So how about Terrell Owens?

He has more knowledge and right than any of us to have concerns. Yet I am sure most around here felt he was fair game to be criticized.

The obvious issue here is that Greg Ellis was more well-liked and fans pick and choose who they believe and who they feel has earned the right to talk negatively about the team.

What you are seeing is anger from fans who finally realize what kind of person and teammate he really was. And it is far from the image his friends in the Dallas media crafted for him.

Terrell thought he was bigger then the star. He was nothing more than a merc who got put in his place when he got a fat head.

I don't consider greg in the same ilk as owens. Greg spent more than a decade, got his achilles torn playing for us. Which I understand is one of the most excruciating injuries an athlete can suffer. All of that earns him points, where as T.O. was a selfish baby who was a divisive force in every city he played.

completely different people and as a result I take a completely different tack with them.

you're completely wrong about that, and I have experience that proves it out in my mind.

They are mine and mine alone to have and I won't get into them, but you are mistaken if you think my "newness" doesn't play a large role in how I got attacked in this thread.

*Shrugs* I personally think that's BS, but whatever.

When I first signed up I wasn't given a hard time. In fact I've rarely ever been given a hard time since I've been here and so when it has happened, yeah, I tend to believe it doesn't have much to do with the time I was here or the post count.

That's excuse making, quite frankly, when people don't agree with you on something you've got to find a way to justify them not wanting to agree with you. A large group of people disagree with you here so you're going to the "it's because my post count or join date isn't good enough" and it's frankly BS.

Slate hasn't been around much longer than you have and people, in general, get along with him just fine. There is some back and forth with some people but he's not picked on cause of his join date.

You have some things that make you believe it's your join date that makes people disagree with you but like you said, it's in your mind.

not the disagree, it's the how they disagree.

there is a modicum of respect earned through years of posting and time.

because I am perceived not to have that people feel okay with coming at me hard and calling me stupid and a liar.

people approach hos with respect, god knows he posts enough for people to know him by now(haha). Where as I have no ground upon which to stand with those who don't know me.

I know it's different, I have seen it first hand.

Then you're going to have to explain to me why that isn't the case for every single new poster because if you can't prove to me that it's done to every single new poster here then it's not a mindset and it's not something that's done to 'new guys'.

I know, for a fact, I have been treated with pretty much nothing but respect for my entire time here from post 1 to post whatever I'm on now.

The only people who ever make that claim, and you're not the first but you're one of the few I've seen do it on this particular forum, are the ones who say something that a bunch of people don't agree with and then they can't figure out why no one wants to agree with them so they go "oh, my post count is low. That's why."

Of course this isn't the first forum I've seen that said. It's happened on pretty much every forum I've ever signed up for, for whatever that forum was about, where you'd have a few posters who will make the claim that they're unfairly attacked because their post count isn't high enough.

I am certain, without a doubt, that everyone in this thread that didn't agree with you on Greg, and went back and forth with you the way they did, would have done the same thing if your post count say 24000.

You think theo gives a crap what your post count is? I'm quite certain he doesn't.

And it's not like what you were doing wasn't baiting people. You immediately questioned the validity of someones post, as simply hating on Greg and that you'd need another person to hear the radio deal before you'd really believe it, then when others chimed in that they agreed with him you went right to telling people they were mean and just hating on Greg for their opinion, called them bias, and pretty much tried to make it clear that none of their opinions mattered cause they only had said opinion out of hate.

So, tell me, did you only do that to people with low post counts? Was there a certain amount of posts a person had to have before you decided their posts weren't bias and that they just really didn't agree with Greg?

Again. Your post count has nothing to do with it. Your join date has nothing to do with it. Your opinion, and how your present it, has everything to do with it.

I'll give you a free piece of freindly advise to use as you will.

Your post count doesn't get you 'attacked', your demeanor does.

You have a provocational approach to your posts and it rubs people the wrong way.

You can deny it, or you can go back and look at your posts and see how what I'm saying is accurate.

I'm not trying to jump into any argument with you, but I thought you might appreciate the advice.

I agree with alot of what you said, but man Im sure glad they are both gone. Guys like Ellis ware people out. He is a depressing person whose personality tears a team apart. Thanks for the effort but good riddance.

Adam posted earlier that it was something like 26 snaps over the whole season. 16 of which came at the end of the Seattle game after he was injured so about 10 snaps the rest of the season. Something like that.

He played in like 97.1 snaps on defense this past year.

Greg Ellis leaves Anthony Spencer a finger-pointing parting gift

Tim MacMahon/Blogger Bio | E-mail | News tips

Greg Ellis and Anthony Spencer had an interesting relationship last season. Ellis continued to mentor his eventual replacement while openly wondering why Spencer was getting the lion's share of the playing time.

Wade Phillips had a simple explanation: Spencer is a superior player against the run.

But Ellis believes if he would have been on the field late in the Texas Stadium finale, the Cowboys would have been a playoff team.

In case you somehow forgot, the Cowboys' defense went out whiffing on their hallowed home turf, allowing the Ravens to rip off 77- and 82-yard touchdown runs to ruin a Tony Romo-led comeback attempt. Spencer was to blame for one of those plays, if you believe Ellis' opinion expressed on Michael Irvin's ESPN radio show yesterday.

"They put the dot on the problem," Ellis said, referring to the NFL Network analysis. "I think I would have been in the dot, guys."

The replays on NFL.com are dot-free, but I think Ellis is referring to Le'Ron McClain's 82-yard gallop. Willis McGahee's 82-yard run was behind the guard on the other side of the ball from Spencer, who would have had to cover a lot of ground to make the tackle.

McClain's rumble was a counter play to Spencer's side. Spencer took on a block in the backfield and got a hand on McClain but couldn't make the tackle. If Keith Davis makes the tackle at the line of scrimmage, Spencer would have gotten credit for disrupting the play. But Davis whiffed, both inside linebackers were knocked off their feet and a McClain stiff-arm took care of Ken Hamlin, the last line of defense.

"This doesn't bash Anthony," Ellis said. "Anthony was doing his job, going to try to make a play, and he just didn't, as we call it, squeeze it enough and it kind of creeped in there on him. But, not his fault. That kind of stuff comes with experience. ...

"You learn from those things. I don't want anybody to take this as I'm bashing Anthony. I love Anthony. This ain't bashing Anthony. He was just playing football. He was hitting the guy but didn't make the right decision at that particular time in the game."

Nope, not bashing him. Just blaming him for one of the most heartbreaking plays in franchise history.

Maybe Ellis, who truly did go out of his way to teach Spencer the NFL ropes, just wanted to leave his protege a little motivational fodder.

Bigger take home message from Ellis' revelations is how it underscores the lack of leadership on the club...Just smacks of a mickey mouse run organization, at the moment...Crazy

Stargate: Atlantis or a video game? Be nice. :( I loved that show... then SciFi cancelled it. If I were a Wraith, I would suck the lifeforce out those SciFi execs and...

Whoa! Was channeling Bob Sacamano there for a sec...: :)

That's why it had a 'blocky' kind of look! It was more fun playing those on the arcade console games. Of course, it wasn't very much fun watching quarters disappear into that damnable machine!
