DMN: Watkins: Bengals pleased with ex-Dallas Cowboys safety Williams' workout

I just want to know what happened to "all those teams" who will "line up to sign Roy" after the Cowboys released him?

Another ridiculous argument from the pro-Roy crowd.

Man, am I glad he's gone. Too bad an NFC East team isn't foolish enough to sign him, because Romo, Witten and gang would have a field day "targeting" Mr. Williams.

People never miss a chance to get a jab in... Give it up already, he's gone.

Tru dat...I can't even understand why this is even a thread, why do I have to know a former cowboy is trying out for the bungles.

I think a guy who played seven or so years for the team and is still a viable NFL player should merit at least the same amt of attn as a QB who only played here for 3 and is scrapping to catch on with a semi-pro team five years after being released.

So the Bengals still havent signed Roy yet???

Dam, thats freaking sad if the Bengals say no thanks to Roy. Thats like freaking rock bottom when the Bengals dont want you.

This is starting to look like is Zimmer doing Roy a favor and trying to help generate interest despite the Bengals maybe not wanting him. I expect Roy's problem is the salary issues -- tons of teams would want him for a small money no risk deal but Roy likely keeps playing the "makes sense for my family card" -- which is code for "I don't like the game enough to play for a contract where I have to prove myself"

Good God RW has hit rock bottom.

He's just trying to find a job. I don't see how this indicates he's scraping the bottom of the barrel. Once he hits the CFL circuit, then I will agree.

Regardless of what anyone here thinks of Cincinnati, to me it was a logical choice. He knows Zimmer, Zimmer loves him and they need a safety. Just because their uniforms are ugly and it is a poorly run franchise is no reason to shy away. Their money is as good as anyone else's.

Plus, it is not like he's got the entire league chasing him down for his services. This is about what I expected him to do.
