In response to Four:
I don't necessarily have a problem with Greg voicing his opinion now that he's no longer with the Cowboys. As a member of the team, obviously, my opinion was different. While any player is entitled to speaking up, it's my belief in sports that players generally should not open up too much -- particularly if the comments are disparaging. Sure, sometimes calling someone out can be good for the team. But as a fan of the Cowboys I'm less concerned with an individual player's gripe and more concerned with the overall product. And since open complaints generally don't help a team's cause, I'm therefore against players complaining much about coaches, the owner or teammates.
But since Ellis isn't a part of the team any longer, these comments don't bother me for any of those reasons. Hell, he can rail on anyone he wants to now.
Mostly, I just feel sad reading these things. Sad because it seems like the guy is downright delusional. His thoughts are beyond innane. The fact Ware missed one play a game in which he wasn't hurt flatly dismisses Ellis' complaint and makes him look like a nut even uttering the words. What, is he trying to say Ware attempted to hide, but couldn't hide well enough and that's why he was never taken out of the game? But if left to his own druthers, Ware would have been on the sideline most of the game? :laugh2:
It's sad to see a player who was once the face of what was right with the team -- a productive draft pick in an era when most of our draft picks sucked, and a general good guy in an era when we had a lot of turds -- morph into some grumpy, disenchanted nutjob.
