No Doubt!
Hell yes pre 68 GCA,,, those .30 carbines were going for around
$19.95( minimum wage was something like .50-.60 cents per hour though) out of the back ad pages of magazines
Yep. I have a couple of those as well, although they are shooters. Hopefully all the rumors are true and we will soon see some Garands from the CMP. I know they are getting all the old 1911's they will be selling those off. Most likely going to be quite a few of the 1911's in pretty sad shape, if the ones I saw when I was in are any indication. Still be really good platforms for builds and such though.

That was a major ' power buy' your father pulled off Clos.
In my dusty recollections you might want to google search that particular models ser# range as I recall something about a bad batch of weaken recievers ,again in my dusty recollections I'm thinking it's that manufactured model,,I've been wrong b-4.

Thanks for the heads up Melon amigo, I'll check it out

You ever meet those dudes from Mountain Monsters? They are supposed to be from the area...

John Tice Aka Trapper is basically my neighbor and used to help out with our high school cross country team back in the 90's. Wild Bill also lives close by and is exactly as he portrays himself on tv. Both are really nice guys. In fact I'm working with Trappers nephew right now.

Not ALL that old (1989), but I have a Joint Command military unit deactivation coin that is special. At the time, I was in the top secret intel world, working in West Germany, at a top secret facility, staffed by NATO joint forces...it was an underground German bunker. The USA part had a special facility in there whose sole purpose in life was All Things Done to monitor the Berlin Wall, including, well, everything. When the wall fell on November 9th, 1989, we literally showed up to work the next day wondering what to do for work? Our unit was soon deactivated, and we were transferred back to the parent unit at Ramstein Air Force Base.

And we received an official unit deactivation coin. So yeah, that is pretty special to me. :)
