How can you say that? It's not like we had a complete team overhaul.

Nothing changed with this team, we sucked it up royally at the end of last year, i mean some of the worse i have ever seen. This offseason brought about nothing new, more talk, getting rid of a few players, basically same style training camp and now the begining of the season is the exact same, talk, same problems on the field, same problems with the coaching staff, its all the same, nothing has changed, why would we expect the results to be different?

I repeat, last year is irrelevant to this year. Records do not carry over to the next season.

A complete overhaul is not needed for it to be irrelevant. The previous season is irrelevant to every single team, not just the Cowboys.

Yes, exactly, because each and every team starts over at 0-0. The good teams might start playing badly for any number of reasons and vice versa. But it's perfectly legitimate to try and ascertain and discuss what those reasons are what the team has done about them, which is what much of this thread is about.

We did all kinds of things that could have positively affected our tendency last year to make stupid mistakes (keeping in mind we were last in both giveaways and penalties). Have we done these? Our turnovers are up and down, still quite bad but not quite as bad as last year. Our penalties are better than last year but getting worse with each game.

No sir. Every team is a new team with new hurdles to face and previous years do not matter. Tom Landry had 6 straight losing years to start his tenure in Dallas and they were calling for his head. Clint Murchison responded by giving him a 10 year contract extension. The players finally realized they needed to buy into his methods which did not change, and the rattled off 20 straight winning seasons.

Each one that passed was irrelevant to the present year. Those are his own words in his book "God's Coach" by Bob St. John.
