It's possible. I'm just saying don't send him off just to draft another TE with the pick.
Yeah, that wouldn't be very logical. Then again, maybe Bennett has just burned too many bridges during his tenure and they are ready to move on with another prospect. It's too bad that the guy lacks and real brain power, he has so much talent.

i guess maybe i am the only one who will be really pissed if we trade bennett, he is young and will be a force to be reckoned with in this league, i just want it to be on the cowboys. yea i get it, most people think he is a knuckle head.
YOu're not alone. I think he can be a major player.... BUT... playing behind a Pro Bowl caliber TE like Witten, short of a season-ending injury, Bennett won't get any major playing time

I hear you man..I am not down w moving Bennett either..unless that 1 player is available and I would have to think REAL hard about it..

what do you mean trading him for another player? like who? I would rather use him to move up in the draft personally..and ONLY to move up in rd 1...and ONLY if that 1 player we covet is there, whomever that player is..

Trading him for another player as in keeping our 2nd rounder and selecting someone.

If its an early enough 2nd then maybe package something that gets us back in the 1st round and we end up with 2 1st rounders.

yeah, that would be ********..I would only consider it if we used it to move up in the first rd..and it got us a top 5 player on our board

Or they may just feel like Phillips is ready to move into the #2 spot.

Keep thinking that. Dallas will spend another pick on a Tight End so fast it will leave your head spinnin.

Id rather package him w 27 and try and get a potential superstar

I dont think these trade will happen but I wouldnt hate trading Barber and drafting our 3rd RB late. Like Dixon, Tate, or Blount.

And If Bennet were traded Id hope we wouldnt draft another one unless it were one of the TE/FB hybrids later on that can fill 2 spots. That way we can carry another kicker if we have to and cut Deon.

I hope not but the way he made it look like it was just a matter of time has me worried.

Are you saying that it is completely out of the realm of possibility? There is absolutely nothing about this team that ever surprises me since Jerry Jones took over. Phillips may not have the same natural talent that Bennett does, but he certainly proved that he has the potential to be worthwhile in the New Orleans game; and his I.Q. is probably at least 50 points higher.

I'd hate to see MartyB go, but if you can get a high quality pick for him, I guess there is no harm in considering it. His departure could open up a roster spot for a more versatile and potentially dynamic player (e.g., Dorin Dickerson). I still think MartyB has a big upside, though, and would prefer that he realize his potential in Dallas.

I think that Choice and a rookie short yardage type back could take over the MB3 role quite nicely. I'd be o.k. with trading MB3 away so long as the Cowboys get at least enough for Barber to draft their new power back.

It just scares me.

1st we send Flo packing. And then we give up our best insurance policy for both of our tackles in Martellus Bennett?

And potential superstar doesn't entice me. I need to know what im getting.

Who is worth our 1st rounder and losing MB3 AND Marty B for? Nobody. Not 1 player.

So lets say this report is right I think theyd do something like this.

1. Pouncey
2. AOA
2. Jared Vedhleer
3. Sean Lee
4. Arthur Jones - DE
5. Anthony Dixon - RB
6. Anthony McCoy - TE/FB
7. Antonio Brown- WR/RS

Considering neither offers much in the way of production, I could name off 5 or more prospects I'd rather have than both.

Im with you on everything but i've learned that this team will burn early picks on TE's like its nothing. Even with much bigger holes on our team.

Don't trade Bennett and then create a hole that you know you're going to try and fill with another early pick.

Knowing how this team is ran, We'll trade Bennett for a 2nd and draft Dorin Dickerson in the 2nd.

I hear you man, and I don't necessarily disagree. I just don't think that Bennett is ever going to amount to much no matter how much talent he has and I really think that Barber is done being productive.

I think that we're in an interesting predicament right now. We have a guy who is likely our starter in Jones. But behind him we have the old veteran in Barber, and the young guy who's full of piss and vinegar in Choice. In my personal opinion I think that Choice is the best of the three backs, and he wants an opportunity. He won't get that as long as Barber is a Cowboy. If keeping Barber means risking us keeping Choice on the roster I'd drop Barber like a bad habit; for any price.
