You keep mentioning these alleged poor behaviors, such as starting fights (as if there were a multitude of them) with other teammates, but providing no legitimate sources for them. Were they fights or simply emotional scuffles that often occur in practices? Was it more than the one sideline event with Dez and the special teams coach magnified during the Giants game after the special teams fiasco? After the 9/11 "joke" occurred, was there any further Twitter communication that caused any controversy? Or was that just the immature behavior that was expected but in this particular context never discussed, which was after the fact was subsequently taken care of? You suggest that Witten didn't want him here to begin with - maybe because he feels strongly about DV and didn't have all the details about the situation - but don't mention high character teammates like Sean Lee saying Hardy was not a detriment to team chemistry. You also allege that Garrett went to "great lengths" with Hardy before he was signed, but don't explicate upon what that entails. Were these great lengths comparable to the same great lengths Garrett took producing a winning team last year?

And again, the team not signing him right away could signify nothing other than they could be deliberating about whether his baggage is still worth handling from a PC standpoint. The fact that other teams haven't shown interest or signed him either signifies nothing either since the same thing happened last year. Someone most likely will sign him if the Cowboys don't, but they'll likely get him on the cheap and under the radar, and probably won't face as much scrutiny as he did here.

No one suggested it was a "conspiracy" against him. Simply that a lot of the controversy that surrounds him in the media is agenda driven nonsense and unfair magnification.

Why was an accessory to murder like Ray Lewis given such a huge pass, and not only that, but graced the cover of Madden and got hired as an analyst...and is still celebrated?
Guess roughing up a trespassing woman who is in a drug induced rage and trying to extort money from you and then being exonerated of charges by due legal due process is worse than murder. Same for knowingly breaking rules by under inflating balls, lying about it, and winning a championship. Guess the league cares far less about the integrity of the game and due process than it does protecting certain teams and players.
I say all this tongue in cheek and I'm not a Hardy apologist it's just that I think the hypocrisy and selective demonization by the league and media is just ridic and hugely hypocritical.

it is all about the NFL "image" and how sponsors feel about things, when big tv sponsors threaten to pull ads, the
NFL had to do things to appease them.
Hardy and rice did the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the Rice video was what got sponsors riled.
I think Rice and hardy were blacklisted, and jerry hired hardy when he wasnt supposed to.
Then every game hardy was talked about and the DV brought up, then the pictures were released magically in mid season.

Ray Lewis was back in a time where nfl did not care much about what players did and the whole image thing.

The online coverage changes things, if a player did what hardy or rice did, back in 2000, it would maybe make the news one time,
and never get online.
but now days, do anything, and it will be all over the web.

The "guns ablazing" tweet is mentioned here, also.

Or was that just the immature behavior that was expected but in this particular context never discussed, but after the fact was subsequently taken care of? You suggest that Witten didn't want him here to begin with - maybe because he feels strongly about DV and didn't have all the details about the situation - but don't mention high character teammates like Sean Lee saying Hardy was not a detriment to team chemistry. There's a reason guys like Sean Lee are considered "high character". One of them, is that they don't throw ANYONE under the bus, for any reason. And, for the record, Lee was addressing that question directly. He wasn't volunteering information about Greg Hardy or using his opportunity with the media to sing the praises of Greg Hardy. He took the high road (as a high character player does) and got past the line of questioning as gracefully as he could without unintended contradiction of what direction the actual organization may reflect at a later date.

And again, the team not signing him right away could signify nothing other than they could be deliberating about whether his baggage is still worth handling from a PC standpoint. The fact that other teams haven't shown interest or signed him either signifies nothing either since the same thing happened last year. Someone most likely will sign him if the Cowboys don't, but they'll get him on the cheap and under the radar.

No one suggested it was a "conspiracy" against him. Simply that a lot of the controversy that surrounds him in the media is agenda driven nonsense and unfair magnification.

This tells me all I need to know about Greg Hardy and his trajectory with the team. It continued to spiral downward from this point:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ed-greg-hardy-askjerryjones-article-1.2446618

Now, people can look at all of these incidents in a vacuum and all singularly and say "What's the big deal?". That would be ignorant, to say the least. The Greg Hardy situation has to be looked at in it's entirety even going back to his college days, draft position, and subsequent pro career. The guy has been a walking red flag for almost 10 years (and possibly before then but I don't know for certain so I won't speculate). Those who choose to refuse to take all of that information into account and still not understand why we aren't jumping all over this golden opportunity to sign the mighty Greg Hardy are like babies learning to walk. They watch all the other babies get up on their feet and walk to the other side of the room, look down at their own two feet and ask themselves but how do I get there? They choose to ignore their own two feet and expect someone else to hold their hand and get them there.

You can either choose to accept the situation is for what it is or you can wait for someone to take your hand and walk you through it. It doesn't matter to me either way.

But, I will say, we have cookies on this side of the room. :p

Coleman is off the team because he is a lazy slug. Hardy told him to pick up the pace at practice and Coleman took offense to it. I see no problem.

The Dez thing the way that he carries on is an interesting interpretation.

Seems the part where Jerry took personal charge of Hardy's circumstance is left out after being 'peppered' and outside of tweets there is nothing.

How about some actual criminal activity? And if you think the coaches are against players getting on each other to keep the pace up at practice then I think you are clueless.

Sure, if you choose to ignore guys like Darren Woodson. Like I said the ONLY evidence required, so far, is that Hardy is unemployed in a league starving for pass rushers. Again, if you need someone to hold your hand through the thought process that's on you. But, it's obvious Hardy has dirt on his hands that a gallon of bleach couldn't remove, at this point. If you need the break down of the chemical compound of that dirt for this to make sense to you, then power to you. Some don't.

What did Woody say? It's not lost on me that you ignored my points about Coleman and Dez.

You're counting your chickens before they hatch. Season starts in September. It's not even summer yet; teams haven't drafted. What is obvious to me is that there has been a national media firestorm of bad press which boils down to groupthink as we are now detailing. I found tons of stuff looking for Woody's alleged quotes on Hardy.

Whether or not it's fair or not is besides the point. Fact is that sponsors and their money talk in the NFL and any team that signs him has to manage that. I don't know what you think that proves beyond the perception. Wagging the dog is what the press tries to do. A big part of critical thinking to me is not allowing yourself to be wagged.

What I find hilarious is the idea that Hardy's situation is media created. The guy was a turd in college. A turd off the field. Selected 175th overall with 1st round talent and managed to single-handedly mangle his shot a redemption with the only team willing to give him an opportunity, yet magically he's managed to just be a poor misunderstood product of a media out for blood (which they are, but Hardy is the victim of his own circumstance, not the media's).

I could care less about Coleman or the Dez situation in singularity. You're right Coleman was a lazy SOB and he, deservedly, isn't playing football right now. But as I stated before Hardy's situation isn't about singular incidents. It's also funny that you choose to ignore all of the smoke that's coming from Valley Ranch regarding Hardy and choose to set your focus on only the things that have been made public, as if things behind the scenes should have no bearing.

I haven't been wagged at all. There are things that have happened behind the scenes that have turned the organization sour on him. All of these things have been alluded to but not made public. I don't need for them to made public to see that the teams interest, at this point, isn't even lukewarm.

I have speculated on what I think may have happened and had two people reach out to me through PM and email that said I have no idea how close I am to the actual truth. Now, does that make any of this a lead pipe lock? Not at all. But I'll trust what they are telling me as I didn't reach out to them they reached out to me. Could their "sources" be wrong? ABSOLUTELY. The team's and the rest of the league's actions, so far, indicate that Hardy truly isn't worth the trouble. People can take that for what it's worth. I couldn't possibly care less.

As for Woody's comments on Hardy, all I know is that it was reported by Broadus (sp?) that Woody had intimate knowledge of the situation and he speculated that Woody MAY spill the beans. He didn't (maybe, rightfully so, he didn't think it was his place).

As for counting my chickens before they hatch, I'll make my wager now. Nothing extravagant. $20.00 gift card. Heck even a donation to a charity of our choice. You in or you wanna just join the sit and whine because they won't tell me group?

 So Broaddus said that Woody might spill the beans but didn't gets you to "what Woody said." Now we also have supposed emails saying you're 'close to the truth.' Funny how these people never contact the people that could use convincing but instead preach to the choir.

That is about all I need to know. What you should know is I barely skimmed that wall of text. I doubt many read it. Machismo nonsense like betting bores me. That you fall back on that is also telling.

Choose to believe what you wish. Hardy won't be re-signed and I'm content with that. You can live in the world of disbelief and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm fairly certain in my convictions and you're still searching for answers. Have fun with that. Que sera sera.

A claim without basis is to be dismissed. All you have is supposed hearsay that you only allude to and tweets. That Broaddus thing is just gold. Hearsay of hearsay of hearsay.

I think your problem is you have no idea how to make a compelling argument. This is the internet. I don't know you and taking things people say here on face value is foolishness.

You're wasting your time arguing with these clowns. Hardy could be an "axe murderer who kills babies" and there would be a gaggle of guys
on this board who would still cheer for Jerry to sign him up. It doesn't matter what he does as far as some are concerned because they
live in their own delusional fantasy world. I'm sure there are better uses of your time than trying to convince these keyboards...
Take a break and have an awesome afternoon.

Again, you're searching for answers and I'm not. Have a blast. That's the only argument that I have. Convincing you or anyone else of anything isn't a requirement nor not an objective. You choose to believe as you wish. I'm not trying to bring you or anyone else to any side of the table. Just joining a discussion on a message board. Good luck in your quest for the good fight.

And those "words that you live by" quite literally means that no explanation by anyone (including Greg Hardy) would satiate your quest for the truth. Quite possibly the dumbest words to live by on the entire planet. Go ahead and toss out the educational, judicial and honor system altogether. Brilliant! You must be a blast at parties.

What can't be ignored is the fact we have no significant pass rush and we aren't beating the door down to sign Hardy; and no one else is either. That is a compelling argument there is something significant (to say the least) going on.

What I have heard which is hearsay and of interest and not fact is he has pissed Garrett off by treating him in a very poor way publically. My guess is you could say anything within reason to Garrett in private and it would be discussed. But you don't call your coach out and often live to fight another day.

Personally, I wish he would apologize to his teammates and the coach publically and at least Garrett privately and perhaps we could move on from this.

To some the bolded part is enough "proof".

I understand people's need to have to the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Absolutely nothing wrong with that line of thinking. But to look at the situation and just conclude that the Cowboys are ignoring the biggest need on the team with the most qualified talent available and are ignoring that option just to be obtuse or thrifty is mind blowing, to me.

There is smoke. No doubt about it. I don't need to know if it's mesquite or oak. It's there and impossible to ignore.

It means not in words. I get the irony given the medium but the notion still applies. You have no basis but unsubstantiated claims.

I'm saying there is no objective reason to believe what you are saying. One claim is what Broaddus said that someone else could claim. The other is unprovable and gratuitous. It's not lost on me that you are not going to change your mind and I'm hardly going to insist you reveal your alleged sources.

Going from there to how he is putting undo onus on the coaches, martyring them, was a nice touch.

Like I said the ONLY evidence required, so far, is that Hardy is unemployed in a league starving for pass rushers. .

That ignores the fact that even if Hardy was a choir boy with no baggage (he isn't) the negotiation isn't cut and dried. Guys like Cedric Thornton and Alred Morris are cut and dried negotiations. You know their performance, their past pay, what price it will take to sign them etc.

Hardy was paid 13MM guaranteed, then 13MM on a completely incentive based contract. Is his agent asking for that kind of money again? Is he asking for guaranteed money rather than incentives?

You don't know one way or another. But your argument seems to be Hardy is willing to play for the minimum and no one will pay it. The off the field stuff is an issue for sure, but you have no idea what else is at play.

But it's not, and I gave a specific argument for this. This was not happening last year, so if it's not happening this year either, then nothing can possibly be said about this being a contributing reason as to why there is no change.

That is a lot of words to basically say not much of anything. Smoke and sworn testimony? You aren't even talking about the matter at hand anymore.

No one is saying Hardy's market is rosey. The press backlash has been going on for two and a half years now. You don't need more than that. It doesn't justify everything else you are saying.
