If Dak leaves the team and another team pays him the big bag he wants, well, that's gonna be their problem from then on, not the Cowboys anymore. So, Dak gets richer and the team he goes to gets poorer. Fine by me.

I get that, and to me at least, the plan with Dak has been determined a long time ago. I'm just ready for a change and something fresh. I understand it's always a risk making a change at QB, but to me I've had a big enough sample size to know that Prescott will only take you so far.
so what sample size do you have with this FO? Thats all im saying after 28 years what makes you think its the QB?

Dak has been far from bad. We’ve won a lot of games with him, but the playoffs haven’t gone well. Our next QB won’t likely have the regular season success he did, which means we’re going to struggle to make the playoffs.
Not hard to figure out.

You still don’t get it. If they can’t accomplish the deal, where are the Cowboys going to walk to? They’re going to be staggering around trying to figure out who’s going to be their starting QB in 2025. While Dak will be even richer than he is right now on a new team that probably is more committed to winning. It’s going to be a win for him and a big loss for the Cowboys.

That is your opinion lol. If the Cowboys walk away from the negotiating table, then they do so with the knowledge that the team may have trouble finding the next QB-but still are okay with it. Which boils down to Dak’s perceived leverage meaning less to the Cowboys than it would need to be to facilitate a deal.

You are making your emotional point from Dak’s side of the table. Whoever “wins” in the future has nothing to do with leverage on this deal currently because those things have not happened yet. Failed deals are because the leverage that both sides brought to the table were not convincing enough at the time to the parties making the decision.

I know they’re pretty darn good at drafting. They haven’t been in a position to have a top 5 pick since Zeke in 2016.

You are on this board and you classify the word "clueless" as hostile? Wow. I'll try to tone it down. How about naive as hell.
I believe in the golden rule; treating people like you’d want to be treated. You obviously don’t abide by that. Try to be better.

It would be like losing your beautiful girlfriend to another man and having to settle for an ugly one.
This is exactly what those who want Dallas to move on are hoping for. You nailed it man. Terrible analogy for what you’re going for but perfectly said.

Imagine you to be the dude who stays in a miserable relationship with a hot chic who is a garbage girl who can’t hold a conversation, doesn’t want to work etc etc, but rather spends her days posting on IG all her new handbags and ‘fits you blow your wad on all bc she outwardly reminds everyone you outkicked your coverage and that makes you feel good.

The only “leverage” she has is your ego and your unrelenting need to have someone who looks a part but brings nothing to the table. We all know the girl, always mad about something, guilts you into everything she owns, sloppy drunk, dead fish, maybe birthday & holidays if you spend enough. You know the ole show me a hot chic and I’ll show someone tired of her.

Sadly even you know the truth is, she’s all fluff, padded stats and a bust when you need her most. Passed out by 6 on your anniversary. The only beautiful thing about her is your perception. Give us the 7th round last of the draft half hottie who isn’t obsessed over flashing her decked out pad, 5 star meals and Gucci all over insta. We’ll happily ride that wallet friendly wild woman who is trying to earn her way to our Super Bowl 7x a week and 6x on Sundays bc she’ll appreciate every minute.

You can keep your self perceived beauty while the rest of us prefer quality, and trust we always laugh at the one who thinks he’s cool with his beautiful “catch.”

Jerry, is that you? KJJ = KissJerry’sJewels?

60 million starting next season - unless he is willing to give Dallas a discount because he enjoys being a Cowboy and knows he can make more than enough in endorsements to make up the difference.
Tad over here counting his cut like

make it incentive based. Don’t win superbowl…you get $30 million per year.

Win a superbowl and that number jumps to $55 million per year.

They will walk to the same place they have for almost 30 seasons, the sofa … for the CCG and SB … This is exactly what you are not grasping here. In spite of this sofa surfing, the Dallas Cowboys have become the first professional sports team to be valued at over $10 billion. Jerry don’t need Dak, he’s just a shiny object and the previous sentence is why JJ has all the leverage. If he decides he no longer wants Dak in a Cowboys uniform, at HIS price, Dak has zero leverage and them shoes were made for walking.

Now on top, of that, let’s say Dak gets Thiesman’d. Tell us, if Jerry doesn’t want to pay xxxx over xxxx years and the injury risk is real, how much leverage does Dak really have? Not asking for your perception of leverage, but actual leverage.. some team like Carolina wanting to overpay for terrible playoff performance when Jerry’s bank account will still go cha ching cha ching ch ching, isn’t leverage, risk for a career ending injury with nada to show for it, isn’t leverage. Jerry disavowed his own flesh and blood and you think Dak has leverage? Oh but but but the click thirst stories
