cut because he would not change positions versus Dez Bryant and Colin Kaepernick? After being cut by New England, completing 37% of his passes in preseason, Tebow said "I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback." I guess he forgot to say "until 2015".

Dez last year put in the work in the off season working with Dak, Mahomes, and got a job with the Ravens. What work Tim Tebow was doing to play in the NFL?

That is the issue and your explanation.
No that's not the issue and you didn't explain anything. My question that you avoided is: How does Tim Tebow signing with the Jags keep Dez and Kap out of the league? What is the connection between Tebow and Dez/Kap. If Dez/Kap are kept out of the league by Tebow then shouldn't Dez and Kap have been playing during the time Tebow was not signed?

Yes I believe in that 1st year he would've made more money then he did with the Ravens. Still probably would've got cut in the offseason though.
