For the Cowboys, too. Because they've made comments to the effect that there's no way they could see Dez in any other uniform.

It's all posturing and negotiation. Folks really shouldn't get too caught up at this stage of the game.

Dallas has a whole team to worry about. Dez only needs to worry about Dez. If the 10/114m deal offer is accurate then that is a legitimate offer that splits the risk equally.

I'm not worried because of the Franchise tag, but this is going to get ugly.

How does he say the Cowboys arent loyal to him? He had and top 5 talent and just kept falling until Jerry accepted his baggage and took him. All the boneheaded decisions he has made and still the Cowboys supported him. I'm sure we are offering him a big contract and he questions loyalty? Come on.. he is probably asking for Calvin money.

Even had we not picked him, the Ravens likely would have. And Bryant wasn't going undrafted so someone would have picked him up. And he likely would have been the same terrific receiver who would have played out his rookie contract and would be looking for a big pay day.

It's not like Dez was some scrub who needed a team to take a chance on him. He had first-round, top 10 talent.

So Stephen speaks this am and says the franchise tag is an option...

This afternoon, Dez responds to couple of folks on twitter that he's not happy about it.

But Dez's response is a cry for attention? Lol

His and the Cowboys responses are the same as they were during the season when the topic was first broached. At least they're consistent in these things we call NEGOTIATION.
Everything on twitter is a cry for attention.

The guys saying he shouldn't tweet are just old school and don't like the way things are done nowadays.

I told y'all this would happen. The new way the Cowbiys are doing business will not win then anyove with top talent, big money guys. They are showing no loyalty to top guys like Dez and Murray and it's going to bite them in the butt. Say what you want about winning with the system, coaches, and culture. But we did nothing for 2 decades until Dez and Demarco got on track...

I think it's just the media trying to stir up what's right now a dormant issue.

Players don't like the franchise tag. It's not a badge of honor. And no matter what we, joe fan, thinks, it's a business for players too. The tag limits their abilities to market themselves.

He's always said he didn't want the franchise tag. and he's never said anything unprofessional about it. The sign of loyalty from a player's perspective is to NOT franchise them. But it is what it is, I'm all for players getting theirs...

That said, I'm not worried about the talk between Dez and the team right now. If there haven't been any negotiations since the beginning of the season, I can't imagine a deal happening anytime soon when they haven't even made courtesy calls to one another. lol

I wish I could question the dedication of someone set to pay me at least 13 million dollars next year.

Usually I would agree but the media is working with information willingly volunteered by the club and player. IMO, It is hard to blame the media for re-airing dirty laundry getting thrown out for everyone to deal with.

Not at all. Wanting him to not tweet has to do with negotiation tactics applicable even today... not tipping your hand.

As for your comment on the Cowboys "new way" of business. Analytics says you're wrong. Equating big money pay out to loyalty is old school thinking. Smarter business models have a budget that dictates what they will pay for each position. That 2 decades that you mentioned was wasted spending loyalty money to talent and it got us nothing. It's an outdated way of business that has out lasted it's time with the Cowboys. For someone that likes the way things are done nowadays, it makes no sense for you not to like the "new way" the Boys do business nowadays.

Not paying attention to any of this until it comes time for Dez to miss mandatory practices. Not worried about his reaction the tag, either. The team has a right to tag him if they want to, and he'll just have to live with it. Much more likely would be them going back and forth like this in the media until one day an agreement is somehow magically reached and Dez will be talking again about being a Cowboy forever.

He's gonna be a lot richer either way...what's he worried about? Awwwwww...I'm only getting $13 million for one year...wahhhh.. With that being said, the Cowboys should give him a cap friendly long term deal and if Dez is avoiding something that is cap friendly that would help the team, shame on him as well. Let's see how it shakes out but he'll get a ridiculous amount money (from the Cowboys) either way.

I think Dallas will pay him they may not pay him what he wants. If he want to be the highest paid WR in the NFL that is not going to happen since right now he is not the best WR in the NFL. His numbers are up there he is 8th in yards and 12th in catches but if he expects to get CJ money I don't see Dallas doing that unless it is with a built in incentive.

Where does he rank in Touchdown catches?
