Not hardball. Just negotiate.

They did it with Jeter.

All ended well. I expect same here.

Otherwise, he will be a Commander!

Don't want that!!!!

Hope so because it wasn't JayZ reppin Jeter......he represented Cano and well, lets just say the guy who made a yankee hat more famous than a yankee king(which his ugly *** never did) just screwed over his team.

i'm beginning to wonder if maybe somehow the uncertainty of Romo's future (specifically his longevity) is linked to this in some way

i.e. the organization wouldn't want to be paying Megatron money to Dez with potentially a Weeden caliber QB throwing to him after Tony retires

exactamundo... and if they're going to be "certain" they have a good QB to throw him the ball that means FA and more big bucks,,, they're need a plan here.

Dez doesn't want to get franchised and I think that's where we're headed here. Don't be surprised if he holds out next season.

I can't imagine him holding out, but I guess you never know.

I just wish players would shut up and play and let their game do the talking. The contract will then come.

He has let his play do the talking.

The team has these reports coming out all of a sudden about the man. Can you blame him for speaking up?

Dude has ben a boy scout in regards to his contract, and media for years. Truth is he should have been gotten his pay day a year or 2 ago. He kept silent, played his game. It's probably the teams fault. The longer they waited, the more his stock went up.

I hate this in the middle of the season. It should not be allowed. If they're going to FORCE and FOIST the salary cap and parity upon as they have, then at least get rid of this mid-season distraction. It's frustrating and makes ME nervous - I can't imagine what those involved feel.

If Dez wants respect, he needs to just keep working his butt off and producing as he has been doing on the field and not talk about his contract when talking to the media. When asked about it... all he needs to say is it will all work out, next question. The statements he's been saying tells me he's got his mind on his money and not on football. IMO, that is disrespectful to JJ. Jerry has always taken care of the guys that take care of business. Why would Dez think that would be any different for him. I can see this not working out if he doesn't shut up. In that case I would blame his new management for filling his mind with ideas of what is real respect.

Dez needs to do what is best and that is....DO NOT TALK...about the contract... Let his agent handle it or it will get ugly quickly. The more Dez talks the worse it will be....and most likely less money. His agent gets paid to negotiate not play football.....Dez job is to play football ...not negotiate contracts.......

He's just a wr. Plenty more come along every year so offer market value and if that's not enough, see ya.

I hear what your saying, but the one guy? That's a stretch.

him and witten are the only two players that felt similar pain as the fans when we lost. i haven't got that vibe from any other cowboy the last decade.

My thoughts too. I like Dez. He's a man among boys out there, BUT, we need more than him to win a championship.

Offer him a fair contract. If he wants too much, then let him go handcuff another franchise.

All we need is a speed guy in the draft, and it will allow TW and the rest of them to get open underneath all day.
