Just watched the video. JJ certainly seems excited about Jaylon. He said the nerve is continuing to improve. Very exciting news!

I'd like to hear from some of his doctor's and trainer's on this. Not saying I don't believe Jerry, but I'd be curious to see how the medical experts felt compared to other cases they've dealt with.....

I think Jerry put himself on a leash......but Garrett and Stephen can tug on it. McClay gets his attention.

I strongly suspect they have a program for acquiring and keeping talent. And they've stuck to it lately. Jerry's been squeezed.

The War Room needs to pull another Johnny Manziel maneuver on Jerry if he tries to get Garrett. Don't get me wrong - I would love for him to be a Cowboy. But the cost just isn't worth it. Not even close.

It has me wondering for sure. The Cowboys biggest need - by far - lines up with this draft's best player - by far.

And striking gold with Dak Prescott means that you don't need to use a #1 pick to get a quarterback, a huge luxury.

Combine the value for trading Romo - whatever that is - and between #28 overall, and next year's #1, I wonder if the Wildcatter could or would pull it off?

You know Myles Garrett is a Texas kid, with good character, and the consensus top pick in this draft. Barring injury, I don't think you're going to find a safer bet than this young man.

Given the youth on this team, and the key pieces already in place, I think that Dallas could afford to swing for the fences here.

I wonder If browns trade #1 pick to a team who is high on Trubisky or Watson and go in full tank mode for the USC QB in 2018. I could then see the 49ers either taking the QB that wasn't taken or trading the pick to a team who wants a QB. Wonder if Romo is willing to play for the Bears. They have a pretty good Oline and a solid run game. They was 8th in fewest allowed sacks this past season and that was with a bunch of backup level QBs who cant read a defense and make the correct changes to plays like Romo.

Bears can then get their QB to groom with our 28th overall pick or trade up a few spots ahead of the Texans to get Mahomes or Kizer. But like you pointed out. Just something to wonder. Anything can happen on draft day.

It had me thinking about that 3-way trade that had been rumored. I know that Jerry Jones said that there was nothing to it, and that may very well be so. But, I could now see why someone may have speculated about it.

If that trade occurred, it could potentially get Dallas all the way to the #2 pick in the draft, and from there within easy striking distance of a deal for #1 overall and Myles Garrett. And one would have to assume that they would have a deal worked out with Cleveland before they ever made any deals.

Granted, it would suck seeing Romo in a Commanders uniform, but it would be great to see Myles Garrett in a Cowboys uniform.

That sums it up for me, atleast for now. Great post I actually did lol. Think I pissed off a roommate.. hopefully she doesn't put the Damn coffee pot in the fridge again with a post note saying " clean me" back to the topic, I'm not sure what's going to happen with Jaylon, not sure who to believe. I know he's a good kid that deserved a chance. We will either be beating ouselves up over this pick or be patting ourselves on the back for it. I thought it was too early to pick him and we should have traded down, if we could, after the Oklahoma State DE was gone. I hope Jaylon Smith makes me look stupid, I really do.

You never whats actually going on behind the scenes. They could deny everything about it just for it to be leaked 5 or 10 years down the road that Washington or San Fran backed out the deal the last second.

Myles Garrett is most likely completely out of the question but i have a good feeling that a trade up for Derek Barnett will be something we at least attempt to do. I know their are some on here who believe he will be better then Garrett in the pros due to how much he dominated SEC teams while Garrett fed on teams out of conference.

Yeah, nobody knows, could be something to it, could be nothing at all. But hypothetically, I could see why all three teams would want to do it and what each would be getting out of it.

I'm not sure. I know the cost is high obviously, but I think if they decide to truly go for it, there's no better, safer target than Myles Garrett.

Let the draft come to you. Don't chase the draft.

Also getting up from 28 to 1 would require more than 28 and a future 1st. in 2011 the Falcons moved up 21 spots and it took that year's 1st, 2nd and 4th round picks and the follow year's 1st and 4th round pick. We would be moving up 27 spots. So take those two 1st, that 2nd and those two 4ths and realize you'd have to give up even more. It's foolishness.

I definitely see where you're coming from and for the most part can't argue with your position. And, if the Romo compensation isn't enough to make a huge difference, there's no way I'd give up what you've mentioned being required.

But, again, given the team's need lining up with the consensus top talent, and that talent being as safe a pick as you will find, I wouldn't discount Jerry and the team at least discussing it.

Again, not for all of those picks you mentioned, but if there was a way that involved Romo and next year's #1 pick, I think they would consider it.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm not so sure if Garrett is as safe a pick as we think. The fact that someone did post proof that his numbers are inflated due to dominating lesser talented teams opposed to dominating SEC OT's scares me a little. I don't know though. I think that Barnett will be our target. But hey Browns are the laughing stock of the league for a reason. Maybe they do something stupid.

One thing u can say about Big D's war room strategy is that they have followed that mantra recently...and it's panned out pretty well. Even if Garrett turns out to be that transcendent player most think it's too much to give up @ this point. The secondary still needs to be addressed. A true successor for Witt. WR. All of these can be drafted this yr due to the projected talent pool along with an edge rusher w/o mortgaging everything chasing one player...

Anything you gained form "hitting" on Prescot you give up (and more) trading up to get Myles.

This draft is too deep to be trading up and we need all the defensive help we can get IMO. Not to mention possibly looking at WR, TE and ROT.

That would be such an unfair advantage for the Cowboys I'd make that deal in a NY minute. Possibly faster if I could. Watching the Cowboys manuver to make this happen would be like watching Kevin Costner in Draft Day.

That's right: this nonsense of trading up for MG is well....NONSENSE.

Again, I'm not advocating giving up a boatload of picks. I'm saying that if you can factor a Romo trade into the equation, I'd be willing to part with next year's 1st rounder if I had to in order to get Myles Garrett at #1.

Granted, that's a best case scenario in terms of draft equity, by far. To get that #2 overall, I'm sure Dallas would have to throw something in. I can't see Washington essentially making a Romo for Cousins deal straight up.

There is no doubt in my mind his nerve is responding. Listen to Jerry. It takes a simple test to watch improvements in a nerve. He will be on the field good to go.
