Exactly... over the past 10 years of the Snyder administration, they've had plenty of "greatest days" that they have since conveniently forgotten about, including:

Hiring Marty Shottenheimer (which also brought about Vinny's first firing)
Signing Deion, Bruce Smith, etc.
Hiring Steve Spurrier
Luring Joe Gibbs back out of retirement

Hiring Wade Phillips(which he also was a Jerry Puppet)
Signing T.O., Tank Johnson, etc.
Hiring Dave Campo

You are correct. Hire the best person. Not the best black or white person. I can not stand rules that are created by do gooders that are completely redundant. If all the best coaches happen to be black they will get hired and the teams that pass on them will suffer record wise and revenue wise. Where is the rule for latinos or those of Jewish decent? Why all the hate for those groups? Where is the vietnamese rule? Get real people. You can not legislate away racism if it's in some one's heart.

Bruce Allen was with the Raiders from 1996-2003, and was the architect of the Superbowl team that lost to Tampa.

He and Gruden worked together in Oakland and then Tampa

Essentially the Glazers closed up their wallets when they went out and bought Manchester U in the English Permier Leauge.

Bruce Allen shouldn't have a problem with that in DC

This doesn't guarantee success for the Commanders, but this is a step in the right direction of becoming a respectable franchise again. Still a very long ways to go and I am in the "lets see what happens" stage now, after the elation of this morning

My thoughts exactly -- when he had the resources in Oakland, he built a winner. Yes he has made some dumb moves (everyone does), but over all, he has got to be better than Cerrato.

Overall, I am so, so, so, so, so, so elated Cerrato is gone. I am satisfied with the Allen hire. I am not making predictions as of yet. I am in "wait and see" mode. But I do have hope. After a dreary, dismal season of failure, there is a glimmer of hope that FINALLY Snyder has a clue...
