Elite is way too widely thrown around here. No one ever thought Dak was elite. They thought he was really good. Elite is the pinnacle. Right now Mahomes is elite. Maybe Burrow. Maybe Allen. That’s it. Anyone else that thinks different is a dummy.

Dak is a good QB. Top half of the league. He fluctuates a bit but on the whole his is a good QB. Period.

The blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. The reality is they had a great draft the last 2 years. I count 10 guys that are contributing. Parsons changed the whole defense. McCarthy is a professional coach. That why this thing is finally working.

I’ve been going to bat for him in recent years against the Dak Haks but in another thread been arguing with a fan I actually agree on many issues but he believes Prescott has become Elite and in Top 5 of QB’s in the league.

He even asked me what 5 QB’s are better. Which was an easy response. Prescott is arguably by most sound analysts and critics closer to a Top 10 QB, not Top 5. Which being in the next best group isn’t a bad place to be .

The argument stemmed from a basis narrative of his that Elite QB’s were a necessity to being a consistent contender in Cap era. Which is another argument within itself . There are exceptions to that rule as well. But the argument initiated with criticism of franchises with less playoff success this era. We actually agree to a point on that basis.

And then he said Dak has become Elite. Even saying that he had bashed him earlier in his career. Are there other fans who also believe he has become Elite? I thought besides the extremes on both sides of the Haks and Homers that most felt he was closer to Top 10 to above average . Enough to build around and hopefully have more success.

Like most franchises except for a handful who have an Elite QB, you have to build around average to above average QB’s. No shame in that . Anyway, curious where the vibe is at this time . Not interested in hearing from the extremes. Thanks

Then there is tier 2 which Dak falls in. Top 10 easy for me.

Sure you do but good stats typically contribute to winning but it takes a complete team to win big

Why are posts like this and the opposite even allowed?
Who the hell actually wants to keep arguing? At what point do people realize that every argument supporting Dak and every derogatory comment bashing him has already been repeated 50 times.

And don’t tell me to just ignore the post. Everything on this site goes to Dak, like there isn’t an entire team of players who help or hurt us every week. Why don’t we just sticky a damn thread titled “Dak” and make people argue there?

Dak is NOT elite. He can play elite, but he is NOT top 5. Just outside the top 5. I have only heard 1 or 2 homers claim he is elite. Its as ridiculous and saying he is average.

I like that . Dak isn’t Elite but he can play Elite.

No doubt he has stretches where he does. As well as some he doesn’t. IMO in order to move up to next level needs more of those Elite stretches on the biggest stages.

And there’s been at least 2 Homers in this thread I’ve seen saying he’s Elite or top 5. I’m sure there’s more out there.

IMHO, we have significantly fewer people that think Dak is elite than we do those that say he sucks. There are very vocal fans that blame every loss on Dak Prescott, and many normal fans are tired of hearing it. There is a long list of equal or lesser QB’s that have won, or at least played in, Super Bowls.

We're 7 years in and he's proven that he's just good enough to get the team to the Divisional Round. Nothing more.

We HOPE he is good enough to win with, but until we actually win something with him then it's all make believe.

Agreed Dak is not elite. But its teams that win the big one, not QB's. Until you understand this simple point, your QB opinions will always be off.

My point was the back and forth debates in reference to the song and the constant lamenting and arguments about him. My actual opinion was that he overall is a very good quarterback. Yes, teams win or lose big games but quatorbacks are generally the biggest difference makers, especially in the playoffs.

Right, wrong or otherwise he will be judged on how well he performs in big games and if the Cowboys win…now that is fact.

I am much closer to a Dak “fanboy” than I am a hater. My daughter even bought me his jersey for Christmas….shhh, please don’t tell anyone
