And somehow, in Bizarro-world, having "never read that the safeties were doing bad", translates into this:

And you have the nerve to call someone else "clueless".

So we live in a world where everyone is attached to the same thing readable and viewable only?

I dont read and see everything you see and you dont see and read everything I see.

There are also individuals that have more resources than the other. You are assuming that we are only limited to you!

Feel free to share with us the information you have that we don't. I'll gladly readjust my thinking if you have some new information that contradicts what I've said. I have no problem in being wrong if the facts refute what I've said.

If you can produce these reports of the safeties having a "great camp", I'll be glad to stand corrected.

I guess you didn't read what he wrote then. Guy makes a lot of good points and I for one don't blame him
Nope, I didn’t read his latest and I don’t really care anymore. Perhaps the next time he opens his mouth it should be because he’s showing up to play for the Seahawks or being traded.

If this dude were on the Cowboys and he went to Seattles coaches after we played them and said “come get me” followed by holding out and constantly keeping himself in the news on purpose (aka a distraction) most fans would want to kick him to the curb but since it’s the other way around and they want him to play for the Cowboys they’re on his side. To me, he’s still the same person no matter who he plays for and I’m not a big fan.

Plus I’m not thrilled for many other reasons I already mentioned.

So this really could happen? I thought it’s been all fluff, mostly, the last couple months.

Stephen’s coy remarks last week and ET’s comments here, make it seem more likely now. Has SEA commented on extending him? Are there any other teams that have been mentioned? Or is it us vs SEA?

Git er done, Jerry!

Edit — seems like the board is split on him. Regardless, it’ll be fun if he lands here. Half the board melting down, notwithstanding.
Half the board is ALWAYS melting down about something.

So I just read what he said.....and? Nice story but I don’t buy it. So this light went off in his head that he needed to secure his future by extending his contract with the Seahawks preferably because he “loves Seattle” and is a team player yet he runs over to the Dallas sideline to sell himself after the game. Lol.

Did he already know Seattle wouldn’t extend his contract before that game? Highly doubtful since most teams wait until the end of the season. In other words, he was already trying to bail on Seattle a long time ago, when he was still playing for them IMOF. His story would have been much more believable if he hadn’t done that but I guess he forgot and loses all credibility with me.

""I'm asking the Seahawks to do one of two things: Offer me an extension. Or trade me to a team that wants me to be part of their future," Thomas wrote Thursday.""

Not sure the Cowboys are a team that he can be a part of the "future", even if he plays very well likely the young'uns will push him out in a year or two...

Can you provide Stephen Jones' "own words" that say "no interest"?

Thanks in advance.
Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones says there have been "no recent talks" with Seattle about Earl Thomas.

This falls in line with a previous report that Thomas-to-Cowboys rumors are "media hype." Thomas didn't report for the start of training camp and looks on his way out of Seattle, so it's possible the sides revisit talks. The Raiders have also been linked to Thomas, but the Seahawks are unwilling to lower their asking price to get a deal done.

Here is the latest ones and I heard him saying on both 103.3 and the FAN as well. I will also add the no interest was a wrong statement on my part. I should have wrote not pursuing or no ongoing trade talk. As you said it's pretty clear the boys were interested around the draft. I think it has all been ET since then.

I never read that the safeties were doing bad. There is also camp footage on YouTube showing both the CB and safeties making plays against the offense.

Just saying!

I don't think stash said anything about the safeties doing bad either, he just responded to the comment about the secondary doing well by saying he had heard about the CBs doing well, but hadn't heard anything about the safeties.

As for camp footage, who knows how accurate that is. It's like highlight reels - individual plays are shown, but it's not known if that is really reflective of the overall picture.

Facts are that on draft day the seahawks called the Cowboys before pick 50 and wanted to make the deal. The Cowboys declined because they were gifted Connor Williams there. Then the Cowboys called the seahawks before pick 81 offering that pick for ET and the seahawks did not return the call.
Agree with both sentences. Since then fact is SJ has stated multiple times the boys are not having any trade discussions with Seattle.

No recent talks does not mean no interest. If there was no interest there wouldn’t have been trade talks to begin with

Ok, thank you for acknowledging that difference between "no recent talks" and "no interest".

Wouldn't surprise me if the Patriots trade for Earl Thomas and sign Dez Bryant and go on to win the Super Bowl.

He will help the team. I don't care about the rest of the BS. If salary is reasonable then we should sign him.

I read it, and although I agree with most of what he said, what would you expect from Seattle? Seattle is about to go through a few crash and burn seasons before they start to get better. Thomas is completely useless to them as an aging vet, so why would they give him an extension? ET is better suited for a team ready to make a splash within the next few seasons. He's at that point in his career.

At the same time, let's not confuse ET's situation with that of Julio Jones. Jones has 3 years left on his contract and now conveniently wants a new contract after his guaranteed money ran out. ET is in his last year of his contract and pretty much knows Seattle isn't resigning him, so he's making a stand now instead of playing through this season and possibly getting injured again, ruining any chance as an UFA at the age of 30. I can't blame him for that.

Question is, do the Cowboys have a shot within the next few seasons? Do we need a safety? You might think a 2nd rounder is too much, but what trade value does anyone expect for a 2nd? No one is trading a superstar in the prime of their career for a 2nd. ET is about the best you can expect, that is unless you don't trade 2nd rounders at all.

Trade for him. God forbid we don’t get to draft another Fasano or Bennett with that 2nd round pick
