This is what it boils down to me for as well. Vick would be much better fit in a smaller market where he'll get less scrutiny. Vick in Dallas wouldn't be good for us or him.
Yeah, and it's good to see you too Fuzzy. I'd say let's go get that beer down at the Red Eyed fly like we were going to back during the Henson/Romo debates. But I'm still not a drinker, so maybe I'll just see you around the old message board or something.
Cheers,

well honestly this thread should be moved to a non cowboys page because this has nothing to do with the Cowboys.

Cowboys would prefer Chad hutchinson to Vick at this point, so what does this have to do with Cowboys only forum?

It is an understood law that cats, dogs, and horses are protected species from abuse. Who is Vick to think he is above the law?

What does deer and cows have to do with it really? Cows are slaughtered for food, do I care how? no. And before you try and slap the death penalty thing at me, I will answer that too. If you deserve death penalty, then you should be put to death and it does not matter to me how quick or painful it is.

im all for the death penalty for murder, and rape and brutal crimes.....and prefer they get a slow painful death not this sissy injection crap.....

i dont agree with what Vick did but i do disagree with the rational of the Vick haters......my point is exactly what you are refering to.....its only animal cruelty if its against certain animals...but with other animals you can do whatever you want and in todays society its perfectly acceptable......just pointing out the hypocrisy ......and you say horses are protected ? what about rodeos, racing and farms where they are worked relentlessly, whipped, spurred then put down when they get injured......?

The commish just needs to say no here.

He doesnt belong in the league. Simply say no your not welcome.

Let him go play in the cfl.

If he is the great athlete everyone says then he will win some championships in the cfl and get paid.

There is no reason for him to have the chance to play in the nfl.

OMG!!!

I'm not sure anyone has said it is only cruelty when its against certain animals.

well here in America, it as much a crime for a homeless guy to steal ten dollars from a very wealthy guy (unless you work for the gov't obviously) as it is to steal 10 million when it comes to judgement.
You have yet to prove my theory wrong, no matter how hard up the NFL is for a mediocre QB at absolute best acting like a RB.

You obviously know nothing about criminal law. One is theft, the other is anything from grand larceny to fraud depending. Youre clueless and pointless to talk to.

Well duh! what? do you want him to put it up to a vote? Is he supposed to ask a labor union exec. for an answer? only if you throw some money his way.....

Clueless once again. I am talking about guidelines that outline what is a punishment that fits the crime. Something that Tagliabue, a former NFL attorney, set up and Goodell/Upshaw thrashed. Not this arbitrary nonsense as it is now.

I agree 100%. For some reason, anytime this loser's name is mentioned it becomes Cowboy related, even though the team has ZERO intention of giving him the time of day.

dadymat is one of those that refuse to admit that someone that tortures animals for PLEASURE is a bad guy. Then he tries to say what about other animals- which is not the point but just his way to try and divert the conversation from something he does not want to talk about. What does hunting or the processing (butchering) of animals for food have to do with that? Nothing of course.
Vick did this for 5 years. As the indictments made plain, he personally took golden retreiver puppies and threw them in the pit as "appetizers" for the fighting dogs.

Agreed.

He made some monumental mistakes and has paid a hug price.

I think he deserves a second chance.

Not saying the Cowboys - or any other team - should sign him but I think he should have the opportunity to attempt to straighten his life out.

He's paid his dues and I personally wouldn't hammer a team that signed him.

People can realize the error of their ways without being spurned from society.

This I totally agree with. The guy screwed up, like most of us have in our lives at least once, and he paid the price for it. I'm sure he will eventually find his way into the saddle again as a QB in the NFL and wish him well as he begins the long journey back to respectability. I would just prefer he stay away from the Dallas Cowboys. We're fine at that position.

I'm not going to bother to read the multitude of posts on the subject between the OP and the last few here because I know they will only piss me off. Some people really truly believe they have never done anything wrong in their lives. That's funny to me.

Screwing up is when you get stupid and have some drinks and get behind a wheell.
Screwing up is when you are broke and try and steal something.
Screwing up is when you make a mistake on your tax returns.

Doing something for FIVE YEARS is NOT screwing up. Its a conscious continuing CHOICE to keep doing the same thing again and again.
Its a pattern of behavior that shows what is inside the head.
Its thinking there is NOTHING WRONG WITH TORTURING animals.
IT IS NOT A MISTAKE OR A SCREW UP. Its someone showing they have no moral center or ability to think like a normal person.

For clarity's sake, or comprehension, the thread was originally posted in the NFL Zone. Hostile moved it to the Fan Zone to try to prevent others from re-posting it here.

Outside of that, it's the dead of offseason. One Vick thread isn't going stop new cowboy threads about "Who's your favorite player/coach/or non-cowboy" from being posted.
