I think Rush is doing well at what he is being asked to do. But make no mistake about it.. the coaching staff is helping him a lot. The run/pass ratio has been close to 50/50 in all three of his starts this year.. They have run more 12 personnel than before.. They have made his reads much easier because there has been only two receivers to read and the tight end running to the flat and stopping while the RB blocks then leaks out to the other flat and stops. His completion percentage, 60.8, would be great.. if this was 1992... And it's a lot easier to manage the game when the defense is giving up 15 points a game.. Rush is fine.. he's just not as good as Dak.. A couple of those throws he made Sunday were almost "close your eyes and heave it" throws. That can't go on forever.. At some point Goodell is going to call down to the refs and make sure some of those interceptions get the flags picked up. This team needs a more talented QB to get to the next level. Now if Dak keeps playing as he did against Tampa we aren't getting that next level QB. But if he gets back to normal, he's light years better than Rush and we can ride him and this defense pretty damn far..

Exactly it's nice to see receivers hit in stride and making catches that NFL receiver should make.

That said Daks arm will only be as good as his thumb will let him grip the ball and this all remains to be seen.

It is not a given that Daks arm accuracy or any of the mechanics that contribute will be exactly the same until we see how his thumb has healed and if he can properly grip the ball.
In short if any of you know anything about throwing a football you will realize and have to admit that being able to grip the ball properly has a great bearing on how you will be able to throw it

Romo used to do the same thing Ray Lewis would laugh about it Walk people up and Romo would check out of the run mostly because he liked to pass the ball anyway and was looking for an excuse.

But a smart defense knows how to manipulate a quarterback like that and get them doing what they want them to do Ray Lewis talked about it.

Cooper Rush tends to go with the play called like DAk did in the beginning of his career.

Now he gets paid like Peyton Manning so he figures he should be able to think like Peyton Manning why would he bother to listen to an offensive coordinator that makes 72k.

Rush is throwing to his first or second read and trying not to lose the game....he can do this because of our defense. Dak goes through his progressions and trying to outscore teams....Now that he has a great defense he needs to dial it back and become a bit more bus driver, if you will. This needs to come from the play calling.

Cooper is being asked to do less... and it's simplified more than what Dak is asked.

If Dak were in the game, we'd go on a passing frenzy as Kellen would prefer ... because it's more of a closer, conservative game, Rush is not asked to take as many
chances in tight windows as Dak would dare to.

Case in point, we were actually running the ball well with Zeke vs Bucs, ..but Kellen chose to go more pass frenzy even when Bucs clearly counter scheming with zones, plus
they admitted that they " knew" Kellen was Not gonna stick/stay with the run game. They knew he was gonna stray away from it.

Rush is a prime example of a QB "throwing a WR open". That means that he throws the ball either before or right at the break. The break is a term denoting for when a player makes a cut. It's anticipation and instincts, and defines the difference between a proactionary and reactionary QB. Dak is more of the see receiver open, throw ball type. Rothlis was that way.

I think it's fairly obvious that Rush sees the field and reads defenses better than Dak. It's also quite obvious that Dak has the stronger arm and is more athletic than Rush. I'm expecting more to be revealed in the upcoming games for both of them, though. Mike McCarthy does seem likely to proceed with Rush vs. the Rams and possibly Dak vs. the Eagles. He wants to see Dak throwing the ball in practice this week, before deciding who to go with after the Rams game. Dak appears to be progressing pretty well with his thumb and his grip on the ball, so let's not be terribly surprised to hear of him competing versus those villainous Philadelphia Eagles.

I'm going to definitely agree with you that our defense is a great help to both quarterbacks because so far we have allowed less points than the 85 bears in their first four games.

That said which normal is really Daks normal. Is it the first six games of last year

Or is it the last half of the season and the beginning of this year .
