Does winning against Seattle even matter?

Or is it the losing? Because the way I figure it, Seattle is 6-5. If we win then they become 6-6 and then they are no longer a winning team. We won but its not a winning team so it doesn't matter.

OTOH, it they lose then Seattle is a winning 7-5 team and we cannot beat winning teams.

FWIW, I find the whole 'winning teams' argument to be asinine but I also figure that if people want to be wagged by ESPN then let them.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys narrative seems to have them in a no win situation from most fans perspective.
Every win matters. It sets the tone in the locker room and on the field.

if you beat a team that was 1-0, does it mean you beat a winning team? what if that team ends up 6-11?

this in season stuff sometimes is meaningless.

Exactly. So you are of the mind that should we win against Seattle, it too will be meaningless. The Cowboys will have proven nothing.

Thank you for reminding me of the meaninglessness of Cowboys wins.

I am not of the mindset of anything. its you who is trying to create a pigeon hole to fit something into to prove a point I have no idea what.
we just have to beat who is in front of us and beat better teams. Seattle per their record is better team than the past few opponents and then philly and so on. all this other stuff is for fans and media to make a big deal out of.

Of course it doesn’t matter. I told y’all two weeks ago the regular season was over for all intents and purposes. Y’all late, as usual

But the question is, tie breaker implications with who? We aren’t winning the division, so we aren’t going to have or need any tie breaker advantages that I can think of.
Still possible to win the division.
But it would potentially be a wild card tie breaker as well.

It's no different than the Iggles beating a barely winning team in the Bills last night. The Bills are no longer a winning team, and when we face them won't be either. Clearly, we have to beat both of them and hope the Iggles lose to the 9ers

How would winning and keeping a record that will help the Cowboys get into the playoffs not matter?

Obviously if the Cowboys beat the Seahawks they will have beat a team with a winning record, but even if someone decides to say otherwise, who cares?

Win the game. I can care less what our negative fans think or say about if that is a win against a winning, or another losing team.

I asked this last night. Philly beat Buffalo that dropped to 6-6, so does that count as a quality win. I got mixed answers. But no one could / would answer why does it count for Philly and other teams, but not for us.

It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game.
There is a glimmer of hope that this year might be different because of the way Dak battled against the Eagles- albeit in a loss. All anyone ever asked from Dak was that he didn't choke against teams that were top tier. He actually seemed to have finally have grasped what he was supposed to be accomplishing vs the Eagles.
It's in no way vindication for the past seven years, but if he can show that he FINALLY can be the quarterback that he's being paid to be, the Cowboys have hope. If not, it was simply a lucky day and he needs to be gone.
This just totally proves the OP's point lmao.

The game against Philly in the regular season doesn't count, neither does the game against TB. The only standard for youis what Dak hasn't done.

Because it's really not an argument. Strength of schedule and winning/losing records matter at the end of the regular season. Not conveniently in-between.
Talking point of the month.

Isn't beating a team contributing to their record?
Should we NOT win these games?

I agree, let’s not tempt some. But that’s not the overall question. The question is did Philly just beat a Super Bowl contender or an average team. Because now the Bills are .500. So did they beat a powerhouse or a .500 team? Cuz I guarantee everyone if we just barely beat a .500 team, at home, in OT, with help from the refs, with our QB throwing a interception, and allowing 34 points, this board would be going nuts with narratives devaluing the W.
I honestly dont know the answer you are looking for.
I will take a win anyway I can get it.
I do value wins over the better teams, because thats what we will be seeing in the playoffs.

The fact that 13 people so far liked this insanely ridiculous post says a lot about Cowboy fans.
