Because some people on here still believe that he didn't do anything, or that the woman did it to herself, or that Hardy was the victim.

I'm sure that someone might think that but no one substantive in your opposition does.

As I've echoed numerous times, the lengths that some here will go to for Greg Hardy is absurd and hypocritical.

We all knew what he did, people want to give him the benefit of the doubt and rationalize why he had to throw around his girlfriend but we all know that none of these arguments would be made in his favor if he were playing for a different team right now. People want to say "well no one really knows what happened" well, there's a lot more evidence out there supporting the victim rather than Greg Hardy. This guy is a lowlife scumbag, no better than any of the other players that did similar things that people here have pretty much burned at the stake because all because they weren't wearing a star on their helmet.

Go back and read up on the "We should have signed Mike Vick thread" that was posted in the rant zone. See how many people are letting him "move on with his life". The constant bringing-up of Big Ben and others as if to say "well other teams have bad apples so it's okay that we have them too." Since returning from his suspension, this guy has done nothing but further cement the fact that he's a bonehead and is very lucky and fortunate to be on an NFL team and not in prison. So please, go to the same lengths to defend Joseph Randle...please do because I'd love to see how much effort (if any) would be put into that project...

He's filth. He might be a great player, but I'm sorry, being a great football player does not hold more value than being a great human being.

People out there defending Hardy like he's the latest victim of the biased mediots that want to do nothing but tear a guy down who's simply misunderstood and didn't really do anything wrong...

I don't doubt that he threw her around and there was a melee he dominated. I don't think he hit her. I thought a misdemeanor conviction was fine. I took issue with her getting a pass despite coke-raging and violence for her own part. I don't get is the faux-cavalier hypervigilance that wants to make a simple misdemeanor into a bannable offense but it helps the bottom line so I'll take it.

Greg Hardy is a violent and mean person but Holder would rather he pay her then have him go to jail. People making him the national pariah drives down his market value. I can't bring myself to too much outrage.

"Light her up" lol, if Greg Hardy lit up this 120 lb woman he would be in jail. Her injuries are entirely consistent with a coked out woman attacking and him defending himself. He's not a boy scout, but everyone is just constantly falling all over themselves these days to look sensitive and politically correct. It's not helping the media refuses to mention any mitigating details. Or that everyone hates the Cowboys anyway. I hope the locker room rallies around him.

And the entire article was her telling a story. Nothing more or less. Even the 911 call from the person in the other room isn't new, and that person only heard things like Holder yelling 'are you going to break my arm?' which was interestingly enough what she was yelling while the guy was holding her back and she was trying to get to Hardy while he was on the phone with police. It's in the background of the 911 call he made. Too bad they didn't have timestamps to show when the calls came in... but I'm sure that's a minor detail. But gee, if the ruckus in the background of Hardy's call actually was what the woman in the other call was referring to as him throwing her around... well that would put a bit of a hole in the story wouldn't it? But I'm sure that's not what happened, she probably yelled 'are you going to break my arm now' a number of times throughout the evening. People who are drunk and high do tend to repeat themselves.

The same mentality that caused lynch mobs to hang people less that 100 years ago is still in existance.

They figure they know more than the law and they should be the decision makers in terms of who is guilty. If you don't go along they might string you up also.

Little Ray Rice knocked his fiance out with a single hit. Greg Hardy, if he wanted to, probably could have caused life long injury to his ex easily.

That's not me saying Hardy was right in this situation, but I'm still not understanding why I should be demonizing Hardy and not his ex.

The article accompanying the pictures is very informative. Seemed to me the writer did a pretty thorough job of investigating what actually transpired, and it doesn't paint a nice picture for Hardy. Once he realized he had screwed up, he fell back on the time honored tactic of blaming the victim.

If he was innocent, why did he pay her off?

Where's the check that says he did? People have required zero evidence to make up their minds that he's a guilty abuser. That's on them for not doing their homework.

I have extensively researched everything I could find on this case. I felt compelled to do so before I advocated for my favorite team to sign this guy. Based on that homework, I formulated an informed opinion on the matter. Many people did not invest that amount of time before forming theirs.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. You have every right to your own opinion.

Don't want to get into this, but had to add, would it be OK if it was a WOMAN the size of Rhonda Rousey? Or a man the size of Peewee Herman?

If he had to call the cops, obviously words weren't working. Some people, especially high aren't exactly going to lose an argument without a fight.
