You're moving the goal posts. The original statement was.... hasn't WON A SUPER BOWL in 10,000 days. Not appeared in one or a conference championship game. Simply...WON A SUPER BOWL. Its been 10,365 days for the 49ers since their last win. Maybe Twitter can suck on that.

Maybe I am moving the goal posts, but I just have trouble laughing at a team that has at least made it to the Super Bowl twice since then and actually within the last 10 years when we haven't come close to sniffing one since the mid-1990s. Super Bowls are hard to win, just getting there is an accomplishment I would have liked to see from my team in the past almost 30 years.

Like I said, there are others worth laughing at that have accomplished less than our team has in that time period. And it's always fun to laugh at Washington. I'd like to be able to throw Philly and New York in there as well, but alas, I cannot. We can't even use the empty trophy case emoji when talking about the Eagles anymore.

I also never understood why the term “homer” is meant negative. People would rather be known as negative or pessimistic than a homer. Crazy times….

If you get enjoyment from laughing at your team why even be a fan?

I don't think the team is complete mainly because of the offensive line. I expect a season like last season. It's not bad but relying on old guys and guys coming back from injury along the OL is risky at best. Usually doesn't work out well. I've liked the team overall much better since Dan Quinn came in but the lack of attention to the OL worries me realistically. 10-11 wins is nothing to sneeze at but when compared to other loaded teams, we are probably second tier again. I think they can win a playoff game again. That's about it. Much better than the early 2000's. LOL

Being optimistic (homer) all the time is just as bad as being pessimistic all the time. Both extremes are bad. It's always better to be "realistic". If you are a realistic thinker, both extremes usually think you are the other. I think your getting this wrong. The Cowboys are the team I choose to root for. Born in Dallas 62 years ago. That's just the way it is. I have never had season tickets or purchased a bunch of Cowboys"stuff", I am just a fan and love the game. It's fun to watch. No need to belittle the fans. It's just a game. Blind loyalty my butt. I choose to be a fan and not blindly. Football is fun and competitive and I enjoy it. Pretty simple.

I don't come to this forum to berate the other fans. Chill out.

But with a set of binoculars I could watch bored Canadian Mounties sit around throwing horse pies at each other and zap each other with their cattle prods. Watching Cowboys fans bicker at each other over nothing reminds me of that.

I'm talking about the pom-pom waivers that yell at people and tell how the team is going to the Super Bowl, EVERY single season, load up on gear, slobber all over everything even when the team will be lucky to win 5 games.. Those are blind homer fans and they don't do the franchise ANY GOOD..
