Me thinks he will shuffle onto Buffalo. Break the Buffalo curse.

Yeah. It is.

It also is how you build a crap franchise that no one wants to play for.

No good owner would ever embrace your perspective. Dumb owners certainly would.

So no organization would trade off key players without taking their input first and their feelings into account?

If I'm Romo I would want to play for Houston because it's a dome, warm weather, close to home, and they have some real weapons.

He needs to stay away from cold weather teams imo.

All those warm days growing up in Wisconsin tend to spoil a guy...

Garappolo is head to the Bears. I find it hard to believe that TR is going to a crappy team like Chicago. I've said all along that KC, Denver or Houston will trade for him. He has value, old and frail or not.

Agreed.

One way or another, Tony will end up with a contender.
That's the only thing he cares about, and where he has the most value.
If his only choice was to become a rebuilding leader/mentor, I believe he'd retire.
And a solid pass-protecting OL is a must, or he'll again risk downtime.

Hopefully the team will have this resolved by the end of next week/weekend. Focus on those that will be or can be Cowboys in 2017 not the past. The sooner the better...

Betting odds has Chicago and Buffalo as the same chance of being Romo's destination as Houston so I think there is some validity to this rumor. According to these odds, Denver is most likely, followed by Buffalo, Chicago, and Houston, then Kansas City and New York Jets, with Miami last.

Romo staying in Dallas is in between the Buffalo, Chicago, and Houston tier and the Kansas City and New York Jets tier.

I believe he ends up in Denver or Houston.
I live outside Buffalo. There is ZERO chance Romo goes to the hell hole by lake Erie. They have a rookie defense head coach, basically a rookie owner who lets his wife make football decisions. A general manager who has failed miserably at finding anything productive at QB for years. He traded two number ones to get a WR who gets hurt every time he puts cleats on when Odell Beckam was sitting there for the taking. Their former coach Marone quit because of that. He just walked away and left millions on the table because he had no faith in the organization. They destroyed their top 5 defense by letting Ryan take over and gut it. Now they have to rebuild both offense and defense.

Romo will retire before ever playing one down in the "dump" formerly known as Ralph Wilson stadium.

Romo did go to Eastern Illinois and is from Wisconsin, so he can play against the Packers twice a year.

Part of what people are missing out on is the style of offense. Romo is a Zampese/Coryell offense QB. He could go into the Arians/Earhart type of offense which is more about a change in the language. WCO is about completely changing the footwork and that's why I don't see him in Kansas City.

He has a lot of say. Jerry will be sure of it and all Romo has to do is leak retirement to the press or refuse to rework his contract and it will kill any trade talk.

In a tread yes Tony would have some say but it is more limited. if released Tony has full say of the offers he may receive

When your 37 with back issues playing and being in cold weather everyday would not be optimal.
I don't think it's "optimal" for anyone... even Favre at the end saw his cold weather mystique take a hit with some poor performances, when for most of his career he was nearly invincible in cold temperatures. Having said that, I don't think there is any reason for Romo to avoid a cold weather place if that's where he wants to go and both his game log and personal history back that up. He's not from Hawaii.

If it's a trade, Tony doesn't really have much of a say. I'm going to miss him like hell regardless of what happens in the coming months

Tony has a lot of say for several reasons.... Jerry will give him some say. No team will take on his current contract
without some renegotiation...Tony might revisit the retirement option if Cowboys were to try and send him to a crap
team like Chicago or Cleveland. Yep...I would say he has the last word on any trade and his agent will be on speed dial.

Yes because NE is s crap franchise that "no one wants to play for"

No, you do what is vest for your TEAM not for 1 player. THAT is the way to build a great franchise

So foolish...Jerry has never run the Cowboys like that. He wants players to want to come to the Cowboys...not leave.

Yes, crap teams do it all the time. For some owners, money is all that matters and winning is not the end all be all.
Jerry has never operated like that. He loves his key players, overpays them and holds onto them longer than he should.

That was 14 years ago. He's been in Texas and playing in Texas weather for a long, long time.

And yet the Patriots have no problems getting players to come to them and play. Why? Because they win. So we can stop with this silly rationale that only bad teams just cut/trade players without taking into account how they feel. LOL.

If Jerry decides to just give Romo whatever he wants, that's a mistake. His focus should be on the Cowboys and making them better, not what makes Romo feel better. And I like Romo, but this is bigger than him at this point.
