Do you really want to pay a 30 year old middling QB 50 million?

Dak is 2-6 in win or go home games. That’s the stat that stands out the most. One of those games was against the Eagles with their 3rd string secondary in. In 8 years he’s 2-6 in WOGH games.

Posting great stats against the regular season is fun to watch but Win Or Go Home games is what defines a QBs worth.

Maybe get dak to agree to be traded to the Browns. He'll thrive there because it's a run first team, it won't all be on his shoulders and he won't have to get too scared before games. And he gets to reunite with coop and Callahan. Plus Stefanski is a good play caller.....he might just say yes!

The Dak haters come out 6 times a year it seems. Let’s tell the truth for once guys, Dak is second team All-Pro and is not middle of the pack or below average. He played like a top 3 quarterback this season.
Against garbage competition. Played like below avg QB against Arizona, SF, Buffalo and GB. Played like a mid tier QB against the eagles game 1 and against Miami. No yot mention other games in the season, where we won and he still looked like a mid tier QB.

We don't hate him. Playoff win hates him.

I really don’t care what they pay any QB. Why should I? It’s not my money.
If he’s the best QB available to them, pay him. If they think they can bring in a better QB, then do that, but as a fan, I don’t give a hoot about any player’s salary.
Lol and on game day you will complain because we don't have hall of famers across the board on defense.

How hard is it to understand that in the NFL there is a salary cap and if you pay one player that amount, you are banking that said player can overcome the teams lack of overall talent.

The real way to win is build a great team and strike while the QB is young and cheap. San Francisco is the real contender because of this.

But I get it... You don't really care.

Paying Dak never made sense.
I'm not sure if Mahomes is worth that kind of money either.

No.

Dak has this team over a barrel right now.
I don’t think so. The Cowboys could designate him a June 1st cut. I believe Dak has a base salary of $18M. That would be subtracted from his cap hit. That leaves about $40M dead cap hit over two years. $20M cap hit this year, $20M cap hit next year. It can be done.

Sad to say, but the current contract is devastating. There are no good options.
This. We are really locked in already.

Letting Prescott walk would be even more devastating to the immediate cap situation than extending him. The hard facts: if we want to keep Parsons and Lamb around...gotta extend Dak.

And though most don't want to hear it...Dak was an absolutely legit Pro Bowler this season.

This team's fate is solely pegged on what they do with Dak.
If they keep and extend expect the misery to continue and the franchise to split in half with America's team slowly sinking to the bottom of the NFC East.
GM time is correct but considering who our GM is well you get the idea here..............

P.S. No coaching change will matter if #4 is the QB
And he will be QB still... because this organization is the most valuable franchise because of Jerry's business smarts.
But the most mediocre team, because of his football stupidity.

With these Jones boys, we have all learned to expect mediocrity at its finest.
Heres hoping for a miracle..............

The Dak Prescott experiment should be over in Dallas. This guy has proved he is not a franchise QB, so he should not be paid like one. Yes…he has impressive stats during the season when nothing is on the line; but plays tight and tentative in big games. He was horrible in the GB game; he could have easily thrown 4 INTS, if the defenders hadn’t dropped 2 of them; he overthrew his targets and only started moving the ball when GB started subbing out their defensive starters.
Let Dak walk and see what Trey Lance brings to the table; at least there will be cap money available to upgrade the talent on the team. Dak has had talent around him and a top 10 defense now for a few seasons…and has nothing to show for it. It’s not like he is going to take his game to the next level after 7-8 years in the league, he has plateaued. The Cowboys need more from him than he is capable of delivering.

Everybody knows Dak struggled against zones.
It's not fixable.
His accuracy is inconsistent, you'll find that in his scouting report.
In order to defeat a talented zone, you need to fit the ball into tight spots CONSISTENTLY.
Dak cannot.
Seems like a great guy, love to be his teammate, but not as a QB in the NFL.
Offer him a low amount of money and allow him to seek a trade.
Otherwise he's a June 1st. That puts us under the cap.

If the team rewards a QB that was talking about handbags in preparation for the Packers before gift wrapping them wih two touchdowns....well, the clown show will continue and the team not actually serious about winning.
