Some of you guys are ridiculous.

I understand that message boards are here for all of us fans to state our opinions, and I, like you, choose to do so.

I'm glad some of you think the Roy's the greatest thing ever. I think otherwise.

For every stat you show me to "prove" how great Roy is, I'm sure I can find one to argue my side.

If you don't care my opinion, you can always ignore my posts.
Some people state their opinion. Some people back their opinion up with analysis.

This from a guy who would rather have Watkins on the field than a guy who has 19 ints in 6 years .....

You do not have a chance in this thread kid ..... you should exit stage right.

Watkins has TWO this year; just as much as your "great" Roy WIlliams.

You scare me as much as my 3-year old son.

BTW, I think Roy is the defense's achilles heal and I fear that it's going to cost us a game when it counts most. As a fan of the TEAM, I pray that I'm wrong.

Watkins is a good young player ..... but if you think he is anywhere near Roy's league you are even more clueless than your record indicates.

Before you start in on me, understand that I think any stats can be interpreted to fit any side of an argument, which was the point I was trying to make.

Stats are great and all, but they don't tell the entire story.

Agreed, but they also show a trend. Over the last 3 years Roy has outperformed statwise most if not all of the players people throw out there.

They'll throw out Polamalu who got beat several times, once for a TD last weekend by Winslow. They'll throw out Bigby who got torched by Greg Olsen to allow Chicago to win and Parker to allow Kansas City to lead until 3 minutes left in the game. They'll throw out Chris Harris who failed to tackle Dunn on his TD run and gave up the TD to Crumpler for the win. They'll throw out Ed Reed and other FREE SAFETIES. They keep throwing out players names looking at just the stats from this year and don't see their warts too.

Note: Please people, if you are going to throw names out there, at least take the time to watch highlights of the games they played in. Several of the names people have thrown out there show up plain as day getting toasted for TDs or long completions. If they are showing up in the highlights, how much are they showing up during the rest of the game? Grass is always greener I guess.

what is is cap hit the next X years if he's cut or on the roster? that will be a buzzkill.

regardless we should draft a quality cover safety and hope to phase out his play time sooner than later because he creates the largest VULNERABILITY in our defense.

I am also coming around to the fact that Roy is kinda slow (duh!)

But he's a hard hitter, no one disputes that.

So, do we trade him?
if so, what value can we get for him?

Do we bulk him up (legally, like with beer and mama's home cooking) and make him a linebacker?

Do we bench him?

What?

Finally, someone I can actually discuss something with.

Don't disagree that they show trends, but again, they don't tell the whole story.

For instance, Gibril Wilson, the Giants SS, had 14 total tackles and an INT, to Roy's 10 and none. Statistically speaking, he obviously had the better game, but believe it or not, I think Roy had the better game, cuz I saw TO roasting Wilson.

Again, more to the game than stats.

That said, while Roy had a decent game, for him, I fear the day he really costs us.

Let me get this straight.

I bag on Roy, so in your eyes, I'm a hater, but when I praise Watkins, I'm "clueless."

Wonderful logic. It explains to me why you can't have a rational discussion on Roy.

Does Roy get "roasted" more or less than most safeties?

Nope .... I praise Watkins every time he is on the field .... ya see I root for my team ..... I do not have an agenda about certain players where I want them to fail so I will be right .... I leave that to people like you and Edunce.

So, if I was gonna be a "fan" like you, I should just sit there in my blue-colored glasses and say nothing. That's you idea of a fan?

Heck, let's bring back Quincy, Hambrick, Mario Edwards and the gang! They're all part of the Cowboy's family.

Since we're talking about it, you had no feelings about Bledsoe's great play last year? Never wanted Romo? Never wanted another QB. I mean, Bledsoe was the starting QB for the Boys - how could you ever criticize him?

IMO? He gets roasted too much for me as a Cowboys fan. I could care less about any safety on another team.

Apparently, the coaches feel the same way, because instead of leaving him in his SS - the position everyone thinks he's so great at - they move him to LB.

You can bag on me all you want, but IMO, the Cowboys coaches say otherwise.

Actually, this is just a common trait of Phillips' defense. If you check out his old playbooks floating around the internet you can see that he uses quite a bit of "dime packages" which bring one of the safeties down to the linebacker spot (or "in the hole" in Wade's terminology).

If you want Wade's opinion, he's stated before that Roy is probably the best SS he's ever coached.

The coach said he had a good game this weekend. They also move him to LB so that they can get more coverage players in the game. The coaches are saying they would rather have Roy in the game than a LB. It's not like they are putting him on the bench for a CB or FS like you are implying.

Bledsoe was not doing his Job, he was throwing interceptions left and right ..... But saying that, I defended him because there was no reason to make thread after thread about him after he was benched.

Roy has been beat this year by Burress in the first game and Shockey in the game on Sunday .....

No Safety in the league can cover those 2 guys.

So do not try to play the victim here sport ..... you came into this thread in attack mode. You Roy haters can cry all you want ..... that your right on this board. But its also my and many others right to tell you how misguided you are in your agenda.

So, we can't look at stats. We can't listen to the coaches. And he doesn't know how Roy compares to other safeties in the league.

I'm convinced. Roy sucks.

Roy Has defensive pass coverage deficiencies. Shockey exacerbates that problem.

Roy if used correctly has significant positives.

I said, for me, he gets burned too much. Geez, to "help" him in coverage, they move him to LB and put actual cover safeties (Hamlin, Watkins) to take his place. Come on, even the Roy apologists agree he can't cover. Now, you're gonna say otherwise? For the last time, IMO, current DALLAS COWBOY HAMLIN is a better SS.

What's Wade gonna say about his safety on his 8-1 team? He sucks? Roy can't handle criticism from the press. If his coach said something remotely negative, he'd curl up in a ball.

Just last week Tom Hicks said he was happy with Doug Armstrong, the same Stars GM that he fired today. Every sports fan in the world knows that owner, coach and GM speak is 80% BS.

If I'm a hater, you're so far up Roy's rear, you could tell me what flavor gum he's chewing.

True, Bledsoe wasn't doing his job, and I contend Roy isn't doing his either. HE'S ONLY DOING HALF of his job responsibility.

You can't even admit that he's a weak cover safety (part of his job, like it or not), which in my opinion, tells me you have no football cred, so you have to glean all of your opinions from someone else.

All Safeties are "weak" in coverage compared to Corners kid .... thats why they are safeties. But 19 int in 6 years is pretty dang good ... even a football dunce like you should be able to see that.

You need to learn Football101 ..... and stop mimicking Edunce's arguments against Henry.
