At some point you draw the line. That tells me Jerry would rather save face than do what's right for the team.
Not so fast here. Jerry has always been known to have stood up for his players. He has also always paid the players that produced, not when stretching positional limits, but having produced on the field for the Cowboys. Jerry has never up and left in the cold, a character that at least had potential for forging a constructive character. He didn't give up on a player, if he also had potential to add while on the carpet. That is to the credit of Jerry as well.
No, Jerry doesn't cater to foul players, nor open the door to hooligans. That is an uninformed opinion from the start.
Jerry has set standard for teams and the industry, on team financial rights, team strengthening rules for equal rights and potentials. Both in the gate receipts and in sales around individual team markets.
At the same time, Jerry has brought in team support staffs that lead in what is offered to assist players in a profession that high inordinate public face as well as protected individual rights through court systems and ability to abuse legal rights as well. Simply, Jerry doesn't leave a single player without backing and firm support to overcome his own problems. It is a shame that in today's professional arenas, many players can even be led to water for their own good. But that is a mark upon today's fans and social support that also embraces criminal actions and ethics far below standards of our past.
As to proction of a Cowboys' career, there are no better strength and conditioning structures, facilities of any higher grade, nor supporting medical personnel and equipment to monitor from the point of injury; through rehab; and into developmental conditioning.
No, players are protected in every way possible, and because of the love for his people and sport, by Jerry Jones.
