I mean, if you hire these guys, the staff is already in place for Garrett next year. Just connect the dots
Sure seems that way.

well, as secondary coach, the only guy here was Roy. I'm not sure what type of relationship they have, but if Roy buys into what Campo is dishing I don't see any other problems cropping up.trickblue;1931138 said:No rue-ing allowed... never...
But you are right... this would be a solid coaching staff...
My only issue is Campo coming back. Several of these guys played for Campo when he was HC here. Can he get due respect coming back as an assistant coach?
I'm not so sure...

We lose Sparano, Bowles, Rogers....
And we maintain Garrett....bring in Houck for OL.
Bring in Grantham for DL.....Dom Capers wants to be here....and Dave Campo is still in the mix.
Say what you want to about Campo....
But if I was an intelligent man, I just might say it looks like ol' Jerruh may have learned a thing or two....and is assembling, once again, a very nice coaching staff.
But can I still rue?

If this is meddling, then I'm all for it.Vintage;1931128 said:So let me get this straight...

Dat Nguyen was a player then, but he's a coach now and doubt he would undermine Campo even if he was still a player.

Off the top of my head:
Roy Williams
Greg Ellis
Flo Adams
Andre Gurode
Could be more or less... it just seems awkward to me...
Oh yeah, although I don't know how much Campo would even have to do with Ellis.Big Dakota;1931149 said:Only Greg and Roy will be affected.

Look for the Cowboys to speak with Dom Capers about joining their staff.
Capers was fired as the Dolphins defensive coordinator last year, now he wants to joing the Cowboys.
Capers was the head coach in Houston when current Cowboys defensive coordinator Brian Stewart and defensive line coach Todd Grantham were Texan assistants.
When Jason Garrett was offered the Ravens head coaching job, reports say he wanted to bring Capers with him to Baltimore.
Wade Phillips better get a bulletproof vest.

You might want to finish reading the rest of the sentence before quoting me.Rampage;1931151 said:isn't Dat the linebackers coach?
ha, I just remembered he was the lb coach with everybody talking about all these new coaches and what not. I guess everybody wants him gone?windward;1931155 said:You might want to finish reading the rest of the sentence before quoting me.

I would hope the guys would respond well to him, it just seems like it would be a strange situation...
Even though many never played under him, they will all know he used to be top dog and is now a position coach...
I have nothing against the man and if he comes here, I hope he succeeds...
He's certainly a very nice man and I hope he gets some share of redemption in Dallas. It would make for a great story.cowboyeric8;1931161 said:Agreed. I always liked him, and he was in a lose/lose situation as the head coach it seemed.
