Eagles fans lame excuse is to insult their backup QB

One play, and we've tried similar before: Every defense knows, when Turpin is in, a stupid (vanilla) play came in with him.

Minshew doesn’t play defense… But he did turn the ball over three times… If you turn the ball over three times I don’t really care what else you did, it was a bad game.

so what was Vanilla? The play to Lamb in the corner of the end zone? We ran the ball up the middle.... shocker. How bout the 4th and 1 that we lined up dak in shotgun and then he ran up under center and it looked like a sneak was coming only to kick outside... we havent done that before. Good thing we didnt show it.

Yeah the situation were eerily mirrors of one another…And the fan bases had close to the same reaction… I guess if you quibble you could say that we were further away from winning the first one than they were yesterday. Luckily we will probably get a third match up in four weeks…Hopefully both teams are as healthy as possible for it.

For you, it was a high-end complicated scheme on both sides of the ball and had the opponent totally baffled the entire game:

they were sure baffled on defense. We put zero pressure on their qb... not hard for an NFL qb to throw the ball when he isnt under pressure. The few times he was under pressure, he stepped up. Defense isnt all that complicated... put no pressure on the qb, the opponent will score points.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s very good. He’s good enough to win a few games, especially on a team with a very good OL and a way above average WR corp.
 
I know we are going to here this until they play again, but if Hurts played, it would have been a very different game. Hurts would run more, eat the clock more and probably keep the scoring down. He is not the kind of QB that throws the football 40 times. So maybe both teams score fewer times and there are fewer turnovers but who knows what Dallas might have done. The Cowboys were missing a bunch of guys too so no excuses for the Eagles just like there were not excuses for Dallas when they lost last week.

Is it possible Hurts throws two interceptions? Yes. Very unlikely? Also yes…he’s thrown 5 in 14 games.

Is it possible that Hurts fumbles a handoff to the running back? Yes. Very unlikely? Also yes…that is a a function of QB/rb unfamiliarity.

Is it possible that Hurts fires three passes in a row into the stands at the end of the first half? Very unlikely…He’s been very good at the two minute Offence.

Is it possible that Hurts gets tackled multiple times with little or no gain when there’s yards of empty space in front of them on scrambles? No. It was so nice yesterday to not have to worry about those dastardly scrambles.

If an injected Hurts plays yesterday, I would bet a lot of money that it would’ve been a blowout Eagles victory.

So would they put up 50 with hurts?? How many mote points would they have scored since its a huge drop off?
For every run hurts might have had.. coulda easily taken away from a throw minshew made. He didnt play bad.
