Well there are no safe bets in sports.. this one is a 100% lock for no... no matter what happens his critics will never admit to being wrong, to bad vegas doesnt have a line for that. If he won they would just say it was in spite of him.
Yeah the critics don’t disappear lol. Because to be a critic at this point in Dak’s career is about proving your right. You don’t want to be proven wrong.

You literally described 4 or 5 teams and there can only be one winner….head coaching and quarterbacking is where you gain an edge. You bette have some good ones.
True
I wasn't referring to winning the Super Bowl.
That includes all kinds of good things coming together--including great play, few injuries, and a little good fortune.

But everything is in place to have a strong season. No excuses for Dallas.

I would say, Aaron in New York is under more pressure.
Or how about Kirk Cousins. He's essentially on a one-year deal this year, so he's playing for his football life. There are other QBs in the same boat or with legitimate competition trying to take their spot.

If Dallas cuts Dak after this year, it eats $62 million. That can be spread over two years, but it's still a huge amount of money and cap space. The front office is probably feeling more pressure than Prescott for him to play well and be worthy of an extension. Worse thing that can happen for them is if he's just mediocre. Can't extend him then and don't want to either pay him $59 million to play or $62 million not to play. Could go for a pay cut if he's mediocre, but I doubt he'd accept one.

He will either prove his critics wrong or prove them right.
But will either side acknowledge it?

I will be blunt; I will join the Dak bandwagon when he gets a SB MVP.

THOUGH I will consider if if he really steps up in the postseason and the reason we don't win has nothing to do with him.

Oh, the squak hawk...never mind. A hero on site for some posters...

It was a rough 2022 for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who was spreading the football around and not all of in the right direction.

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off consecutive 12-5 seasons. The team has made two straight playoff appearance, a first for the franchise since 2006 and ’07. However, these past two campaigns have ended the same way, with postseason setbacks to the San Francisco 49ers.

Quarterback Dak Prescott was certainly in the spotlight this past season, perhaps a little more than usual. He threw 23 touchdown passes in 12 regular-season contests, but he and Houston Texans’ quarterback Davis Mills (who played in 15 games) were tied with a league-high 15 interceptions.

Prescott was picked off at least once in 10 of his dozen outings and explained that there were some other factors in that uncharacteristic turnover total.

I watched that 9er game on the NFL channel the other day and I swear I was watching WENTZ in the pocket. Prescot has had one great year with the Boys and if he can't get this club to an NFC Championship game or SB then Mr Mediocre at Best has got to go. Parsons had it right when he blamed Prescot for that 9er loss. Prescot is a legend in his own mind...........................

A team has no excuse in spreading blame. That is poor for a player and his team mate...blame game is shame for a team. They are a team and support all on it. That is from top to bottom.

This doesn't mean any have to accept less than achievement.

I agree that this is a pivotal season for Dak Prescott as well as his future role on the Cowboys following it playing out.

Just commit enough future picks to do it, but that requires failure of the present. That has not happened and wishful losing is purely foolish with what is already ready for a real fight. You afraid to own up to the fight?

Back to back playoff appearances, 12 wins and a top ranked defense.

Yeah let's tank. What kind of moron follows that logic? Durrrr

You have just explained and answered nothing.
Could you at least explain why the OL guy is grabbing him with at least a tiny bit of detail?
Or are you just being stupid on purpose?

It's not that he's being stupid on purpose. This is just the best he has to offer.

Agreed but I think everybody is all in at getting early points.
My main concern with MM is the offense showing up disciplined and prepared.
Good point. and made me think about the start of the last two seasons, both vrs the Bucc's with TOTALLY different offensive performances. In 2021, we stayed in the game (though didnt the Bucc's have a 2/3 choice secondary somewhere and Dak took advantage) and then the 2022 game where we fell behind by two scores and we may as well of packed up.

Now the other consideration could be that the 2021 game we had the Amari/CeeDee combo, rather than the CeeDee/ Brown corp in 2022....I think one of the most interesting aspects of the year is that the real Offense, should do a Slim Shady now we have an offense with potential.

There will obviously be the trolls that would deny Dak regardless of his involvement, however, most of us that do voice a concern (now and again) are quite willing to concede a Dak mega deal, so long as he shows he can overcome those demons (which I agree may be skewed with poor roster/coaching etc). For me, I just want him to perform/show leadership in the play-offs when under pressure. No QB gets through the SB without overcoming adversity.....doesnt necessarily have to win, however, i'm haunted by the last 5 minutes of the 2021 and 2022 season.

I believe Parsons has earned the right to call out any player on the Cowboys who aren't pulling their weight!

There is a lot of pressure on the quarterback of "America's team?"

This is a non-story.

I can respect a player owning up to his focus demands and see they all are met with. Story to this fan, not on an emotional level, but respect the demands that do come with intensity and a real intrusive environment. That all still needs to be met and growth of this current team as well. Rooting for that comes back into the lap of at least this fan. To yield from a season, seeds must first be planted. Hooooah, Cowboys!

Atleast that’s 2 things he is number 1 at. We know all to well what the other one is.
