For as much attention as Terrance's blunder got yesterday (for good reason), Zeke's awful rushing debut was a much bigger deal.

Showed no vision or instincts whatsoever.
It shouldn't get as much attention. It was his first game of his career and after missing most of training camp and only playing in one preseason game. So no it's not a much bigger deal. Be patient and let him get more experience and not expect 100 yards in his first game after a limited training camp.

Zeke should have gotten more playing time in preseason. Morris played more in preseason and he looked like it. We need to stop babying these 'star players'. He had that hamstring issue, but he could have been out there in game 4 to shake some of the rust off.

ALL the players should have got more time in the preseason, including Romo. The refusal of this coaching staff not to do so, always cost us early games. The team is not ready the 1st several games.
And it showed yesterday, compounded by a rookie QB and a D ready to stop the run at all cost. Because of the rookie QB, they dared for him to beat them. And he didn't get what he needed from the WR's to do so.

Yep, we baby these guys during preseason and they end up looking rusty during real games or get injured. Sure, you take the risk of having a player get injured during preseason, but then again they could get injured in the first game of the season and be out for the year.

Run blocking was awful. Last year, they started off bad as well. I wouldn't be surprised next game is like this.

Tony Dorsett's first 4 games
4-11, 9 yard long
7-62, 34 long
10-72, 14 long
14-141, 77 long

Emmitt's first 5 games
2-2, 1 yard long
6-11, 15 long
12-28, 6 long
23-121, 16 long

So what you're saying is EE will break the century mark the fourth game? ;)

P.S., I'm not in the least bit worried about Zeke. He might not have had much room, but he looked smooth. He won't be contained for long.

Seems like a pattern...so if it is, we got a winner at RB.....:D

I wish Reality would make people pass a football IQ test before being allowed to post. But since you obviously have it figured out let me ask you a question or two. How is a RB supposed to run against a team with 8-9 guys in the box? How is a RB supposed to create holes to run through when there ARE NONE? When a team knows you are running, and where you are running to, how are you going to succeed? Ok, sorry that was three, but have at it...

I 100% get what you mean but we drafted this guy to be special and make a play.

Last year I really wanted us to draft David Johnson.

This is him making a play when nothing is there.. Zeke was a top 5 pick.. There will be times when he has to create his own path somehow some way. He can't be a typical RB. He has to be special.

Learn football, kid.

He had several chances to either run outside or make a cut inside. Instead, he'd put his head down and go straight into the traffic for no gain.

Shades of Julius Jones.

Btw, AP had 31 yards on 19 carries. You know why? The titans rather the backup QB beat them in the passing game rather the HOF RB run all over them.

Meanwhile another draft comes and goes while the biggest glaring deficiencies remain, on defense.

That's not even realistic. The players want to win every game sure. But nobody is crazy enough to actually believe it.
Do you think the Patriots go into a game thinking believing they are going to lose? The Packers? The Seahawks?

Anybody who thinks they can't or won't win every single week should be off the team.

Elliott might be a great player but that's kind of the whole reason it's stupid to draft a RB at 4. For that to pan out, you basically need him to become Adrian Peterson. Anything less is a wasted pick.

RB is the only position in the NFL where you can literally pick a guy off the street to give you similar production as a top 5 pick.

Like when? Please show where that happened.

AP has burned a lot of defenses that have sold out trying to stop him..

We should all give Zeke a pass but the production needs to happen quickly.

Well, so who do you blame? Or Oline or Giants run defense?
Giants run defense was excellent yesterday.

As for the oline, we seem to struggle early on in the season and get rolling as the season moves along. I would be shocked if the Giants stuff our run game like that when we meet in December...
