Gardner Minshew is a pretty good QB but I’ve noticed since the Cowboys win that a lot of Cowboys fans are trying to glorify him into being a lot better than what he really is. It’s all in an attempt to make themselves feel even better about the win over the Eagles. I’ve even seen more than one fan saying Minshew is better than Hurts. Not true!

Minshew is a way better passer than Hurts. Hurts is more dynamic because of his running ability. Hurts would definitely kill our current Defense more IMO if they should meet again. The Defense would need to do a 180.

Funny how no one in Philly was humbled by their win over us earlier in the year against our "backup QB".

Logic never is a strong thing with these meatheads.
If by meatheads you mean 70% of NFL fans in general, then I would agree LOL. There is virtually no difference in how Dallas and Eagles fans are playing this…In game one, we were the ones saying but it was our back up… Now they’re doing it… Not much difference.

People indicating that Hurts throws like a bum QB are so far off the mark. They can't have watched him play much this season and base their judgement on last season when he played behind a banged up o line, without a genuine WR1 and an ok running game. I watched Minshew miss several passes other starting NFL QBs could make in their sleep. There was a terrible overthrow to Watkins in the first half for a walk in touchdown but he got away with it as the Cowboys D was feeling generous.

Overall he did an ok job despite the 2 interceptions, back breaking fumble and bottling it with an opportunity to win the game on the last drive. I wouldn't be in a rush to pay him as a starter in the league.

I watched him when he was on East Carolina and wasn’t very impressed with him. This defense can, has, and will make a lot of journeymen and average quarterbacks look pretty damn good

I though Minshew played for Washington State. That's at least where he got drafted from.

Hurts is not a good deep ball thrower and pretty innaccurate on throws 20+ yards. He has amazing weapons this year and his guys are getting open by wide margins. He was never a great passer at Alabama either. I've watched him A LOT. Good player though, just have to contain him and he can be beat. His arm can't bail him out.

As I recall, Eagle fans were quite thrilled when they beat the Cowboys earlier this season. I don't remember their celebrations being tempered by the fact that the Cowboys backup started the game.

With the way minshew was able to step up in the pocket untouched, hurts would have taken off a dozen times for well over 100 yards...they are right to say that they likely would have won had hurts been there.

However, he wasn't and they didn't so wahhhhhhhhhh

Cowboys D would have had a totally different game plan if Hurts would have played.

It seems we'd be lucky to get ANY plan out of this defense right now. It's trash, took some lucky fumbles and a couple sweet interceptions to even have a chance. Otherwise it was a wide-open Festivus for the Eagles.

No. He’s not good. There’s a reason he doesn’t start. He’s been in the league for long enough. He is what he is. A backup. Just because he shredded this defense doesn’t mean he’s good. He’s not. You will see that if he plays again. Heck, we’ve faced him before and he did nothing. Yesterday was an indictment on this defense, not on that sorry qb.
You’re wrong. He played a very good game. The defense wasn’t that good, but they did come up with some huge plays. Both interceptions were great plays, not bad throws by Minchew.

sophomore and junior season as an ECU Pirate. I didn’t realize how much better he developed playing his senior year at WSU

If they couldn't stop a less mobile qb from stepping up and picking them apart they would have struggled with hurts...

If you watch close when they rushed 4 they struggled, when they send 5 if the overload the interior they were ok, if they sent 4 and spyed a lb they were ok...but they really struggled with the base package

The Eagles built in all star roster around Hurts. The Eagles might have the best offensive line and offensive weapons in the NFL. Minshew knows the offense and plugged right in. The defense forced 3 turnovers from Minshew and that was the difference in the game.

Everyone on offense except Brown was on their roster before Hurts was even drafted.

They didn’t build around Hurts

This is only his 4th season in the NFL.
In his rookie year with lowly Jacksonville, he took over due to injury and in 12 games, he passed for 3,221 yards, 21 TDs to 6 INTs and lead the team to a 6-6 record, completing 60% of his passes.

In year 2, he started 8 games, completed 66%, had 16 TDs to 5 INTs, but the team was 1-6, and they drafted Lawrence.

He only started 2 games last year in Philly and 1 this year…..passer ratings- 91, 96, 105.

He holds the rookie TD pass record for the Jags over Lawrence despite starting only 12 games that year.

I don’t think you really know much about him.

Minshew is okay, but not great. He is a serviceable backup. Much like Colt McCoy, Rush, Foles, Keenum, Dalton, Winston, etc....they are not gonna take you to any SB, but will make a very good living in the NFL. But he did play well against Dallas and had them going for the winning TD in the final minute. No shame there. Their turnovers and defense let them down.

Minschew would start for half of the team's in the NFL right now and I guess they forgot all about the first time we played this year.

Minshew doesn’t play defense… But he did turn the ball over three times… If you turn the ball over three times I don’t really care what else you did, it was a bad game.
The two interceptions weren't really on Minshew though, in my opinion. They were extremely well played by the defense, and in both cases, they took the ball away from the receivers.

So would they put up 50 with hurts?? How many mote points would they have scored since its a huge drop off?
For every run hurts might have had.. coulda easily taken away from a throw minshew made. He didnt play bad.

What he is referring to is, Dallas scored 20 points off of turnovers. If hurts played he MAY not of had those turnovers. That changes the completion of the whole game. I also noticed Dallas didn’t play minshew to keep the ball on any RPO’s. It was there all game even with his speed he should have pulled.

Eagles fans are saying crap like, "You barely beat a journeyman backup."

These are the same dirtbags who booed when Donovan McNabb was drafted. The truth is this Gardner Minshew guy is very good. I think he'll end up starting somewhere.

I guess they have a short term memory when they barely beat journeymen Cooper Rush who didn't make the team to start the season. Hehe

Him not playing great isn’t my argument. Try again.
