DMN BLOG: Terence Newman: Relationship with Jessica Simpson takes away from Tony Romo

You do realize that cornerbacks occasionally give up passes, don't you?

...or would you like to trade for one that has never been beaten?

Newman is hardly one of our concerns, personnel-wise.
Thats not the point and I love Newman, the point is he knocking players and coaches down but he has things to work on himself. From his constant whining in the media you would think he plays a perfect game or he never gives up catches. You guys blast Roy for pointing the finger but Newman does it(specifically when he did it against Pat Watkins and Brian Stewart through the media) he somehow gets a pass for it.

I would love to keep Newman but the constant crabbing needs to stop. Or does he need to be reminded that he is an above 30 year old corner that has been hurt in back to back seasons and his replacements are already with the ballclub.

Where trying to become a team that doesn't backstab eachother but it seems like the release of TO has him in a tizzy. It's simple, either get on board or get the hell of the ship. Stop crying and start trying. Don't talk to the media about leadership, become one, that all I'm saying.

I'm not going any further until you can point out where he's "knocking" someone...or whining.

Try re-reading the blog.

Except that the entire first paragraph is completely wrong.

he's complained twice about the coaches not calling enough man coverage, all notably coming when the team's play has leveled off

now he's saying that Romo's outside life and the scrutiny that comes with it, is affecting his on-field play

even if you don't think anything that he's said has been negative, I would like to see a comment of his that didn't come off as if he was whining or pointing fingers (that lack of accountability comment), he talks alot, but none of it is about any good or positives

He wasn't saying that about Romo. The article title totally misconstrued what he was saying. He was saying how the constant talk about his girlfriend leads people to question him, when in fact he is a great quarterback.

article said:
I think that once he inherited the starting quarterback job and his relationship got into the national media attention, I think that that was something that definitely hurt and took away from Tony Romo being a great quarterback."

sounds like he thinks the relationship and following scrutiny is taking the shine off his play

How far you go is of no concern to me what is is the constant defending of a guy who simply needs to keep what he says about his coaches and QB in th lockerroom.

By the way he probably is right about Romo but it does nothing for the team to spill it out to reporters, nothing. But some of you are so concerned about anyone criticizing your favorite player, you can't see the forest for the trees.

What about when he threw Roy under the bus before the season even started. I think pretty much everything he says is true problem is he saying itv to the wrong people.

You, like many others here continue to say this.....but its just not the case.

That's not what he said....and this is getting exhausting.

How far I go?

I don't consider trying to explain to a few the meaning of a blog....."defending someone"
.

It is exactly what he's trying to say in a roundabout way. But I think you can overcome the exhaustion. You were able to defend TO for months without giving up.

I think you need to check yourself.

I'm by no means a TO advocate.

...and no, that's not what he's saying.
