welcome to the real world......grown folks with jobs have to be responsible....especially if others are involved...its selfish to assume that 5 minutes dont mean anything ..others may have a more complex schedule than yours and 5 minutes could mean money to them....you have no right to control their schedule by being late......

and you say it concerns you that Wade and Garrett are unable to control practice.....any team play, business function , or military operation requires discipline and timing.....well youve already said timing is over rated so that kinda screws the rest of the order

blah blah blah. Spare me the maturity crap. The ones that talk that garbage are typically the ones worried about that. I personally could care less.

If youre 50 and a moron then youre still a moron. I'd rather be young and productive. If me wearing my hat backwards and liking to play video games make you feel more 'mature' more power to you.

Youre the one that makes the 5 minutes important. How is it selfish on my part if I don't agree with that? I am supposed to think like you do and if I don't then I'M the one thats selfish? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. That 5 minutes could mean money to me.

I am well aware of how many places operate and in order to be socially acceptable you have to obey social norms. OTOH I reserve my right to think that production is much more important than punctuality. Personally i think its backwards when people get fired for being late while unproductive people retain their positions. Quite frankly its stupid.

I am not saying that time is unimportant. Its place on the hierarchy is skewed. Unfortunately I have a feeling that trying to have a meaningful discussion with you is a waste of time so I'm just going to leave it at that.

Oh and just because you cannot conceive of a manner in which temporal order is not paramount and still maintain discipline does not mean its not possible.

All I know is, if those sources are players, I would find out who and send them packing. If they feel it is their duty to spred the discord with the media instead of speaking up to the team and coaches, they are worse than Owens could ever be. He may be a pain in your arse, but he comes out in the open with it.

Yeah, at this point I'm not going to defend anyone. I have carried the shield and sword for Owens, but no longer.

I hate to say it because, on paper, we should still have a shot at going somewhere with this roster, but that would take an incredible turn around in attitude from everyone. Jerry to the last man on the practice squad. Its going to require a franchise wide epiphany and I am not real confident.

I say that if its more of the same in 2009 then blow it all up in 2010 when there is no salary cap.

I saw his last post. Best not to call someone a "pathetic liar" in public.

I am mad at myself that I wasn't around when this happened.

:bang2:

I think iJordanTaber also got the boot today or last night.

This may be the greatest 24 hour stretch in Cowboyszone history.

For me anyways, lol.

Jones acknowledged some players are late for meetings. However, he said sometimes a player is late because he has to meet his media responsibilities or had a legitimate excuse.

see now I see 3 problems with that Story.

#1 Jerry Jones and the piece i have above

#2 Wade Philips letting his players do whatever they want
players being fined pocket change for being late or not showing up to team meetings and rehab

#3 our players being babies and being babied by the Owner.
Players lost respect for so and so and Romo being a little baby when a teammate or coach calls him out about his bad play. these players(not all but some) just don't seem to care or want to win without putting in the work.

good luck with that attitude.....but hey if you fail in life you can always blame the man huh?

You know nothing about me, my lifestyle or my age........you playing Vids and wearing your hat backwards or whatever is pretty tame to my lifestyle so you can kill the strength of your youth chatter

you can blame whoever you want on the way things are all you want...but they are still that way

Possible ..just not realistic

i know you probably think everyone older than you is not "in touch" or "cool"
but as much as you dont want to except it the reality is ...life is the way it is .......not the way you want it to be......

as much as you think time is over rated and people should wait on you because your time is as valuable as theirs....thats why there are times put on functions so that everyone will be on same page and no ones time table will be disrespected...so if you are late it is disrespectful to others

I feel bad for some fans. It's like they chose a side when the season ended and they just won't admit defeat and join the side that can see clearly.

We have never heard about T.O. being late for meetings on a bunch of occasions. We have never heard specifics about the teams charter being late to take off for five away games. We have never heard that the fines were reduced to an amount that means nothing to these players.

We definitely didn't hear about Terrell Owens being late for a meeting during the prep week for the Eagles game in Philly.

And up until now, we hadn't heard how Romo had gotten so undisciplined in practice and the coaches did nothing about it. Add receivers' complaints to the mix and everything blew up. WOW!

And up until now, you hadn't heard how Wade Phillips tried upping the fines for player tardiness - trying to do what a coach does and instill some discipline - only to have Jerry Jones deny him of this coache's duty. Double WOW!

Detroit may have gone down as the worst team in hostory, going 0-16, but you could argue our team rivals theirs, that is, if you define "worst team" as "most underachieving", which is what our 2008 Cowboys were.

Wow.

If Jerry undercut Wade Phillips on those fines, what can he do?

If you sit a player out or don't start a guy, the player might run straight to your boss. Plus, the backup might get you roasted when you consider all the players that spent time on the injury list. Plus, the backup might get your quarterback killed if it is an offensive line player.

No wonder they got beat 44-6. I thought the Cowboys lost that game the moment Folk kicked the ball out of bounds. Now, it looks like they lost it before they even took off. The Titans left Vince Young at home when he was starting in 2007. Holding a plane an hour while someone is late is beyond ridiculous.

I never heard Jason Garrett say anything critical about Tony Romo in the media. He must have done it in private. Tony Romo plays the most important position on the team. The game is literally in his hands when the offense has the ball. If his skin isn't thick enough to take constructive criticism, then he needs to look for another job. I'm sorry. When you throw a long pick towards Owens, in double coverage, and call it a punt when Ed Reed is running it back, you need an attitude adjustment. Tell Big and Gurode that it's a punt while Ed Reed puts them in FG range. That play cost Dallas the lead and set the tone for the rest of the game.

With some of the Prima-Donnas on the offense, Jason Garrett had his hands full. Getting rid of Jason Garrett or Wade Phillips isn't the answer. The teachers don't need to be fired. The unruly children need to be put in their place or kicked out of class.

You don't know anything about me either. I don't care what your lifestyle is so spare me

Actually your entire stance is funny actually. My point is that people that always try and evaluate others maturity are typically the ones that are concerned about their maturity or more specifically there place in the hierarchy of things.

The beauty at the end of the day is that America is a meritocracy and all of your dogma about maturity is meaningless.

As for making and keeping appointments, I realize that you have to play the game. Thats all it is though playing the game.

Like i said a meaningful conversation with you is pointless. When did I ever say that making people wait on you is cool? When did I blame anyone? What i am saying is that people's need to put a specific time to everything and every event is the issue.

And again its entirely realistic. There was a time period without clocks. You may have heard of it. It only lasted for about 99.9% of human history. Are you suggesting that the Roman legions under Caesar were undisciplined? Oh wait it was impossible for people like Galileo, Copernicus, Socrates, Herodotus, or anyone else worth a damn previous to your precious timepiece to accomplish great things.

See thats the thing. I understand you have to play along with social conventions. I do it 5 days a week and sometimes on the weekend. OTOH I am savvy enough to understand that they are not the only way that works. Its one thing that is I get older that i find very important: not to become to pigeonholed within the familiar.

So you stay in your own little world thinking its the only way and I'll just disagree.

I believe Romo got lazy in practice. I believe it 100%.

Without anyone around like Parcells, David Lee or Sparano he had no one to keep him on a disciplined track. They molded him into a starting NFL QB from an undrafted Free Agent rookie.

Now the kid spent two seasons going backwards and freelancing. Everyone told him it was ok be because he was 'Favre like'. What they forgot to tell him was that Brett Favre has the most INT's in NFL history.

And Jerry fell right in line with Wade or vice versa about wanting the players to love them and cut the fines into nothing of substance.

This ship is sinking. Can it be saved?

It's like I've traveled back in time to the Barry Switzer years.

Buckle up folks, this has the potential to get bad net year. I'm talking 6-10 bad (if not worse). This has 1997 written all over it.

I didn't get along with him, but I still don't want to see him banned. Not my call but hopefully he can come back after a timeout or something.

Why do people instantly just dismiss an article like this?

Cause there aren't named sources?

Is it really so hard to believe that the huge failure of a season in 2008 can really be attributable to piss poor work ethic and an overall "screw it" mentality.

This team is all glitz and glamor. Its like a big giant, diamond and gold plated turd. Looks all fantastic and pleases the eye but when you get right down to the heart of it, its still a smelly rotten chunk of poop.

No shock to me at all. Any of that.

You know whats worse than all the stuff in the article being true?

It's that it's actually reported on. Garbage like this should be handled in house.

I don't care who the source is, player or coach, the person should be cut or fired, salary cap ramifications, relationships, or hurt feeling be damned, and if it's Jerry leaking this BS, it would be zero shock to me, he is an attention ***** and a hack GM, he should be ashamed if so.

I doubt it, unless we get a new coaching staff we're staring at 6-10 at best in 09

Jerry is also a flat naked liar. A big-arse liar.

He lied countless times right in fan's faces about the Pacman ordeal...saying pacman didn't have an alcohol problem...saying it was the bodyguard's fault.

I say ownership of a community team is a MUTUAL contract that Jerry Jones has reneged on.

He sure uses community money and community good will----and he SPITS in fans's faces!

Jerry needs community reprimand. Censor. Shame. The man is a wreck.
