When's the last time Dallas even spent a 2nd round pick on a WR? Antonio Bryant? He's looking pretty good down in Tampa, even did here if he could keep his mouth shut. The rest have been later round picks and undrafted rookies.

Unless it was Maclin or Crabtree and we'd have to move up to get one of them, Jerry isn't drafting a WR before the 3rd round. Probbly the 4th since Rashad Johnson will be there in the 3rd.

Jerry would go get Holt or trade for another player like Braylon which I would have no quams about. Either would produce and pose a greater threat than Miles Austin. Even with Miles here we should be thinking about Holt or Braylon and possibly shipping Crayton and his big yap for a pick or in a player trade.

It took 2 or 3 different stops with teams, a drug suspension, and about 5 years for Bryant to finally get it.

2 reasons. He may not want to play there and they aren't looking for a 2-3 year WR over 30. They want a youngster like Austin who they are only speculating on for 2 days. When they ship him back here instead of giving us a 2nd everyone will get a reality check as to really what level of talent Austin really is.

Oh so you have austins future already pegged. You know he is going to be a bad player?

Interesting since he has progressed every year he has been on the roster and is a favorite of garrett and romo.

but then again, garrett and romo suck according to this place so maybe your right, austin sucks too.

I think that question is irrelevant. If Limas Sweed had been there in 2008 we would have taken him. Same in 2007 with Steve Smith out of USC. Just because we have not taken a WR in the 2nd round does not mean we haven't had our eyes on guys in the 2nd round.

You can add gregg jennings to that list. He was our guy until the packers took him one spot ahead of us and we then took fasano.

I forgot about that. 2006.

So 3 straight years we had our eyes on 2nd round WR options and lost out by someone taking our guy.

Yeah, he also looked 'good' in college while winning the Biletnikoff Award. Dallas drafting him was no scouting coup. They took a chance on a guy who had a known bad attitude. And he showed that same attitude in Dallas.

The fact is that Dallas has signed or traded for other team's malcontent receivers for years because they have been unable to draft their own.

Yeah.

I'm sure Holt is waiting by the phone for Jerry to call. That's why he hasn't signed anywhere yet, right?

And if they could get Braylon Edwards, whay haven't they?

Why hasn't anyone else?

The fact is that there are plenty of teams besides the Cowboys looking for receivers.

Why does everyone think Austin is so good?He isnt all that and he is injury prone.A second rounder for him would be worth it,we could get a nice speedy WR at 52,ala Desean Jackson.Every seems to forget that our number 2 will be Crayton anyway.

Harvin is off our Draft board. He's one of 3 completely removed and no chance we would take.

Could be a smoke screen? Jerry wishing he drops into the second round?

I would LOL if Austin left. I think we all just expected him to be here next year.

SURPRISE!

Oh man, if this goes down, does it pave the way for Dallas drafting Pat White? Dallas loves some QB's converted to wide-out.

I just wish the pick was higher. We could do alot with 2 2nd rders

Yes, because our 2nd round picks have been golden that past 10 years.

If Austin ends up going to the Jets, I entirely blame Jerry for this whole situation. HE was the one who threw Austin's name into the NATIONAL MEDIA about how he's basically going to replace T.O., and how the Cowboys have all these high hopes for him this season. Jerry should have shut his mouth and maybe none of this would have happened.

Well by that logic lets just stop picking in the 2nd rd period. Every year lets forfeit that pick since it obvious we have no idea what we are doing in that rd. You may want to change the 10 to 9 I think we did okay last year.

Jackson isn't in this draft. And had he been slightly bigger, Jackson would have went a lot earlier in the draft.

I don't think Austin is all that great, I just don't like the thought of being a farm team. Something about developing talent and letting it walk away just sounds foolish to me.

Hes a hard worker and has shown improvement every year. Letting him walk pretty much forces Dallas to use a pick on WR. Unless you go short term and look at the wash ups out there. Forced to pick a position is a bad spot to be in.
