Everbody be hatin' on Roy; what do you propose we do with him?

everytime the name Roy is in the title it becomes a 100+ post thread and goes on for days. Im starting to think some people just like getting everyone worked up and do it on purpose. Can we have some forum moderation please?

It could be worse, the name could be Quincy Carter or Chad Hutchinson.

How can you hate a player so much that plays for your team. Here we are sitting at 8-1, with the #1 defense in the Nfc, the guy is having a great year as far as tackles, int and Pdef. He has given up 2 TD in 9 games. He is a major part of why we haven't allowed a 100 yd rusher this season. He has played every down for this #1 defense at 2 positions and guys have the balls to complain about his play. Are we that spoiled?

I understand he has problems in coverage but they all do. Roy is the only player we have to play 2 positions at a whim. Don't you guys realise how much of a bonus that is? I am not trying to say Roy is all world, he hasn't been as great like his first 3 yrs but he is still one of the best SS in the league.

Where's the loyalty? The guy have given us some great years and soon as he shows a little decline in his play(and I think he is playing very good for us) we are ready to throw him under the bus. Is he playing like his first 3 yrs in the Nfl, no. Is he still one of the best at his position, yes. Look around the league.

This guy is a Cowboy, he is going nowhere. I hope he gets back to playing like the ole Roy but I am happy with the Roy we have now.

So you're saying we should be satisfied with subpar because of Loyalty? I think not.

When Emmitt left, I was happy. He just wasn't getting it done and he was only keeping the team from moving forward. Screw loyalty, fairly pay a man what he is worth and expect to get value for your money. If a man cannot play to the level you want him to play at, then you replace him. It's plain and simple.

Cant trade R.W. Roy may just have to lose some more weight and work on his coverage skills during the off season. Go back to his Sooners days he wasn't that bad in coverage. We are 8-1 and our loss wasn't because of Roy. So just relax Cowboy Fans and enjoy this team wins while they last.

I don't hate Roy, I've always liked him but if he doesn't play well, I'll voice my opinion. Roy is the best SS we have on the roster and we'll have to ride it out with him.

I do not think we have a "weak link" when everyone is healthy.

Newman - has trouble intercepting the ball but is still one of the best 1st corners in the league.

Henry - not very fast but is still one of the best 2nd corners in the conference.

Hamlin - tries to jump and make the big play prolly to a fault but is playing very well this year and is probably one of the best Free safeties in the NFC statistically.

Roy - can get beat on the deep ball but is a force close to the LOS and is still one of the best strong safeties in the league.


That is my honest assessment ..... now we can go back to calling each other blind homers and agenda boys.

Anyone ever noticed the trend in Gimmes threads? He starts a thread asking for opinions on a topic, and then instead of actually having a conversation about the topic he instead comments on the posters themselves. Thats why it is silly to even get involved with him. He has no interest in discussing the actual topic.
