FEATURED FA agent thread

I dont see how he fits TBH, but not like he would be eating a large chunk of the cap or get multi years.

I'd rather see Anae and/or Carter not be blocked by him.

I think Anae has a real chance to be a decent situational rusher, but not without a chance to play.

If the price is right, he wouldn't necessarily block them. It would just be up to them in preseason to prove they should get playing time. I'm all for earning your spot.

Silly fool. We got Urban who PFF called the 3rd best run stopping DT in football last year. 1T solved!

I know you are probably joking, but I don't see Urban as a 1-tech. Maybe the Cowboys do, but a 6-7, 300-pounder would have trouble holding his ground at that position. I see him as either a 3-tech or LDE on running downs. Of course, with us also signing Watson, who also fits those roles better than at 1-tech, it's hard to say.

If we don't end up adding a DT early in the draft, maybe our run-down lineup will be RDE DeMarcus Lawrence, NT Antwuan Woods, 3-tech Brent Urban, LDE Carlos Watkins. That wouldn't do much, though, if teams pass on those run downs. I don't think we want Hill or Gallimore out there on running downs (unless they show improvement in that area), but they would possibly be our passing down DTs right now.

Totally get that but look at who you are dealing with here. This franchise continues to ham fist the DT position. We have two three techs already in Hill and Gallimore. Would seem odd to add yet another 3T, one who can't even collapse the pocket and is basically a two down DT who has none of the upside of a Gallimore. They tried to force Covington into some 1T play and my assumption is they will try that here as well.

some are trying to dress up Urban and Watkins as if they were steak dinner when actually they are mystery meat. Meaning, its a dang mystery as to how good they will be, OR WON'T. Lets slow our roll and see what happens.

Urban has been listed as high as 305 and could possibly be bigger. I'm not sure of their plans for his position, I just don't think he's ever been tried as a full time 1T so tough to expect it.

Oh, c'mon. Stop. He's 6'7" and 300 lbs soak and wet. He's not a damn NT.
