ESPN, NFCE Foes, Dak-haters....only ones who have made that "weak schedule" argument. You're the first "Cowboys fan" I've heard use that talking point. Shameful...

Parents usually stricter on their own kids because they love them more. I love my Dallas Cowboys. Trust me, I would like nothing more than a SB win. However, I also know how to think for myself, and my eyes are telling me Dak is hitting a rookie wall and he's crashing into it hard. It is an exercise in futility to keep trotting him out there if he's going to keep getting owned by the same formula. This Tampa Bay game is going to be really telling. If he struggles mightily again, come on, you can't just have an unwavering blind faith when there is the *possibility* of a more attractive option...that's just due diligence to explore it.

Unless Dak gets hurt, he's the QB for the rest of the year.

The Never-Dakers need to move on already.

At least this will all end in the off-season when Romo moves on...
Never-Dakers? That's a good one. :D

Personally, I have never wavered from believing Romo should have resumed his position after being certified healthy to return to the starting lineup. However, I do not summarily dismiss the actions of the front office.

Jones and Garrett decided that Prescott would be the permanent starter at quarterback. I believe the choice was wrong but the choice was made. Now the choice should be upheld. Jones and Garrett should man up and stick to their convictions about how they feel Prescott brings to the team now and in the future. It would a welcomed gesture for me after the cowardly debacle of allowing Romo to make The Statement by himself. Totally unnecessary and atypical.

I'd prefer if they'd man up and admitted their choice was wrong and updated it with the incoming new information presented.

Ok now we're finding some common ground. I can't get jiggy with anybody who says Romo should start the TB game (my original post was targeting those panicky folks).

IF he struggles mightily against Tampa then I could possibly understand Romo starting vs the Lions. That being said, none of us are in the locker room and understand how that would affect chemistry. Garrett would have to poll some of the vets/leaders in the locker room.

I too deeply care about this franchise. That's why I'm 100% behind this kid. I hope the "put Romo back in" people realize what kinda dynamic that would open up for next year and the future. Calling for Romo now is basically calling for him to stay throughout his contract b/c I can't see how we transition back to Dak next season if we bench him now and Romo plays well.

What if Romo plays well but we still don't make it to the Super Bowl? What happens next year? Do you guys not see why it's so vital that Dak gets out of this funk and succeeds? Turning the page on Romo and his contract is vital for this franchise's future.

Dak. The last time he loss he went and led us on a 11 game win streak. Let's see how he carries us after this one.

I totally respect this..... and just for the record, I do not consider you a Never-Daker.:)

Oh yes, I feel Dak should still start vs TB, but we can't just blindly ignore his ongoing struggles. I hope he plays well and goes undefeated the rest of the season, I'm not rooting for Dak to do bad.

That's the thing. The new information you're talking about should have been anticipated before considering such a huge change at quarterback. In my opinion, they did factor in the possibility that Prescott would not perform at some point as well as he did earlier in the season. It would be logical to do so since:

All rookies struggle. No exceptions. If that were not true, Prescott would not be setting records in the here and now because other past rookie quarterbacks would have already played just as well as he has during much of this season. Prescott's season has been atypical but he is not some wunderkind player. He's a rookie. Plain and simple. And his recent play proves that fact, just as it has for every player who came before and will come after him.

The decision has been made. They should not make another potential mistake by reversing their gears even if Romo would be the best option for the playoffs. The decision they made was for the franchise's present and future. It should be too late to go back on a decision that should not have been made in the first place. It would be comical for Jones and Garrett to keep flipping between multiple players with the players in question are a top veteran NFL quarterback and a rookie with great potential. This should always be about the NFL. Jones and Garrett should not be engaging in some stupid rendition of franchise mode in Madden.

So far, 40% of the fan base wants Romo the starter for Tampa.

I think Dak's honeymoon is officially over. If we lose to Tampa, I expect this percentage to increase dramatically.
Oh it will increase. Jerry might even change his mind. Doesn't mean it's the right decision though. If Tony comes back and we don't win the SB then we're screwed.

so the answer is even though for 10 games he looked league MVP. but the last (2) he has not so we focus on the last 2 and ignore the 10.

makes sense. not sure in which world, but makes sense to someone i suppose.
I agree with the premise of this point but the rub is that he had the 2 bad games back to back. If he had a bad game in October and then a bad game yesterday it would be picky to only pay attention to the 2 bad games. But the last two weeks the offense hasn't looked the same as it did the first 10 weeks. So the concern is if this is a pattern or not. Next week's game will be telling.

This wasn't the first poll that asked this question. The polls began in October. Wouldn't it be more correct for you to say you can't get jiggy with anybody who said Rom should have started the first game he was certified healthy enough to play in?

Let me know when he quits being able to throw the football, until then, he's fine.

John Elway, Peyton Manning and Troy Aikman can throw the football. They probably still possess deadly accuracy. But none of them are foolish enough to think they can get behind center, take a hit and continue to throw said football. ;)

I don't understand how this is even a question. We finally lose a game, and that's it for some people? Dak is the QB of this team now. He's a rookie who is going to have an off game here and there, and this team was never going 15-1.

I swear, I can't wait till Romo isn't on this team anymore so this idiotic manufactured drama will end.

Everyone says Tony looks great in practice. I don't know what that has to do with taking a hit and staying healthy. That's the major concern.

It's why Tony has to be gone next year if he isn't starting.

Again, this is not the first poll that asked this question. It's not an original poll question that followed last night's loss.
