Sorry. Clarifying it after the fact on the second page is not remotely the same thing as structuring it properly in the first place. When the posts are coming in on a hot topic, what happened is exactly what you would expect to happen.

Had he been clear where the info had come from and that it was dubious, the reaction would have been completely different. That's pretty well established in the hundreds of threads detailing dumb things said by the Dallas media on a daily basis. Like anything in life, it's all about presentation. You can't present something poorly and then pretend to be shocked by how it's received. Or rather, you can, but nobody's going to feel too bad about how that goes down.

He cleared it up before I got involved yet it continued.

I was blasted and I said where I heard it and when from the start. So I don't buy the how it was presented stuff. I also Didn't realize it at the time but the thread even states it is a rumor.

Just to clarify you are saying it is ok to bash other posters? Even after they clarified a mistake? I mean if that's the case ok, but I want to be clear on the rules.

Bottom line is your deflecting. All of what you are saying to excuse the attacks is irrelevant because he clarified his statement early in the thread. I was treated the same way and I stated exactly where and when I got the information from my first post. Someone just said Fisher confirmed on the radio In the thread, curious to see how that goes over now.

You seem to have missed that this whole thread is based upon something Erod says he heard Fisher say on the radio.

And you missed where I was referencing his orginal post which had no reference to him hearing it on the radio. Last I checked though some people here act like mind readers no one is. So people rightfully went after him for it then moved on to Fisher once it was established that's where he got it from.

Not deflecting in any way, shape, or form. I'm explaining to you why it happened.

Fact is, a lot of people start at the beginning of a thread and read down. And a lot of people react to things that are unfair or inaccurate initially and then race to post their disagreement. Explaining or backstepping later never has the same effect in a thread as stating your argument right in the first place as a result. There's a reason why people have phrases like 'you can't unring the bell' and 'you can't get the dan-snyder back in the horse.' It's because you generally can't.

EDIT: (though, in Dan Snyder's case, I'd be willing to at least try).

The real answer is People got upset because erod and I posted something that was negative about a player all of us are counting on to help the team. Not that he didn't immediately say he heard it on the Fan, if that was the case he wouldn't have been attacked anymore after he clarified it nor would I have been chastised and my integrity questioned after I backed up what he heard.
