so they can trash the player they hate make me sad. Lucky I’m old enough to remember when most fans rooted for the team regardless if they loved or disliked the QB or any other player.
This is a strawman that gets perpetuated. We're all rooting for the team and the quarterback. Only the weakest among us tie their self worth to sports arguments.

I'm old enough to remember when Cowboys fans held a certain standard and didn't celebrate regular season wins against doormats and reserved judgment for the playoffs.

Yes, we were spoiled by those 20 consecutive winning seasons back in the day. But for most of us, it's NFC championship game or bust always, and Super Bowls serve as the true litmus test.

Now, it seems we've been reduced to the Browns. Very few teams have failed to get to the championship game round in the past 28 years, but Dallas is one of them.

How old are you then? When did fans not celebrate wins? Who gives a crap how good the opponent is ? At the end of the year the league counts all the wins the same. And in what century did they not all count the same towards making the playoffs and seeding?

I love beating the crap out of teams. I love winning. But I shouldn't be obligated to kiss Dak's butt or start worshiping at his alter just because he had a good game today. And I won't.

Let's see if he can do the same against better competition. Lets see if he can step up in the playoffs. Maybe then we'll start talking about giving him deserved props. Right now I still don't trust him. You know who else was able to beat up on the bad teams but could never get it done in the playoffs? Yep, #9.

Go ahead and call me every name in the book - I don't care. I'm entitled to my opinion as much as any other member of this site.

Define celebrate. I mean, a loss yesterday would have perhaps been the most embarrassing in Cowboys history, but yeah, it was a fun game. Dallas had 600+ yards of offense, which is rare. Early in the 3rd quarter, the Giants had 17 yards of offense and 1 first down, which is even more rare. New York was essentially playing without a quarterback.

However, yesterday doesn't matter if Dallas doesn't win ALL of the next three games to get to 10-3. After that, it's Philly, Buffalo, Miami, and Detroit. Dallas is already looking pretty much like a wild card team thanks to the Arizona debacle and the loss to Philly. Dallas desperately needs some home games in the playoffs; these aren't the road warrior Texas Rangers.

The Cowboys have to change their playoff narrative of crapping the bed in the divisional round every time. Until then, it's just same ole rinse and repeat, which is beyond tiresome.

Head to head, division wins, conference wins, all those count toward tie breakers. All wins are not the same.

I don’t think fans like this exist. I think some fans have given up on Dak though. He’s had hot streaks before and he inevitably crashes back down to Earth. I’m certainly not counting on him staying hot through January.

Well, it’s because this is a fan site. There are people who want to have fun and support the team.

We want to hang out with fellow fans and we want to high five and hope the Boys win every week.

When you come to the Zone and all of the usual people channel their inner eeyore it’s just such a downer.

Why take pleasure in misery?

What a way to experience fandom.
I'm naive, in that I believe all of us here want the Cowboys to win. It's disturbing though when one side just insults the other though for having an opinion
(it's happens on both sides) This is all I meant. If we can't talk freely without getting attacked, what's the point.

Ok, ok I really needed that lesson on tiebreakers. After 50 some years of following football I didn’t know that.

I meant as far as the final wins and losses. The NFL doesn’t put an asterisk by games that mean that win was against a losing team. So yes … YOU WIN ! I didn’t mention tie breakers.

But by your argument then yesterday was a huge win because it was conference and division . So how bout we “celebrate” instead of trying to knock our players down.

Permanently banning you would be a great place to start. You complain about 'haters' and everything else but your posts are some of the most hate filled rants on the entire site. Between your insults and threats of physical violence, this site would be better off without members like you.
Ya unfortunately have to agree on this one as folks with this mindset usually are in prison not in our Classy CZ family.............This isn't the first time he mentions and threatens violence heck if I remember correctly think he asked someone to meet up in person......I mean common now????

And then you are left with nothing but a bunch of lemmings who all have the same opinion about everything related to the team. Is that what you want?
No ...... You guys and the ones on the other side are the lemmings ..... Your opinions will never change. You just use it as an excuse to fight with each other in every thread.

Take it to tells and stop being such drama queens ,the rest of us do not want to hear your nonsense

I want Dak and the rest of the team to have an Aikman, Irvin, or Brady mindset - put aside personal goals and strive for the ultimate team goal. Nothing else should matter but winning championships. When players are getting paid the ridiculous amounts of money they are paid these days, it's a very small thing for a fan to expect. Without us they aren't making that much money.
I've traveled the gamut of fan positions with this team. At first I was a wild-eyed fanatic and believed in any move, or coach, or player the team had. I started reading several sports pages daily as I got older and determined the front office took advantage of players back in the 60's and early 70's. I was immersed in the team, and lived for football season. As time progressed I began questioning the decisions made to build the team. Especially during the 80's. As the 90's came along I celebrated Jimmy being hired and watched him build the best Dallas team I had ever seen. I saw them use their wits to bring in specific players to strengthen areas that were lacking. I even believed in Jerry and Stephen for a time after Jimmy left. That ended.

1. The money they make has no bearing on any of this. If you sit and wring hands over their salary, then you must not go to the movies much because they make so much money. I am happy for anyone and the money they make. It's not for me to say how much these guys get paid. And I certainly don't believe the amount they make suggests they fulfill some requirement inside of my head. This is a team game. Thus the team wins and loses. Dallas has shown they will not use extra money and bring in first line free agents. So if Dak was making 2 million a year, Jerry and Stephen still would not scour the free agent market and follow the archetype of the Eagles bolstering any and every position they can to win it all.

Without consumers, none of us would be making the money we make.

2. I could drop this template you posted on Romo. He changed the plays. He was the one who piddled around to the last seconds before having the ball snapped. He wanted to pass on every down. I liked Romo, but had a distrust about his game. If I were to encompass what I think about Romo's game, the pass against Green Bay to Dez sums up Romo's approach. Throw the bomb with long odds because I can be the hero. That doesn't mean I didn't appreciate his passing game. But sandlot football is tough to maintain when the rest of the team is trying to follow the script.

They only needed a first down on that play.

I think he's just talking about some fans just not being able to enjoy the moment instead they embrace the suck and want to immediately point out past mistakes. The "realists" are more "defeatists" and go in not having any hope or enjoyment of being a fan of a team. They would rather bring up what happened in the past or what might happen in the future, without enjoying the now. They seem to derive their only enjoyment in the team's failings so they can be the ones that said "I told you so!" No one likes the "I Told You So" Guy.

Only one team at the end will have been successful and the odds are that it won't be us and the "realists" can finally have their moment. I'm not blind to the team's shortcomings or the difficulty coming, but I will root the team on and enjoy the wins and good moments along the way. I'll let fans of other teams crow and rub in the mistakes. If you can't find enjoyment in Sunday's game, why bother to be a fan at all?

If you can't enjoy a win for a couple of days and you can't give credit to a player that played well....you're a troll and hater. Simple as that. Why watch if you can't enjoy it?
Most fans never played and don't get how hard it is to win in any sport, but most of those fans still cheer and enjoy. There is a difference between being critical and being a hater. You piss all over a team after a win? That's a hater

Of course. You are way too ignorant for anything else. And yet, you think it's OK for you to start a thread hating on a player. You are the biggest hypocrite on this site. Miserable and a rotten human being. All you do is attack and bring extreme vitriol to this site. Just go away.
But he's got 500k in the bank, and lives in Hawaii. We're the miserable ones, bro. We're lucky he even posts here. It's not everyday you have posters that are super level-headed, and have extreme amounts of self-awareness.
