For clarity's sake, or comprehension, the thread was originally posted in the NFL Zone. Hostile moved it to the Fan Zone to try to prevent others from re-posting it here.

Outside of that, it's the dead of offseason. One Vick thread isn't going stop new cowboy threads about "Who's your favorite player/coach/or non-cowboy" from being posted.

You should just sticky a thread stating that non-cowboy threads will be in the fan zone.

I don't know how many times I have seen you guys explaining this.

Screwing up is when you get stupid and have some drinks and get behind a wheell.
Screwing up is when you are broke and try and steal something.
Screwing up is when you make a mistake on your tax returns.

Doing something for FIVE YEARS is NOT screwing up. Its a conscious continuing CHOICE to keep doing the same thing again and again.
Its a pattern of behavior that shows what is inside the head.
Its thinking there is NOTHING WRONG WITH TORTURING animals.
IT IS NOT A MISTAKE OR A SCREW UP. Its someone showing they have no moral center or ability to think like a normal person.

Its a choice to get behind the wheel when you're drunk. Drunk driving kills people. Slaughtering animals is something completely different. No one ever said it was cool.

I am not getting into this, but I disagree with that statement.

It shows that someone has a moral center that differs from your's and mine.

It shows someone who doesn't value the life of a potential pet the same way that we do.

It does not show them to have no morals, just differing morals.

And don't come back at me with "then if it's not against someone's morals to kill someone then they should be able to?" That's not remotely related.

I know people who shoot cats on sight, who swerve their cars to hit them when driving down the street. Do I find it morally reprehensible? sure I do, but for the most part they are decent people with some really messed up views of cats.

I also have known people who feed puppies to their pet pythons...

which, just to get it out there, never ever give away "free" puppies or kittens. People do some really messed up stuff with "free" baby animals.

dadymat is one of those that refuse to admit that someone that tortures animals for PLEASURE is a bad guy. Then he tries to say what about other animals- which is not the point but just his way to try and divert the conversation from something he does not want to talk about. What does hunting or the processing (butchering) of animals for food have to do with that? Nothing of course.
Vick did this for 5 years. As the indictments made plain, he personally took golden retreiver puppies and threw them in the pit as "appetizers" for the fighting dogs.

get over yourself....geez....i never sad it was OK.......i was telling people like you that just because you have a built in excuse as to why it is OK to kill, torture and mutilate animals of your choice that you shouldnt be condemning a man to eternal damnation for doing the same to animals of his choice.....they do it for sport and gambling not for pleasure of watching the dogs get hurt .....like i said I dont condone hurting any animal

no dady you use it as a excuse to do nothing about anything. You say if we do not protest all of it we cannot protest ANY of it.

Four that is pretty sad. Anyone who likes to kill animals for pleasure - and TORTURE them- is a sick person. Yes that is a moral judgement. Try it sometime.

I didnt say he shouldnt be punished...i said he has already been punished...and people need to get over it...

the definition of moral is different depending on whos definition you want...some places its illegal to kill cows..here its very legal...and in some places they eat dogs legally..here we dont ...and in Alaska they kill wolves legally by the thousands for population reasons.....so explain this moral judgement you speak of.....we as a society have placed animals on a lower standard than we as humans are and rightfully so....but to take 2 or 3 species and protect them and slaughter the rest and call it moral judgement is ignorant

Yeah tell that to the people in the phillipines or indochina. they eat dog.

your entire argument is essentially me and others like dogs therefore they should have rights. the only thing is that if you actually ever saw the lengths that a doe will go to to protect its fawn or pretty much any other mammal and it should be apparent to anyone with empathy that deer and other mammals demonstrate just as similar 'human' traits as do dogs.

First off, FuzzHead, we are not in the Philippines or Indochina, right?

Secondly, in Germany on the autobahn you can drive as fast as you want to, no speed limit. Should we Americans be able to do that?

In America it is against the "LAW" to do what Ron Mexico did. In America it is not against the law to hunt, however, you do need a permit in some cases.

So, using your silly logic, why doesn't Herpes Man go to Indochina and open up his own "Dog Burger" stand, with fries? He has the experience of how to kill them...right up his alley!

Plus, he can make some coin to pay back his debtors! Perfect place for him...outside of America where dogs are nothing more than that...just a damn dog!

It's pretty sad that a convicted felon like Vickie (that's what they called in in prison)...can come out and start making milllions of dollars, yet, the other conviced felon getting out has a hell of time just to get a job flipping burgers!!

Really?

Let's see here...a drunk guy that cannot make a rational decision because he's drunk, gets in his car and drives, maybe kills someone.

BUT...a imbecile that knows, for 5 freaking years, that it "against the law" to fight pit bulls, but does it anyway? And the fool is not even drunk!

Got it....

but to be fair...most criminals were only "flipping burgers" before they went to prison...if they were employed at all.........

Sorry but people know damn well that getting behind the wheel after drinking is wrong. And guess what? It too is illegal and its something people have known is illegal since they were probably in grade school.

There is no way you can minimize drunk driving just for the sake of trying to further your negative feelings towards Vick. There is just no way. Being drunk doesn't excuse people from anything.

Doesn't matter. Even when Vick was in his prime he was an average QB.

Now he's merely going to be a below average QB/RB.

Would anyone here be sick if Vick made it onto a team and went to the playoffs before we had a chance to get back there?

Just tossing out a zinger... :D

And that just shows you and the rest of the world how stupid a millionaire was, right

Blunt Boy thought he was above the law because he was rich...then he found out the hard way!

Yeah right. Had he been your run of the mill middle class citizen he would still be in the box.

Vick got off very easy. Even in the court of public opinion.

I have no clue to what your post was about, because I agree with it.

My contention is that a a drunk knows not what he does...while drunk. Vickie knew what he was doing was wrong and against the law, but did it anyway...

Maybe he was stoned...?

Senior Mexico is going to have to deal with what he did for a LONG TIME!

But, I guess he's going to be able, as a convicted felon, to go make mo, mo, mo, mo, money....millions of it?

Must be nice to be him, while the other punk that sold some weed gets out and cannot get a job painting houses!

There ya go. Machiavelli wrote in detail regarding 'fortune'. Mr. Vick happens to be one of the most fortunate individuals I've ever encountered. Even after his systematic murdering of a loyal domesticated animal.

I know the Tiny Bar too, and the owner. That place right by whole foods. Perhaps we should have a beer there. I'd have one, and one only. But I know of that place because a lot of my friend's hang at whole foods and there as well.
