Am I the only person that is tired of hearing how the Steelers are a blue collar team? These guys play pro football. They are all millionaires. Not one of them is feeling the economy crunch like the rest of us. Not one SOB on that team is in the steel mill working long hours for low pay. They are not BLUE COLLAR. The fans are but the spoiled *** millionaire football players are in no way shape or form blue collar.

Hence Adam's point.

If there is Dallas news, it is the NFL's biggest news. The straw that stirs the drink.

Great, and you're satisfied with that?

Straw that stirs the drink, big deal.

I'd like to go back to winning playoff games, heck maybe a Super Bowl even.

I would give up all of this Dallas, America's Team, soap opera crap to go back to being a dominant force on the football field in the NFL.

It is a distant distant memory when we could claim that.

Ah, but what a sweet memory it is.

Then go cheer for the "real America's Team". Please. We'll be happy to be without you.

The 2008 season is over. Can we stop whining and *****ing about the Cowboys and look forward to next season? And those of you that don't want to stop with your "woe is me" outlook on the team, please shut up. I have the rest of the media to rag on my team. I don't need it from my fellow "fans".

I agree the season is done, lets start focusing on free agency and the draft. Everyone stop *****ing and whinning.

The way I see it, if fans (I don't mean anybody on this board in particular.) are so disgruntled and frustrated about their team, why don't they just stop buying tickets to the games and team merchandise? That always gets an owner's attention. The complaints don't mean much if you keep putting money into a product that you're not happy with. But for whatever reason, fans don't want to go to that extreme to show their frustration.

Wy does it have to be either or? You forget that we were media darlings during every one of those 5 Super Bowl winning seasons - to a lesser extent in 72, but it was already building up and it was definitely there for Super Bowl XII and the 90s championships. I don't think the media's obsession with the Cowboys makes a difference on the field. It just proves that the Cowboys are in fact America's most cared about team. And that's during good times and bad.

The Steelers are America's team.

Just last night after the game I watched as my neighbor wrapped his house in black and gold party ribbons and pasted the Steelers logo on his garage.

if he was a real Steelers fan, he would've had that done before the game.

ESPN got it right when they said the Steelers are America's team, they just missed a word. the Steelers are America's bandwagon team!

No drama, no reality shows, no huge egos to stroke, no hard knocks, no overpriced free agents, no public lockeroom spats, no control freak owner, no cupcake coach. Just a bunch of blue collar TEAMATES that work their tails off to reach a common goal.

Actually everything they are not.....America IS. Look around you man. Take notice. America is FULL of Drama, Reality Shows, Huge Egos, Overpriced people and fighting. The Steelers might be small town america, but not not America!

I hear ya Mama, but I am totally confused, ... as we finish our, .. what, 10th season without a playoff game, and we just finished watching the Steelers pass us with their 6th SB trophy.. some on here are puffing out there chests and spouting, "but Dallas is America's team!"

Big whoop.

Like that holds any weight when it comes to winning football games.

For those that have played the game, they realize it is about your 11 guys, standing up and pushing the other 11 guys backwards. Backwards far enough to put the ball in their endzone more times than they can put the ball in yours.

That is all football is, field position.

It has nothing to do with being liked the most, or the least, selling the most stuff, having the best nickname or anything.

I would like to get back to winning championships.

And should've won 4 in a row had Jerry left his ego out the door and kept Jimmy:bang2:

just letting you know our record in '94, we went 12-4 and lost the NFC Championship game to the 49ers. I fail to see how that's Jerry's fault...

I am as big a Cowboy fan as any of you, and have been for 35 years. That said, the Steelers are truly Americas Team. Just a bunch of blue collar TEAMATES that work their tails off to reach a common goal. Hats off to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Who would have ever known that a nickname, which the Dallas Cowboys never even asked to be labeled as, would create such illogical petty jealousy?

So basically you're saying Barry couldn't do what Jimmy did the last 2 with practically the same starting line-up. Point taken. :)

just letting you know this franchise has gone downhill since Jimmy left. We were headed in the right direction until Jerry's ego came into play once again and let the Tuna go.

You create a thread that reads "ESPN nails it" = you lose all credibility.

You know that right?
If losing credibility from guys like you who bury their head in the sand about the state and direction of this Dallas franchise and absolutely reject anything written by "the media" is the price I pay, so be it.

Out of all the people on the planet it never ceases to amaze me that Cowboys fans do not understand the concept of "America's Team." First of all, that is just a nickname.

Second of all, it is not transferable. You don't take any other nickname away from any other franchise and bestow it on someone else. It is like that stupid series ESPN did on the real Titletown, USA. I hate to tell anyone who put one minute's worth of time in that show, that Green Bay, Wisconsin is still Titletown, USA.

I've said this before, and I am saying it again...

And that's the bottom line.
The current Dallas Cowboys are not the ones who earned Americas team label. I wish they would conduct business like the team that earned the name.
