Meh. Demarcus Ware had a similar statement when they were doing his contract, right? I think he said "Don't make me mad" or something like that. They still got it done.

He's just a wr. Plenty more come along every year so offer market value and if that's not enough, see ya.

Really? Name me one receiver in the upcoming draft with Dez's ability, desire, passion, and drive.

I find it arrogant that Dez thinks he has all the leverage. Dallas could slap franchise tag his way for 2 years and there isn't a thing he could do about it other than sitting out.

Contract negotiations are never pleasant. You just hope both parties reach a happy medium without too many feelings being hurt throughout the process.

Dez doesn't want to get franchised and I think that's where we're headed here. Don't be surprised if he holds out next season.

when he said in the post game
Im great Im a great man
something to that effect and now hes acting big headed in my opinion
I hate to see it. I love the Dez who loves the game and the passion to inspire teammates
I dont think he needs to get overly cocky like he is. but whatever.

Honestly, I would walk if I'm Dez Bryant. Time for a fresh start. I hope they don't try to franchise him. My favorite player, I'll follow and root for him where ever he goes.

I just wish players would shut up and play and let their game do the talking. The contract will then come.
You do realize that they're trying to make him look bad and defile his name. I'm guessing you're okay with that if your employer did that to you. So cool when seeing it done to others.

That's what we said about Ware, and now people like you are whining about a lack of pass rush on the defense, while Ware is on his way to the Super Bowl. One franchise gets it, the other is a fraud.

He has let his play do the talking.

The team has these reports coming out all of a sudden about the man. Can you blame him for speaking up?

Dude has ben a boy scout in regards to his contract, and media for years. Truth is he should have been gotten his pay day a year or 2 ago. He kept silent, played his game. It's probably the teams fault. The longer they waited, the more his stock went up.

I like Dez and he's obviously a great player. He's had problems in the past and the Cowboys are probably just being a little too cautious concerning him. I can't say I blame them knowing the bad PR the league has received recently due to player behavior. Things can change quickly after big contracts are signed.

But Jerry isn't one to shackle his own hands when he comes to paying people who are worth it.

He's not wrong in that WR's are not all that impactful when it comes to wins and loses, there are plenty of other positions that provide more to that effort.

But I do agree that it goes beyond the position he plays. Dez was the only one out there pissed off when this team was terrible, he's an emotional spark plug.

who you calling a whiner? lol dude ****
follow one person wherever but the entire team comes first not 1 person. next man up
Ware wasnt turning 26 or coming off a rookie contract or a healthy season or high production or a history of bad decisions. like I said follow him wherever you want

Those guys listed with the high avg salary and the ones with huge amounts guaranteed....there are guys in both lists that aren't worth what they are getting paid. In order to be getting that combo, you have to be a difference maker.

Dez has been that, but he has also been taken out of the game on many occasions. He is at the age that he has to make his bank, because he will likely be towards the downside of his career in 5 years. I would not have a problem with him getting more guaranteed money with maybe 20m in SB and the first couple years of salary guaranteed. And then something where at 4 or 5 years he can either be cut or restructured.

The Cowboys hold the big hammer with him considering they can franchise him the next two years for less money than he is hoping to get up front. So he has to play ball too.

The other thing is that we still have a bunch of free agents that we have to deal with this year. We do have some young guys and cheap guys that we are hoping step up, but we can't let everyone walk, especially when we have some young players ready to lead us to the Super Bowl.

I can't fault Dez for wanting his payday, but even after last week I still believe that if his contract is going to cripple our ability to sign other players, then I don't think he's worth it.

It's already perceived in the media as being a potentially bad situation between Dez and management...

If he dominates and has a great performance in the playoffs, then I say pay him. If he has his "flash in the pan" moment against the Jags and then disappears for a few games...Then let him walk.

When he's signed you'll get the obligatory "I never was going anywhere else...it's just business."

Lots of posturing now. He should count his blessings. He's been gifted with physical gifts very few have. It enables him to make millions. The tough talking is kind of silly IMO.

him and witten are the only two players that felt similar pain as the fans when we lost. i haven't got that vibe from any other cowboy the last decade.

Really? Romo doesn't mind losing that he plays with broken ribs and bad back among other things.
Murray screams in the locker room because he doesn't care? I think most of the team really cares, none as vocal as Dez but with the same heart as Dez.

Who is this "they" that you're referring to? That tool reporter? Dallas isn't trying to make him look bad.

Would you still root for the Cowboys?

IRVING, Texas -- Dez Bryant says he would prefer to retire as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, but feeling respected by the franchise he plays for is a higher priority for the Pro Bowl receiver.

With Bryant in the final season of his rookie contract, that respect is measured in the money being offered to him during slow negotiations for a new deal.

"It's all about respect. It's all about respect," Bryant said Wednesday. "I am a very loyal person, but just don't test my loyalty."

All this talk from him these days is getting old. He said he wasn't going to talk but it once the season started. But everytime there's a mic in his face that's all he talks about. Keep your mouth shut and concentrate more on not dropping them balls.
