Sacase, I do know this, Jason Garrett said the new offense is built upon Timing patterns, which are different from the previous route running and receiving last year. Did you know that???????
Second, the timing patterns was used in the early 90's with Jimmy Johnson when he hired Norv Turner to run it. That takes extra time to learn where to throw the ball and the receiver has to run the right route to get there. There was an article on those routes, by someone that came into Dallas after Norv left, and he said, that if Norv Turner was still here, the guys after 1995, would be let go, they were running sloppy routes, etc.
If you know any football, you have to run right routes, be precise, and turn right when the ball is going to be there. We all know, not sure if you know that or not. Big example is in super bowl in early 90's, Novachek was running a route and right before he turned for the ball, Aikman had already thrown the ball, knowing he would be there. The other WR's had run their right routes to keep the defense away from where the ball was going. In timing patterns, you have to run the right routes and be precise. If not, big interceptions.
Relating to Roy Williams, reports are from media that have focused on this, and I have, I repeat I have read several of those reports, Roy Williams does not and did not attend most of the offseason workouts when Parcells was here. Only the mandatory ones, because each year, Roy would come in at 242 or sometimes even 245, way to big for a safety. The Cowboys have even asked Roy Williams to come in at a lesser weight. That to me, says a lot about Roy Williams, his desire and commitment.
If the players like Ware, Bradie James, Carpenter all said after looking at the new defense scheme that Wade Phillips is installing, they see how quickness and speed is more important, even the sports writers have written several documents about that speed issue, and weight drop by defensive players. If those players that have dropped 20 pounds to get faster and quicker, then you cant tell me that Roy Williams cant.
If he comes in at 242 or so, then what does that say about Roy Williams commitment, and desire, knowing that Wade wants speed and quickness, even the Cowboys have told Roy to lose some weight, to become faster. That to me, all comes down to Roy. Thats why I am so disappointed in him. If you read these articles alittle more, you would know more, then to make comments you did, without reading and knowing.
