DMN Blog: Expect the 'Boys best effort this week/Amendola's time coming to an end

Sure it does....

Fans can relate (not all of course based on race/ethnicity/background) to the small caucasian player that has tons of heart but was shorted in talent by the man upstairs.

Fans will naturally pull for the underdog and ESPECIALLY if they can relate to him. Its just human nature. And if you dont believe that you are either naive, fooling yourself or being PC.

Relating to a player is different then pulling for or against a player because of his race.

I can appreciate rooting for the underdog or because he went to Texas Tech or because I hate "fill in the blank" player but I believe in the best in us. Else there will be those who would pull against a player because he is black which would severely limit their sports viewing.

If you root against a player because he is a certain race/ethnicity then you have a problem bigger than football and will be rewarded accordingly when you kick...

i hope he gets on our practice team and gets another run next year. Just to raw like alot of the receivers we have on our roster that we have been bringing along for a while now.

I want Romo(not Bartel) throwing to him behind the 1st team O-line.
If he can't show up and/or dominate with the threes, why do you expect that to change if he's running with the 1s?

For a guy like Amendola to get a chance with the 1s or even the 2s, he's got to stand out with the 3s. Can't say he's done that with his limited chances in the games. He's still got a small chance in the 4th preseason game, but I wouldn't be too optimistic about it.

I agree with this. I do think he has the potential to be a quicker Crayton in the future, which is great IMO.

Did Carp do anything in Denver? I wasn't paying attention.
Per Mosley, the team thought he played better. Would need to find the thread to pull the blurb.

Edit:

  • Backup linebacker Bobby Carpenter bounced back nicely after a nondescript performance against the Chargers. He played in several sub-packages.
"If he keeps playing like that, you'll see him on the field a lot this season," said the source.

Without focusing in on him, I did noticed that he made a couple of good tackles. I will review the game again keying on whether or not he had any false steps or demonstrated any passivity.

???

He hasn't produced against the third stringers. Why does he deserve a chance to jump in against the 1st team?

He hasn't produced with third stringers either.

I think Owens would look bad with Bartel throwing to him.

But if the team isn't sold on him, ther's little need to do that.

It's almost embarrassing how often Nors takes on this entire board and wins.

Wow. Could of a least sprinkled in a little perspective.

Don't give Nors too much credit. He often takes contrary positions or makes wild predictions which go against conventional logic. Its almost embarassing when the majority of the board is proven right in those cases.

Anyone with a bit of common sense could see that Amendola was a long shot and that he had to show something in order to make the final 53. He hasn't done that, so his window of opportunity is dimming. Nors doesn't get props for that. He gets props for standing his ground, but not for that.

Since the starters will be playing 3 quarters do you think Felix will be getting some time with them and spelling Barber?

I must of missed something because Nors is not the only that had this perspective.

Ty Law's coming to Dallas for example.

More then likely. I think we will get a small glimpse of what we can expect from our team when we open up against Cleveland.

Naturally he is the only person who was not on that bandwagon who will get noticed.

What does that tell you?

For example?

Romo=Bartel? Or Johnson? He can't dominate when we have below sub-par QB's. He doesn't stand a chance. I've yet to see two QB's throw the ball any slower than these two. Geez. Brad cause he's old and Bartel cause he hasn't a clue.

I want to see what he does after the catch. That's his gig.
