DMN: Sporting News writer: Greg Hardy has rendered himself 'almost untouchable'

Well, he's never been convicted, suspended, or tasted positive for anything drug related.

Neither was Michael Irvin, Not one positive drug test in his entire career. Ever.

I'm sure the coke in that hotel room was strictly for the strippers.

Let's get honest, Jones probably got a ton of negative beatdown because of this and that is all there is to it. The player on the field is automatically our best lineman.

Who the heck cares....Garrett doesn't want him...Stephen doesn't want him...
Oh, and many of us don't want him either. Let it go.
We will sink or swim without Mr. Hardy thank you.

I already have let it go that we have no desire to have the most talent on the field to help this team win.

I'm sorry but, this guy couldn't carry DeMarcus Ware's jockstrap. He didn't show me much talent last year except how to quit on a team.
It's a long time till the 1st game. Marinelli and McClay will field a team for sure.

I find it interesting that the media and "fans" are more upset with hardy and rice, than the women who were the victims !
The woman Rice knocked out cold, she was evidently unfazed by it, as she married him after that incident ! lol
She is not upset with rice but fans and the media are ???

Then hardy, he has been villified more than rice, by the media and fans, and no one really knows what all happened that nite or why,
or who instigated it.
As far as i know he did not hit her with his fist, but did ruff her up.

And she too is evidently ok with it as she didnt show up for the court date, in fact she went out of her way to avoid it,
and seems to be very happy and now has seemingly come into some money.
So the 2 "victims" are not saying anything bad about the 2 guys , but the media continues on about it especially hardy, and the fans
too.
I would think Rice with the video we could see, and using his fist, would be the bigger villain, but no it is hardy.

Last season I got tired of the announcers, commenting on hardy and his incident every single game.
It was like it bothered some of them personally, and others felt they had to be political and bring it up.
So many judge and convict hardy, even though they were not there and dont know what all went down or why.

I think hardy could help the team in 2016, but I dont know all the details, about what he did or didnt do last season,
and neither does any other fans.
So I leave it up to them to either bring him back or not sign him again. either one is ok with me.

I think if they dont, it should not be because of the DV and bad press, but because of how he acted on the job.

What exactly about last year has you hot and bothered about Greg Hardy?

Irvin plead no contest to drug charges related to that incident. Meaning, he was found guilty.

Sign him if you think he can keep his shyte together, Jerry has already taken the PR hit last year and the players will forgive him if he turns back into the player he once was. Can him if it starts going south again.

if coaches aren't willing to go on record, they aren't going on record. but if none of the stuff is true, there would be no reason to not bring him back

And if a player did what he's being accused of having done, it should be public and the guy should never play again. But he should have been cut if and when he did it too. No excuse if they didn't.

and if you want to rail on the coaching staff for not doing that, fine. but at this point, it's clear *some* version of the events being reported are true. way too talented for not one team having any interest what so ever, if none of the reports are true.

It's clear the coaches had 0 say regarding Hardy. He was Jerry's pet and to this day they can't say a negative thing about him. They're obviously terrified.

If we don't go DE in the draft, I can see us bringing in Hardy for another 1-year deal.

I wish that another team would sign him so that we don't have to keep hearing about this idiot still being an option for us.

He isn't the missing piece for a Super Bowl.

Yeah… But there's a reason no other team has signed him… there must be a lot more truth to some of these "stories" we keep hearing about him, despite what some people want to believe.

What's funny is you here all this stuff, being late, parties, etc., yet Marinelli would gush about him every chance he got, and Jerry said he was a leader. Which one is it? Who's not happy with him, JG? Bisachia? Who?

When, in the history of the NFL, can you recall a coach publicly denouncing a player? Coaches, front office personnel, scouts, etc., do not publicly criticize a player after he's been released or his contract has expired. It may have been on very rare occasions, but as a general rule, it just doesn't happen. Of course Marinelli's not going to say anything bad about him… What purpose would it serve? Same for Jerry… Or Jason…

Just once, I'd like to see one if these articles actually provide some solid examples of bad behavior rather than taking the easy, lazy course quoting something "reported" elsewhere.

Is it too much to ask that a purported journalist do some level of work to support what they're claiming in a story?

Amen my brother!

Yeah… But there's a reason no other team has signed him… there must be a lot more truth to some of these "stories" we keep hearing about him, despite what some people want to believe.

The reason is simple. Who the heck would want a guy that the Cowboys don't want to bring back. Us not wanting to sign him says everything.

You don't know much about victimization.

Nothing is clear to me because nobody has made them clear. That's the problem.

He is a woman beater.........only way a team would give him a shot is if they thought he was good for 15+ sacks.

Hardy showed he isn't, thus he is not worth any team getting destroyed in the media for signing a woman beater.

Besides, it looks a little hypocritical for the NFL to be doing public service announcements with their "NO MORE" campaign with players like Elie Manning just staring into the camera and then to have teams hand players involved in domestic abuse million dollar contracts. That is why players like Ray Rice and Greg Hardy basically have the "Scarlett mark" now and everybody avoids them like the plague.

Why was an accessory to murder like Ray Lewis given such a huge pass, and not only that, but graced the cover of Madden and got hired as an analyst...and is still celebrated?
Guess roughing up a trespassing woman who is in a drug induced rage and trying to extort money from you and then being exonerated of charges by due legal due process is worse than murder. Same for knowingly breaking rules by under inflating balls, lying about it, and winning a championship. Guess the league cares far less about the integrity of the game and due process than it does protecting certain teams and players.
I say all this tongue in cheek and I'm not a Hardy apologist it's just that I think the hypocrisy and selective demonization by the league and media is just ridic and hugely hypocritical.
