Fans who only watches one team play believe in the myth that "elite" QBs play mistake free and never throw bad passes. Rodgers is one of the best QB to ever play. And as you can see, he only throws perfect passes. :muttley:

Funny...I don;t recall anyone claiming that.

I’ve been going to bat for him in recent years against the Dak Haks but in another thread been arguing with a fan I actually agree on many issues but he believes Prescott has become Elite and in Top 5 of QB’s in the league.

He even asked me what 5 QB’s are better. Which was an easy response. Prescott is arguably by most sound analysts and critics closer to a Top 10 QB, not Top 5. Which being in the next best group isn’t a bad place to be .

The argument stemmed from a basis narrative of his that Elite QB’s were a necessity to being a consistent contender in Cap era. Which is another argument within itself . There are exceptions to that rule as well. But the argument initiated with criticism of franchises with less playoff success this era. We actually agree to a point on that basis.

And then he said Dak has become Elite. Even saying that he had bashed him earlier in his career. Are there other fans who also believe he has become Elite? I thought besides the extremes on both sides of the Haks and Homers that most felt he was closer to Top 10 to above average . Enough to build around and hopefully have more success.

Like most franchises except for a handful who have an Elite QB, you have to build around average to above average QB’s. No shame in that . Anyway, curious where the vibe is at this time . Not interested in hearing from the extremes. Thanks
Your view point reflects mine 100%
This would be a great poll question !

A "Cowboys fan" that complains that other Cowboys fans aren't bashing QBs from other teams for their lack of success?

If you want to see them get bashed I suggest you don't look for it on a Dallas Cowboys forum.

Dak is the Dallas Cowboys problem. Josh Allen and Justin Herbert are not.

It still boggles my mind that some of ya'll can't wrap your head around why Dak (The QB for the Dallas Cowboys) get's talked about so much on a Dallas Cowboys forum.
You're in a cult, sir.

"Talked about" is perfectly fine.

"Bashed endlessly" is a different story.

Cult members liks you can't STAND the reality that Dak is a top 10 QB. So you use this forum to cope, spreading your ignorance around for other like-minded cult members to bask in.

You're as low as NFL "fans" get.

I've literally seen YOU talk about Justin Herbert and Josh Allen on this forum, while trashing Dak as being inferior to them.

But cult members like you are also HUGE cowards, so you back down from the "what has Dak won??" comparison with Herbert/Allen. Utterly pathetic, but that's par for the course with you.

NFL players, coaches, scouts and execs already humiliated you by ranking Dak in their top 10s AGAIN this offseason, after you ASSURED us that wouldn't be the case after the 49ers playoff loss.

OOOPS! Another L for the absolute worst poster on this forum!

Nobody really believes that. If he played for Washington every single person who says that would call him a fraud.

Just laugh at them and move on.

Exactly. We should've taken your suggestion and traded away the next 3 first etc for Carson Wentz.

Imagine if we had gotten the "next Tom Brady."

Dak is a top 10 quarterback in my opinion. There are only like 3/4 elite quarterbacks in the NFL now. Mahomes, Burrow, Rodgers, and maybe Allen now are elite.
I think Trevor Lawrence will soon be joining that conversation of elite - he was highly regarded when drafted. Too bad he plays for the Jaguars.

BYE!!!

Dak will still be making at least $40 mil/year to play football in 2 years.

And you will still be...... well, you.

I'm so sorry.

This Dak debate reminds me of the song “Stuck in the middle with you”…

“Clowns to the left of me
Jokers to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you”

Dak is good but not elite, Dak is a great leader, but not always the most accurate passer, Dak is a winner but hasn’t won the big game yet…etc, etc.

Most objective fans, in my opinion, will acknowledge Dak is a good quarterback and can play at an elite level at times but can also be inconsistent.

The clowns and jokers are the “haters and fanboys” that argue all the time about Dak and the rest of us are in the middle and hope Dak can be good enough but will cheer him on as he is our QB.
Good catchy tune. I always thought it was George Harrison, it sounded so much like him singing and seemed like his kind of song too. Then a buddy told me it was somebody called Steelers Wheel. Now all I think of when I hear it is that scene in Tarantino's first movie where Michael Madson is torturing and cutting that cops ear off.

Dak is not elite. Everyone has different categories but for me.. the 'elite' tag is reserved for guys who consistently change the game, elevate those around them and define how their position is played.

So a guy like Rodgers is still elite for me.. because no matter what he had around him.. no matter what is going on.. Rodgers kept GB relevant even when they shouldn't be.. he made careers for so many receivers.. he suffered behind woeful OLines and found a way. Brady (no matter how he goes this season) is elite because he produced for 17 years..

Then you have the guys dominating right now.. Mahomes, Allen, Herbert

Dak isn't elite because there has never been a point in his career where you would pick him first 'off the wall'.. he hasn't won anything of note.. he needs a large supporting cast, he hasn't shown the ability to win big games even when his team is playing badly. He has none of the characteristics of an elite player for mine.

Dak is an above average QB.. and could win us a SB if he is used correctly and has a 'great' game at the right time.

Well said.

At present, there are exactly 2 elite QBs in the NFL, Mahomes and Allen. Brady and Rodgers are no longer elite. Burrow is knocking on the door, as is Herbert.
Elite isn't about what a QB has done, it's about how he plays.

Brady and Rodgers were elite, they are elite no longer.

The guy the original poster is speaking about is me. I said that Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and Hurts(but I need to see him more than 1 year, but he is likely MVOP... thats not elite? And I added Dak.

I said just like you.... Brady and Rodgers are no longer "Elite." Herbert? I thought he would be, but sorry, cant put him there... and if he is considered Elite, what does he do that is so much better than Dak.

But, Lets say you dont call Dak "Elite," after Burrow, Mahomes, Allen (who hasnt played so great this year) and Hurts(based upon this one season) who the hell can you claim to be clearly better than Dak? Keep in mind, those that want to call me a Dak homer are talking out of their rear. I used to have "Dak Prescott, Wr Killer," as part of my signature.

What exactly is Elite anyways? To me, it is a top 5 guy. You cant say their are only 3.... well, I guess you can.

I agree they both are at the end, As for Allen? I think he is close but have a hard time putting him in that category. Burrow I do agree is close

In BUrrow's second year he completed 70.4% of his passes for 4611 yards, 34 tds and 14 ints.
This year he is completing 69% of his passes will probably just miss 5k yards, will have about 40tds and 12 ints. If that isnt elite, I dont know wat is. In Josh Allen's 5 seasons (including this year) he will have had 1 season that approaches those 2 seasons from Burrow.
