When Romo scrambled around left end and got tripped up at the 2 yard line, he should have dove with the ball out stretched as far as he could. He didn’t do that. He kept the ball at his hip and was short of a TD by a yard.
What are you talking about? There is no way Romo could have scored on that play unless he were over 10 feet tall.

We’ve entered the land of the silly, when this pass is labeled ‘too low’

Reality: Dez didn’t properly get position, and he used bad technique by trying to use all hands. And Dez is left handed.

Here’s how it’s shouBe done. Same ball placement.

As I’ve said before, Dak has some really bad moments last year. NO DOUBT!!!!!! But, acting like Dez hasn’t had major issues the last 3 years is beyond ridiculous.

So let’s break down what really has changed the last 3 years.

2015 - Revolving door at QB
2016 - Dak’s rookie year
2017 - Dak

It’s clear to everyone that it takes a special type QB to work with Dez. One that understands where the ball needs to be put.

The issue that is being argued is if it’s on the front office to get Dez a QB that can do that or if it’s on Dez to not need that type of QB.

To me put Dez with Brady, Rodgers, Brees and he’s a monster. Of course the other side of it is those 3 are the ones who take all JAGs like Chris Hogan and make them stars.

Dez isn’t going to get faster. And while he runs good routes they aren’t on a dime. He rounds off angles which allows the DB to catch up.

Personally I’m on the get Dez a new QB because I’ve seen what happens when a QB knows HOW to use him.

Some think we need a new WR that doesn’t require that best ball placement. While that might seem easier it also must be taken into account who has the upside Dez does as well.

Do you see what you are doing? You are making excuses for Dez over a 3 year period of time. That is a long time!! I agree Garretts Offensive passing schemes/philosophy are not NFL caliber and that is part of the reason why Dez and Dak struggle at times, but Dez is not the same receiver he was in 2014. He is not winning 50 50 balls consistently and he is not getting the seperation he needs to. I like Dez, but I don’t think he is the same player he was in 2014. Also, as for comparing Dak and Romo. Like most Romo lovers( I always liked Romo, but he made to many mistakes in big games for me)you need to take off your Rose colored Romo glasses. As a pure passer with a prettier spiral, yes Romo has the advantage over Dak, but there were many great QB’s who didn’t throw pretty spirals, like Payton Manning. If you take the time to compare Dak’s first 2 years playing with Romo’s first 2 years playing, Dak was much better. I think Dak has intangibles( football intelligence, strong desire to be great, exceptional work ethic, major chip on his shoulder, natural confidence, very calm in pressure situations which helps you make the right decisions) that will help him become more successful than Romo, especially IF Garrett can fix his basic simple passing scheme. One of the biggest differences between Dak and Romo is Dak’s natural calmness in pressure situations.

Do you see what you're doing?

Not considering context, lol, smh.

Nothing. It has to do with him choking in big games and over rating his overall performance as a player when it mattered most. If you continued to read the thread you would see I brought up other examples of his uncanny ability to not get it done when it mattered most as a QB. If you would like me to provide more examples of how he blew it in big games AS A QB I’ll be more than happy to do so.
I agree. At times in big games Romo let the pressure get to him. This caused him to make physical mistakes( fumble the ball etc.) and make mental mistakes( indecisive decision making, when calling timeout, etc.)

It’s hard to have an intelligent conversation with someone who resorts to name calling. My previous posts on the subject supported the facts.

Your previous posts are garbage much like your facts. The fact is that Dak was all world for 24 games until the offense around him went to puddy. There is a direct and straight line correlation between Zeke and Smith going down and the entire offense and Dak going to mud. If you cant see that then you are either blind as a bat or a Dak hater. Either way your not worth even having a conversation with. Continue to spew false facts and dumb conclusions and I will continue to point out your laughable nonsense.

You want facts start spewing them out one by one and I will nail them and you to a wall. If you actually HAVE something concrete Ill be more than willing to acknowledge that fact as accurate.

Basically you are saying it takes a perfect pass to get the ball to Dez because he is always covered so tightly. That is not indictment of Dak, that is an indictment of Dez. When Romo was throwing the ball to Dez in 2014, Dez was consistently getting seperation, but last year Dez did not consistently get seperation with Dak throwing to him. If your honest you will admit that!!

The most meaningless, overblown stat of 2017 was the catchable rate on Bryant's targets.

That PFF article includes 7 games with Cassel and the first 4 games of Dak's career with Dez.

2015
55.9% 38 of 68

2016 (first 4 games)
46.9% 15 of 32
rest of 2016
64.9% 37 of 57

2017
64.3% 81 of 126

In 2017, the average of the top 10 targeted non-slot WR was 63.6%.

The entire NFL landscape acknowledges and concludes that Dez is a limited and poor route runner. Combine that with declining speed, a route tree and limited offensive scheme that pidgeon holes him to predictable routes and you have the perfect recipe for a bomb in production. Then sprinkle in a new QB that is uncomfortable throwing to reciever that arent open and you have the entire pie.

Its NOT rocket science here. Plain as day.

Now Dez had a better connection with Romo but that was years ago. And Romo isnt here anymore. Dak is here and he is our guy. And if he doesnt have a connection with the waning Dez, then no sense in paying an over the hill guy 17 million dollars. Time to make the offense "Dak friendly".

I would conclude that Dez may be able to have a productive, if not reasonable career for a few years going forward in an offense with a more seasoned and gun slinging type QB as a #2, possession type guy. And in an offense where he is the 2nd or 3rd option in the passing game. Getting constant one on one coverage and moving him around to get matchups.

This is the wrong coaching staff for him and the wrong QB. And no way can he be a #1 guy anymore getting the teams best corner every week. Doesnt work.

Romoites ignore the fact that Dez actually got open once upon a time

LOL........ahahahaahahahaa!!!!

Put Dez with Brady, Rogers, or Brees and hes a monster!!!

So in order to be productive he has to be with one of the best QB's of the modern era? ahahahahaha!!!!

I rest my case. And I will tell you what.............Brady does NOT throw to receivers that arent open. He would simply go to someone else. And after a while, he wouldnt even look his way. And Brady throws to windows. Behind, low, high depending on where the dback is some of the time. He just has receivers that adjust to the pass. Unlike Dez.

Really! What a weak reply. I clearly stated why I think Dez has regressed over the last 3 years and Why Dak’s first 2 years were more successful than Romo’s and why I think Dak will have a more successful career than Romo and you come back with NOTHING!! LOL

Very well put. Also the GOAT doesn’t throw jump balls, unless it’s the last play of the game.

Dez numbers in 2015 w Romo

7 targets, 5rec, 48yards, 71%

9 targets, 4rec, 45yards, 1td, 44.4%

8 targets, 2rec, 26yards, 25%

58rec, 634yards

The 16 game pace Dez was on in the three games he played w Romo in 2015. Those numbers look familiar?
